Salam, Indoor se Jo pani nikalta hai Woh almost distilled water hota hai aur distilled water Bohat Ziada rust producing hota hai, outer ko zabrdast qisam ka rust lagay ga aur uski efficiency Bohat down hojaye gi. Is field k kisi engineer se advise Len pehlay. Methay pani ka use shayad behtar ho magr rust k chances phir Bhi hon gay. ( I'm a chemical engr)

Our environment is very dusty and will choke the condenser very quickly due to the wet surface. Secondly, salts deposition will block the fins as well. Better you experience it for a few months and then recommend it to others.
I used from last 5 years. And water wil dry immediatly due to hot air.

Although it is a nice technique but on the the other hand being as engineer we have observed that with the using the said the outer of your Ac has become rusty which is alarming as the motor of outer has also become rusty which could result into a severe electric shock to any human being hence there is also chances that the compressor of your Ac also become faulty
You can say..
It's not recommended and cause damage to outer
It will increase subcooling and decrease the efficiency of the machine,it will also damage the compressor and other components, electrical and mechanical, and other risks you mentioned already.

bhaiyon barisho main bhi tu split chalta hai ...good split is always protected and withstand extreme weather conditions...for example in malaysia and thailand where weather is mostly rainy aur oyter per paani girta rehta hai...but stays fit and healthy...no risk...and good acs like aharp lg panasonic ki motors water proof hoti hai...and fins are gold plated..so totally safe ..and im personally experiencing this technique with my lg dual inverter

I have already done this method is 100 %working.
I used an old Body of air cooler and adjusted outdoor in body and connect the pump of cooler to ac condenser . Now it save 50 % electricity.

Great idea I also have done this but using external water spray. as soon the water cools the coil the split gives cool air .Also I have done this with car radiator on long route and suddenly as give cool chill air and lower amperage. great idea

It works, but there's no free lunch.
I did it both on my car ac (mehran thi us waqt) and home outdoor. (With a mist nozzle).
AC thanda to ziada karta hai but
1. Dust keechar mein change ho jati hai aur condenser ko choke bohat jaldi karti hai.
2. Rust bohat jaldi lagta hai. AC ki useful life kam ho jati hai.
3. Outdoor se continuos pani roof pe ata hai jis se ceiling mein nami aa jati hai.
Bohat takleef hai to aisa kar lein, warna is k nusan faiday se ziada hain.

There could be another ides, have a Fan usually used within or extracted from redundant Servers or Old PCs. 4" type and run on 12VDC. Istall them with in the Outdoor for cooling the condensor either using 12 VDC produced somewhere on Board or IMP or connect through another 12 VDC adapter it may take 10 - 12 watt power but will cool down the condensor and reduce the bill as well. Even if i had to cool down the compressor using water. I will place some metallic pipe / other plastic etc (keep fill it with water and let hot condensor to evaporate the water and cool down itself). This will avoid chances of rusting.
You are right. You may adopt the desert cooler spraying mechanism as well

Yea, but very soon the condenser will dry and need another spray of water; a continuous dripping of water is best.

Wastage of Tap water, usually the outdoors are installed higher. Also, due to the low bend, the water will accumulate and start dripping in indoor unit. Ye idea toh chal sakta hai, per Jo assembly scheme dikhai , wo bilkul sahi nahj

Water will oxidize aluminum fins of the condenser and in a period of time condenser will loose it's efficiency and will need to be replaced.

These are invariably faced in seaside Vicinity areas; 1) The atmosphere is full of high humidity mixed with very tiny seawater droplets entrainment. This condenses as due on outer units of all split AC's. Also causes very severe fast rate corrosion of each and every single thing exposed. (If outdoor unit's cover kept open for any slight opening or slit AC outdoor unit's cover,
2) In many area houses, now a days AC technicians, Place Split AC's outer units on roof tops and much higher levels where water head to have this sprayed on condenser top as guided is not possible!!!
