hello @kyle2635 - thanks for watching and commenting, very much appreciated! I have fun making the videos, and even more fun eating the end results (good or bad). Take care and enjoy the channel! Smoke on - The Lost Canuck
Hello @gosman949 - thanks for watching and commenting, as it is much appreciated! Yes, the pit is excellent and from Texas. If you want good BBQ, I always look to Texas! There are several very good pit manufacturers in Texas, and Lone Star Grillz makes some of the best ones out there; their 42" pellet grill in my humble opinion is the BEST pellet grill. I also appreciate the fact that the entire unit is 100% made in USA (pit Texas, controls Kansas), and my money stays here. I also really like the Meat Church and Sucklebusters rubs (both Texas companies) on the meats I put on the pit. There are plenty of options, but they are my faves. Take care, and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
Hi @henrylewis7652 - Thanks for watching and commenting. It got even colder by morning - I woke up to -22F! I am jealous of the Florida weather. Oh well, summer is coming they say :) Take care, and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
165-155 is nuking them. Looks like they were closer to 140-145. I'm looking at getting this pit (I'm in ND) so I appreciate the cold weather content! Helps tremendously.
Hi @ryananderson3824 - thanks for watching and commenting, always appreciated! Yeah, the steaks got away from me a little when I was searing them (core drifted up higher than I expected). They turned out good/medium, at about 148F to 150F when I actually got the probe into the center of the steak. I like 'em more rare, but the kid likes 'em more done :). It's an awesome pit, as I currently have 3, and this one is my favourite! It's so easy to use and user friendly. The only issue I had when it was super cold was that the LCD screen lags between functions, and the rubber buttons on the side become almost inoperable. That is ok, as everything can be 100% done from the app. The FireBoard app is truly amazing! I hope the video helped, as I really enjoy making them. Take care, and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
Hello my friend, steaks look great. I'm so looking forward to my LSG pellet grill shipment. Question for you, what made you choose the LSG, I saw you were using your Blazin pellet grill? Was it cooking capacity? Features? Materials? Do you still have your Blazin ?
Hello @Welles818 - thanks for watching the channel and commenting! That is exciting that you chose the LSG grill, likely the last pit you will ever need. Welcome to the LSG family! Just keep it clean, dry, and use dry pellets. I also like to empty the burn pot after every cook, as it's pretty easy and helps keep the pit insides clean from ash. I do have a Blaz'n Grand Slam grill as well, and a third "Big Box Store" entry level grill. I will keep the little Blaz'n grill in the video arsenal for now. I will still make videos using it along with the LSG, as it helps people decide what they want. The LSG unit is the best of the best, but there is also a price tag for that. The Blaz'n is also a made in USA grill at a price point of about half of the LSG (with the options/shipping that I have - LSG was about $3900 and Blaz'n was $1900). I think if you want a decent "made in America" grill at a good starting/entry point, the Blaz'n Grand Slam and the Smokin' Brothers 24" are excellent value choices. If you want the best of the best, then Lone Star Grillz pellet grills is a great choice. The Grand Slam is 24" wide, and the LSG is 42" wide, so for smaller cooks like a chicken on some burgers, I'll just pull out the Grand Slam. For larger cooks like briskets, turkeys, hams, big racks of ribs, or cooks that require a decent sear, I'll pull out the LSG. The LSG is built heavier (all minimum 3/16" steel), yes, and will last forever. In my Blaz'n review, I mentioned that the grill is heavier than a big box store grill, and if you take care of it, should last at least 15 years plus. The LSG also has the best controller (FireBoard Labs) and the FB app that goes with it. So much information at your fingertips. Yes, the Blaz'n unit has a controller and a wireless app ($225 option), but they are very rudimentary and simple. Depends on what you want. I'll be selling my third grill this spring (Louisiana Grills FP 1200) and cooking on my two units, and hopefully creating more fun content :) I hope this helps. Take Care and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
Hi Todd! Thanks for watching the channel and commenting! Sorry, no smell-o-vison. Maybe that's something we could develop :) . Steaks turned out great. I hope you and the family are doing well, and Happy New Year! Take Care. - The Lost Canuck
Hi @seapanther53 - thanks for watching and commenting, always appreciated and welcome. Yeah, I let it get away from me a little - I was pretty cold out there in the -10 weather 😆. I’ll keep a closer eye on it next time, as the internal drifted up when it was pulled. Still leaning this pit, but it’s the best one I have ever used or seen out there. Take care, stay warm, and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
Hello @seapanther53 - welcome to the LSG family! Don't forget to join the FB users group, lots of information and recipes for the LSG. This will likely be the last pit you need to buy. Just keep it clean, dry, and the pellets dry - just a couple of tips for a long and happy grill life. I like to empty the removable burn pot out after every cook. Take care, enjoy the grill and the many hours of grilling and enjoying good quality food! - The Lost Canuck
Great content! Thank you
