- At last it's done! I'm super happy with how it come out! It's been a long 17 months with ups and downs of burnout and motivation but it's complete! This is my best Renewal animation to date in my opinion.
This animation is mainly about Victor and his journey from villain to redemption. Both Victor and Mortimer started out as very similar people at the start but Mortimer stagnates while Victor grows.

Mortimer is such a gorgeous dragon design, I love how this video shows he's just a dick from start to finish, but good LORD his design is fantastic. So simple, but at the same time, complex enough that once you look at him, you can just feel his ego dripping off him.
Amazing video! I loved seeing more of Victor's humbling arc, also I think this is really the first colored video that shows Victor is half blind after getting dethroned! Insanely beautiful work!
It shows it breifly in the Curses PMV! But that is an eliza focused video.

i am absolutely obsessed with this story. the character designs are unique and it gives them a LOT of character and are very iconic. the story is touching and intense and it really gets you attached to them. i LOVE the redemption that victor has, and how emotionally touching said redemption was. the characters have amazing personalities and are charming and easy to relate to/sympathize with.
i could go on. this is such a good story and it is so wonderfully written. i hope someday you'll have somewhere to read the entire story to its fullest, i cannot wait
I'm always adding onto it and slightly changing things, plus writing is hard, so I probably won't ever fully write it out. I like the flexibility it currently has.
I absolutely love this holy shit. I adore the music and Victor’s redemption arc, kind asshole to king not asshole gotta love that. In all seriousness the tweening and art is amazing, and I love seeing Victors story. I relate to that asshole a lot.
Also Mortimer getting his ass wooped
The editing and animation is so good! The liip sync is awesome to watch and expression goddamn! We are not gonna talk about how many time I keep rewatching it (The music slaps)

The lipsync [in my humble opinion] is very good. The timing is ON 👏 POINT! 👏 And the tweening/movement at the end is PHENOMENAL! The art is beautiful! I was very excited to see this meme/AMV in its final form, and here it is, and I absolutely love it!
dude this was great!!! i'd honestly love to see more longer-form animation content like this, Victor and Mortimor are very interesting :0 I'm a little embarrassed to say it took me until now to realize how their designs juxtapose each other (light scales with dark hair vs dark scales with light hair) lmao. keep it up!!

I like how Victor is made with more stretchy lines while Mortimer is more clean. Not sure if it’s intentional or what it’s meant to represent but cool anyway

The flower motif is connected to Eliza :P theres a bit more too it but I wanna address it more later on

The actual reason is because that was the very first part I drew out of the entire video so it didn't become as refined due to not being in the workflow yet...

What happened to Victor's triangles after Mortimer scarred him?
he lost his powers which is signified by the triangles (or lack thereof)

What happened to his royal marking under the eyes, and why did they change color?
Victor lost them after he fell into the river (it's related to that green dragon)
And they glow white when their powers are in use.
@@LampP0st Their powers? I wonder what their powers are, and how that green dragon or the water managed to strip those from him...
It's a loose idea right now but the powers are different for each character. Victor has ice related powers, Eliza has plant related powers, and Mortimer has illusion/light related powers. Only people from their specific lineage has them, indicated with the triangles.
The water didn't strip the powers from him. The green dragon (known as The Witch or similar monikers) is related to the origins of the royal powers, I won't reveal anymore than that.
@LampP0st Hm, for some reason I thought they'd have powers like those witches in Dune, i.e. enforcing their will on others. As for the water, I meant the near-death experience, as his eyes seem to have changed colors while he was submerged, which I still don't quite get... Hopefully, this will be explained more in the future, as I really love this universe of yours!
Actually the powers did start out as the "mind control"/Will control powers similar to that but I thought it was kinda OP and could break some storylines.
The eyes changing colors is mainly just symbolism.
