I give it a C- . John goes out by suicided, Taylor's multi -cameos (PLEASE!) , waiting on how will Beth kill Jamie (no bodyguards, really?) Oh and Beth again taking the beat of an inch of her life and having SUPER heal powers. Just a sample.

@@TasteofCountryMusic I liked “Horizon”. I was looking forward to Part 2. I won’t add Costner’s name to the term “hack”, anymore than I would name any of the other actors, because they weren’t responsible for the creation, writing, nor filming the show. Sheridan made that all too clear. Yellowstone started out good. There was much to build upon. But instead it got watered down with each season as other shows started coming forward. It could have been a great show but instead as other shows began consuming chunks of the creativity Sheridan had to give, it dwindled. There were too many loose ends, weak story lines, and too many fillers. It’s too bad when the medium needs good tv.

The episode went as expected. The ending was no surprise.
The acting of miss Reilly however, made this episode enjoyable. She will be the one carrying the tension through future episodes.
We might all see Taylor attempt to coax the same method out of others in the future.

No, you definitely are not the only one who feels that way--but I ended up liking her. I very much disliked her in Season One-even stopped watching for a while until my children urged me to give it another try. As each season progressed, different elements of her were revealed and shown that deep down she had some redeeming qualities. She won me over.

B+. I think you have to look at season 5 in the context of the entire series. Not every episode is a little slice of heaven, every show has its clinkers. My biggest complaint with Sheridan is he puts too many irons in the fire. Look, write a series, shoot it and edit it. Then start writing the next series. He takes too long to get us from point A to Z. I did like the Isabel May (Elsa) narration to end the episode.

I'd name the last episode "The only one that matters is Beth"
I'm so extremely happy that I'll never see those weird lips again. Her character was insufferable. I never once as a woman was excited and thought, "Now that's a strong woman right there!" I spent 4 seasons waiting for John to give her one good pop in the mouth.
Casey never had a problem with Jamie, he hated his father and the ranch but I'm suppose to believe he's perfectly fine with him being murdered to "avenge" his father and the ranch??? Make it make sense.
Beth and John both hated Jamie for the majority of his life but expected complete loyalty from him?? Jamie should have shot Beth during one of the numerous times she ambushed and attacked him.
Beth treats everyone poorly including people she "loves." Her dramatics at the funeral of driving off to it like an idiot leaving Rip and Carter behind is just one of numerous examples of how self-centered she is. Nobody would like a person like this in real life but yet this character is loved by many??
Beth gets zero pass for not being able to have children. Her character was portayed as a know-it-all psycho even when she was younger running around to bars hitting on grown men but I'm suppose to believe sje was completely ignorant on how to solve her pregnancy dilemma without Jamie?? Again, make it make sense.
I was initially shocked at the way her mother was towards her in the flashback but now I just think her mother was completely aware that she birthed the anti-christ🤷‍♀️
Won't be watching any spin-off of this psycho.
Teeter was the best character of them all ❤

  • @trudyspeigner2371

Very disappointing. This series got progressively worse after Season 3. I don’t blame Costner, I blame Sheridan. That’s the difference between a writer and a hack. Who killed Sarah Atwood? Where was Rip’s rage? Why was the final show so much about Beth? WHY did Colby die? If Teeter was wanted at 6666, they could have moved them both. So many unanswered situations. How about one more poker scene or a horse performing? The ending was horrible. If losing Costner cost the legacy of this show, keeping him should have made it impossible to leave. I rate Season 5 a D for DUD. So sad.

I think it is Pretty obvious that the People Sarah Hired to Kill John Killed her because She was a loose end that they were worried about thought that was explained fairly well Rip was more worried about Saving Beth Than Being Mad at Jamie My guess is Colby had a contract dispute that is usually the reason for Random seeming Deaths

    • @trudyspeigner2371
      @trudyspeigner2371 4 дня назад +2

@ I agree on why Sarah was killed. What I want to know is who killed her. The man she hired called someone when it was announced via NewsBreak on tv if whoever was on the other end had seen the news. In my mind I assumed it was Market Equities people, but I want to know who killed her. Rip could take care of Beth. That’s the husbandly thing to do. But Rip is so loyal to John. Being there for Beth when she gets home is not his thing. I don’t want an evolved Rip who throws drinks in a made for show fireplace. Rip is action not laying on the sofa waiting for Beth. It was all so fake.

First 2 seasons were some of the greatest television in a while. Pretty downhill from there. Beth's unjustified hatred of Jaimie was so played out that the ending left a pretty unsatisfactory taste. The entire hysterectomy plot line was shark officially jumped.
Show suffered form having pretty good to great villains through its early run and no time to establish a villain to get behind. Jaimie was a flop from the writing and didn't feel worth it. Beth's overall attitude was pretty played out too.
Overall I thought they did pretty good w/ what they had to work w/. Was bothered w/ the assistant quitting her job so she could play a role in the plot only to never see her again lol. And Taylor bugged me once he became a returning character. Fun at first, but the entire 6666 flex wasn't subtle lol. Overall tho, id say B- ish

A 3 or a C in your rating system. The disconnect in scripts, Sheridan constantly inserting himself, focusing too much of taking down the ranch, the Summer thing and once again Beth gets her face smashed in. Too much of that kind of scene again. I was disappointed, but after 2 years, I really didn't care. Beth, the kid relationship just left hanging "You get to sleep in." Really. Glad it's over.
Not getting super hopeful on 1923 Sheridan had too much on his plate with other shows and that came across. It's like he gets bored and starts writing another prequel or a completely different show.

I give Season 5 a B. I quite enjoyed the scenes in part 1 of going out in the field or up the mountains with the herd. The part 2 "murder mystery" had aspects to it that were quite interesting. Seeing Kayce step up was good. But overall, there were so many moneymaking plans that Beth came up with that were just forgotten and never employed. Much was just dropped. I do appreciate you folks talking about the scene with Lynette and Clara, where Clara was going to spill the beans about what she knew. I kept waiting for that to happen... So I appreciate your take that when Jaime hears on the news about his relationship with Atwood, that that info supposedly came from Clara. It should have been more overt... The funeral was well done. I figured from S1 that the land would eventually return to the Native Americans, although I thought it would be specifically through Tate somehow. Some of the details were forced a bit to get to the goal, but OK. I remain ambivalent about Jaime's death as the "villain". I would have gone in a different direction with him in the end, but that's all I'll say. The endings for everyone else left them in a fairly good place, and I was thankful for that.

I’d go so far as saying the ending of Yellowstone killed any interest I had in the prequels and I was SUPER excited for 1923 s2. I generally dont like getting wrapped up in TV. I only began binge-watching seasons 1 thru 3 becsuse I was down with Covid. Luckily, season 4 came out soon after I finished 3. I was really put off it took 2 years to produce and drag out 5. I eventually realized I didnt really like any of the main characters. Jamies death was unnecessary. Beth has been so full of hate for him. I waa really disgusted in her last scene walking out onto the front porch of her new ranch and seeing her murderous husband working in the field. The look of peace and contentment on her face was disturbing. I cant see a spinoff series on these two. Too much baggage for them both to have a realistic normal life.

She walks out of an exploding building, sits down, and smokes a cigarette. Gets raped and smokes a cigarette. Kills Jamie and smokes a cigarette. Lol wtf! Was smoking her superpower? What happened to the little boy at the side of the road that John Dutton was helping his Mom and him out when John got shot? The Summer side show was a joke. Really, she ends up living at the ranchl.
