    Darrington Press has released Version 1.3 of Daggerheart TONIGHT, April 9th 2024! Two long-time GMs/Friends (primarily DnD 5e) talk version changes to the newest TTRPG system from the creative minds at Darrington Press, Critical Role's game publishing group.

    Hi Everyone! So exciting to see the engagement on this video! One point of clarification - in the early part of the video (around 00:10:50) I talk about the unlink of Damage Thresholds and Stress and that it seemed like even if the GM hits sometimes, it won't do any level of damage. I take that back - later in the video (around 00:27:40) we found that the Minimum Threshold is always (I believe) set to 1 so this mitigates that concern. Thanks for bearing with us while we're diving into materials at such an early stage!

    Once you download the new stuff, there's also a list of things that changed on the first few players of the full guide.
    You don't take any damage below the minor threshold, but outside of Guardian people's minor will be 1, and they can't change that without at least split classing into Guardian. G is the only class that can alter that (by taking Stalwart subclss). Which to me sounds REALLY dangerous. It sounds like a lot of groups are going to hit tpk. I guess we'll see.
    They said in the previous version to ignore typos and grammar and they will be working on that in the final polish phases.
    Be sure your bard knows that Rally is ONCE PER SESSION. The people keep their individual use until they use it, but she can only rally and give out the dice once.
    They need a 'Regular length' (strength) sword. It's weird the only regular length is mace.
    I've only been reading the rules too, but I've submitted like 4 feedbacks. Just put "n/a" in those played question spots. Or the minimum amount.
    I'm very sad about the Wanderborne change. It seemed like it would be a lot of fun. The new version is like... bleh. (The old one let you have a 'useful item' once per session. I imagined things like my Wanderborne, who was super generous, would use it to give things like nice toys or stuffies to sad people they may have found on the street, or maybe a blanket if they are cold, etc.)

      That's a fantastic point - I didn't pull the manuscript up during this stream specifically but I do agree that for those of us who are REALLY engaged, that manuscript is a fantastic resource for the changes.
      Re: the minor thresholds, I did see that and talked about it a bit later but that's SUCH a good point... I'm really interested to see how it works but honestly, most of my hits so far are in higher than minor range as well at my table at least... excited to play more to see scaling issues as we progress though. Thanks for always being so active in our chats by the way, it means a lot

      Actually - one more question - I just reviewed all of the classes and I think even the Guardian's minor is 1... could you confirm? Thanks so much for being an awesome resource!

      @@TheFaintDivinities Oh their minor starts at 1, but once you take the Stalwart subclass all of those bounce up by +2. Soooo... it's only 1 for a second. ;)

      @@rabb1tdotcom-ie3vk OMGGGG that's amazing!!! I didn't get that far in my review of that class sheet! Wow... well there it is, there's the exception to my rule! Absolutely wild! How do you feel about that ruling?

      @@TheFaintDivinities i guess we'll have to see from future changes due to feedback, but it feels like a LOT of people would feel like they had to split class into Stalwart Guardian at 5 to get both the boost in hp thresholds as well as unstoppable. It kind of seems necessary for someone who's a 'front line tank', since there are no other way to bump all the thresholds. (From what I recall character level bumps is only one, and like one other class gets bumps, but again, it's only one of them, not all.) Though maybe 'damage mitigation' will be more of a thing when we get more expanded item lists. Even looking at the higher tier stuff in the DMs area there don't seem to be a lot of items yet.
      I think maybe some of the current level up things may be incorporated into just general level up, like maybe you get a free stat bump at 5 and 8 instead of 'paying' for them (in addition to optional ones), and then maybe the options of what to up is expanded. Right now it seems kind of like if you don't do stat points and at least some proficiency you would be 'unoptimal', making it less of a choice than it feels like.
      Again, we'll see in time. :)
