What a great interview. It went on for an hour because the questions were thoughtful and intelligent. You made a connection with your subject and allowed him to express himself openly. Very cool indeed. Devin has an interesting mixture of raw talent, sensitivity, artistic anarchy and being a little bit bonkers, but in a really cool creative way. I am late to the Devin party, but am really enjoying catching up. Cheers from Kuwait.

    Thanks for saying that !
My family has a new expression...
    “I’ve got nuttin”
it’s like I don’t even have the juice to walk the dogs, play guitar, sometimes I can’t even watch tv.
So at one point I realized that this is “Covid Crazy” and I started ‘forcing’ myself to START things.
I literally wrote a list of 5 tasks, and would go from one to the next, sometimes for just a few minutes (then... “I got nuttin”) and then, magically, instead or going back to sleep or vegging at the tv, I’d go to the next task.
Study production, gardening, record, organize our storage, play music, walk dogs.
    read, bike...
Any order, go with the flow, but DO !!!
After a few weeksI realized that I hadn’t used our new catchphrase in quite a while.
So thanks Devin for saying that, and for helping me (and all of us) know that we’re all in this sh*t together !!
    😊❤️🎶

If you go into Devin's music with that metalhead state of mind you're gonna have a bad time. That's why over a decade ago when a friend tried to get me into him I didn't like a lot of it, because I was 15 and in that close narrow minded way of thinking that anything not metal is bad. I tried Devin's music again around 4 years ago after becoming a huge fan of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Mastodon, Tool, Dream Theater and a bunch of prog stuff and now he's one of my all time favourites and he was actually the last gig I went to on the Empath tour before corona happened.

@ the first few min and video games, it's simply a thing of people are so different and that's ok. For him he has no interest in video games and it seems like work, but he can spend countless hours messing about on one of his guitars. Whereas someone else trying to learn stuff on a guitar it would feel like work and they would lose interest. Yet with his music he can be on the same wavelength as these people. "Music brings people together" is trite but true
