Thank you from Ukraine. I`m near my 40th and less than year ago I`ve started to obtaine psycologic help. Here, in Ukraine, it is sort of stygma and quite hard to take courage to begin the healing. Especially if you`re suffering from anxiety and allways shaming yourself in everything. But I did it :) And I started to look info about my problem. And thanks to Universe and social media I`ve found your account. You are talking with understandable words and about things that I've allready passed. Now I feel that my anxeity is not me and I feel great releif whyle listening you

Yes. 2010 Dark night of the Soul. Hospitalizations, pharmaceuticals. Lots of walking in the woods. An awakening moment of feeling complete bliss. 11 years later I’m a completely new person. And still on the journey of more looking inside to see how my being works.

Thank you for doing do work and bring it more to civilization. Sharing youre expirience is great, because we really have ro speak the truth. A lot of people are deeply traumatized and they dont even know it. I think we have many dark nights of soul. My started as anxious and believing that I was crazy, and wanted to go in hospital and to find some doctors who can wash that out of me. Some voice came out of me "I just cant do it anymore. I dont know what is driving me, but I want to see all of that". That was some deeper part of me suffering so much calling for me. And the real thing is that as much as I suffered I could come back to my old self. This is a life journey. So, thank you for youre support.

54 years old, diagnosed with ADHD last year, and have lived through several dark nights, not knowing why it was soooo haaaarrrddd So much brain fog, so many obstacles like PMDD (related to ADHD, too) and found this by searching for tools to help emotional intelligence and maturity. Backtracking from that episode because I liked it so much. Your generation leading the way ❤

I’ve been in a journey of change for a year and my biggest struggle is consistency.
I have a huge list of changes that NEED to happen. Some changes NEEDS OTHER changes to happen first…. But ALL of the changes are equally important…. SO I AM SPINNING!!!! I am not being successful enough to have my work really make a difference. If that makes sense…??? I don’t know how to focus on 1 or 2 things. I’m Overwhelmed

I lost my mother at 15 and 2yrs ago I out lived her now that was a really hard time for me. I never hated or was angry with her for leaving she lived a very painful life on this planet and I truly believe she is not hurting anymore. She was not one I communicated with about anything going on with me we did have a very affectionate relationship but that's where it ended. What I would of loved and really miss is having an adult conversation with her like so many womyn I know that don't take that opportunity with their mothers or mother figures that really make me go like why not. For 31 yrs now I've been healing that huge gap in my heart and soul of losing my mother at such a young age. And no my mom was not an addict just really hurt human being that died of those hurt feelings through cancer that started in her breast and generalized in the the end.
I miss you mom I wish you were here love you 😍

Nicole, I so resonate with everything with what you recall from your childhood and all your symptoms , the brain fog, the disassociation from everyone around you, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, panic attacks etc etc. I am 71 years old and it has only been since last year that I finally found out I had CPTSD and that realisation came after having a nervous break down. I had mental health problems all my adult life and just mainly got along on auto pilot most of that time. I have your book and only just found these videos which are perfect for me as I love reading but finding it hard to focus and I find these podcasts on YT make learning so much easier. I discovered that it's the disregulation of my nervous system at the core of my problems, which makes sense after the trauma of lack of bonding or nurturing from my Mother in my childhood, and being molested at the age of 14 years old. Like a lot of people I have tried many healing modalities over the years, some helped for a short time, but never really got to to heal it completely. I so desperately want to heal my nervous system and get to grips with all aspects of my mental health. I have lost so many opportunities and relationships, and money in my life due to childhood trauma that I am still hoping I can turn it around and fulfils my dreams even at the age of 71years old.

Is this channel still active? I just found you today. I’ve been going through the dark night since the beginning of the plandemic. The mask mandates brought back memories of traumatic experiences with a former boyfriend. I have had a colorful life. I relate to much of what each of these women described. I’m now 62 feel like I’m playing catch-up with the 30-something’s who got this already.

I just found this channel by chance Dr Nicole. I have your book although I am yet to read it due to brain fog. To have a podcast which actually talks through the chapters of your book is amazing and just what I need.
I was raised by emotionally neglectful and emotionally dysregulated parents and then I married a covert narcissist. I was in a toxic dynamic for 47 years of my life . I am 2 years out and everyday is a school day on learning how life should really feel like. I am finally recognising and processing my emotions instead of shutting them out. I understand that when i shake, it is my anxiety kicking in. I know what dissociation is but spent years not understanding why I was blanking out. I have so much to learn but thankfully there are people like you who are willing to help others because of what you have experienced. Thank you.

Amazing, I must share of the Shadow Work that I am working on for a second time in my life. Identifying with the discussion, today I have reached an awakening! Having a understanding that I can now take action, again. I can eliminate the auto pilot in order to move forward. Thanks for expressing the spiritual/religious aspect in relation to a science.

I noticed you put up a short recently on codependent parenting. I have an 11 month old who is refusing to eat enough or drink enough milk most of the time but he is very thoughtful and considerate. As a former childcare worker, one of my favorite strategies dealing with a toddler child in a situation like this would be to appeal to his better nature by explaining that its my job to make sure he gets fed and therefore even if he wont eat it for his own sake, would he perhaps be willing to eat his snack to help me out a bit.
As a mom, i have found some small success in asking my baby boy to eat "one last bite for mommy" or explaining why its important for him to eat and that i worry if he doesnt eat enough and i could feel a whole lot better about it if he would just eat the minimum of what he absolutely needs so i wouldnt have to worry if hes healthy. Of course he is 11 months old and while his language understanding is incredibly advanced for his age it is still extremely limited and im not sure how much of what im saying is being understood; but i am also making a conscious effort to create healthy patterns of speech and interaction with him early on so that it will already be a habit. So my question is, in this scenario, would you say that it is unhealthy to make it about me- to not have to worry if hes eating enough, if making it about him almost never works, but this tactic does seem to work more often than not. [Note: It may or may not be relevent that i am an autistic mom of an 11 month old who has no sign of developmental delay, but who statistically has a blindingly high chance of being neurodivergent in some form or fashion.]

Thank you for these deep authentic shares. I have had two dark nights of the soul that were a dramatic metamorphic experience. I literally lost all capacity to rely on everything I had studied, learned and relied on as my path. I felt as if my brain went unplugged, my vision blurred and my tether severed. This tether or connection that I relied heavily on disappeared. I felt like I was floating alone in space, in this world, with no belonging or guidance. I was unable to read or get any help from the outside. Very alone and scary. A year of horrible dark pain until I finally let go. The renaissance came from the humble yet deep realization that there was nothing to be connected to and therefore the connection was never severed BECAUSE I can’t be disconnected from what I already am. That is where a new journey began. Thank you for your authentic share.

So very grateful, for such minds and talks/ books in the " self help" category. But this is deeper to me....the awareness of the darkness....people are just too damn scared to recognize it! I mean, I get that too, but being on the other side of the " woo, woo" I am much more free. Free to release or welcome new thought forms, my own thoughts, being welcomed and not judged. You don't know what you don't know right, but to not sit with emotions and look at them and work out your own process, is just a travesty to me. Of course this is coming from the other side, so it it's easy and actually pleasurable to do so, even with the pain that can be experienced. THANK YOU LADIES FOR SHARING AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORKS!!!!! Life altering in the best way imaginable and I feel a sister-hood with you gorgeous gals.🥰💜🤗

I am in complete shock that you two women described everything that I went/am going through. My dark nights have been happening since childhood. They are a complete surprise when they happen. I have found a deep connection with nature mainly trees when they do happen. I work in Healthcare and have a deep connection with the passing too. I have so much I want to share because u two described everything that I have been going through my whole life in the exact order. I thought the brain fogs were normal. The brain fogs get so bad sometimes that I forget what I am going to say in the middle of a sentence. Everything seems so heightened. I’m pretty sure ( based off experience) that the majority of the dark night experiences is nothing more than childhood trauma coming to the surface.
A type of ptsd.... mostly in the form of emotional flashbacks..... vs visual.
I am also confident that only Christ (not Christianity nor religion) is ultimately the only answer to healing the soul wound.
The deeper we look inside, the more desolation you will probably find because we were made to be united with the creator and only him/her can “fill” and heal that void.

I just preordered your new workbook and decided I needed to restart my journey with “How To Do the Work”. I get super ‘itchy’? Restless? Afraid?! I’m thinking afraid is the better word, with this work and I have to stop and step away. Similar to being afraid of heights and walking out into a very high walking bridge and having to come back each time I try to venture out. And then I just stopped trying.
Is that ‘normal’ or common? Any advice? Or is that something I will get if I keep reading?

I don’t know why I’m so dissatisfied with my life when I’m with the one person I wanted to be with in my life and we have 3 cats who we love so much and we have our own place and I have high paying job but somehow it all doesn’t feel like how I thought it should. It feels like I can’t even be alone with myself. I have to call people or talk to people or be around people because being alone is scary.

haha "I ran screaming anything that is religion or spirituality!" Don't poo poo the woo woo! They say the unholy trinity is "science - religion - politics"

It’s crazy I actually grew up in a very strict religious family. However we still had all the dysfunctional norms that were mentioned in this podcast. I remember trying to be the best Christian person I could be in order to have God finally fix my mess. I had no idea I would be the one to fix my own life. #selfhealer 💚
