I really like these Andertons videos since the time when Pete has joined with Lee doing these product demos. Pete is such a nice and positive spirit guy! So keep on rocking and sending these marvellous videos! Petes brillant playing is often demonstrating what the product will show case in most of us guitar nerds.

Blown away by both the Great Dane and Captain Lee!! I’ve been following y’all for quite a few years now and Captain Lee’s playing has become pro. Not a novice! Pete’s progress is artistry. I heard Danish Pete praise the Captain’s vibrato years ago and it was and still is something I aspire to. Love it guys!! Thank you!❤❤

I actually had an 80’s Epiphone Les Paul Special and I know it was probably a p.o.s. but I really miss that thing. I didn’t even know what the Special meant back then. I was just stoaked to have a guitar that looked like Jimi Page’s.
All of those look amazing, I do agree that Dave Grohl helped popularized the Trini Lopez and he has his signature DG-335 but they all look and sound incredible… I’d definitely rock that SG Custom and red 335
I agree 100%, I’ve recently just sold an ES-335 and an SG Custom to get my R9 Les Paul and watching this makes me miss those two big time

Man, I've literally played my whole life- over 30 years now- and I've never even gotten to hold a guitar this nice, much less play one or own one. The nicest thing I have is an Epiphone Les Paul I bought 16 years ago when I won a court case and got paid. That said- she's a damn nice Epi man- it was made in China best I can tell- in the DaeWon facility in 2007. Tbh I didn't expect China to turn out a nice guitar, but this is one of the best Epiphones I've ever played.
It needs new guts though- after 16 years of heavy use, gigging steadily for 6 years, she's finally started giving me issues- sounds exceedingly dark and when you adjust the volume on the neck pickup it cuts out like there's a loose wire or something. Also, the toggle switch seems to have some issues and also will cause it to cut out if you wiggle it around too much. Plus, my nephew borrowed it for a year when I bought my Strat, and he really screwed it up. He tried to intonate it and got it all messed up, the little inserts that go into the bridge aren't fitting in like they're supposed to anymore. He adjusted the pickup heights and I can't get them back right, he even managed to strip out one of the pole pieces in the neck pickup. Now it just sits in the hole and spins in place, you can't raise or lower it. So- I'm going to install new pups, new pots, new toggle, new input jack- totally new guts. And I'm going to upgrade the bridge, find something a bit more stable and easier to intonate. I'm basically going to try and turn it into the Adam Jones Les Paul from Gibson. Burst bucker in the neck pos. and a higher gain pickup at the bridge- CTS pots, Switch Craft input jack, and the best toggle I can find. But now I have to figure out where in North Alabama I can get all this done. Could do it myself I guess, but I really don't want to mess it up. I would rather my first project be something a little less important to me.

Just a heads up, but the timestamp/link calls the LP Special a LP junior.
My first nice guitar was a 1997 Special in cherry, I really wish it had come with p90s instead of p100s but I still love that guitar, such a simple bit of kit - and it was pretty well priced when I picked it up as NOS in 2002.
Just love how the SG just sounds completely different! 🔥
They are all nice! I own an ES 195 in black which is basically an ES 175 but thinner with a Trini Lopez neck and a Bixby trem. Two 57 classic Humbuckers.
I remember Trini Lopez. I also remember a TL Sig in the window of Selmer's in Cherry Sunburst (like a 1960 Les Paul) and it lookd glorious... Best, Pete

Loved this! Please do a review of the Gibson USA Original Series ES models (when in stock!). Especially so I can be convinced that they are still epic enough to buy instead of the much more expensive Custom Shop models!!! 😬
I have a custom 335 and a USA (figured ) one. Both recent models. They are BOTH great guitars and I play them both. There is a difference in feel and sound but, you will not be disappointed with a USA one. I also have a 335 from 1990 ( owned from new) and it rivals the custom shop purely from 30 years of playing. ie. A modern USA will only improve with age. Hope that helps?

It’s crazy that what was an entry-level/student guitar now fetches custom shop prices simply because of its age, brand and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard.
Daaayum, Cap‘s playing has gotten so incredibly much better. Remember the days of that dreadful lick that Pete makes fun of now and then? Every once in a while Cap makes a real jump forward, and this video is such a jump again. Really lovely playing!

Ohhh mannnnn!!! I would do secret things for that T.V Yellow LP!!! JKJKJK....I bet it would sound amazing for thrash metal riffs and high gain classic rock leads . IDK if it the Murphy Lab treament or what but the Gibson logo on the headstock looks visually perfect. They (Gibson) should keep that up. Thanks for the video guys!!

It’d be kinda cool to see him tone match your pedalboards. I love Pete’s tone in this one and really all the time,so it’d be neat if there was say,a tone matched helix preset to achieve the same tones

I miss the DG 335 that Gibson did for a while. Trini Lopez neck with hard tail bridge.
The middle switch position on 3-pickup Gibsons selects the middle and bridge pickups out of phase. It’s kind of a nasal quacky sound. In their 1950s description Gibson described it as being for “extreme highs and special effects”.

@@_caseyjames its a joke. For what i am able to do just by playing hard or soft, my bandmate needs a pedal for it. i go straight into a clean fender, got selfbuild distortion, reverb and thats freakin it. its amazing (:
@@pandabaer5552 yeah I never really got the whole humbucker thing for this sort of tone.
For me humbuckers are great for sort of Jazz & then super heavy soaring lead tones or heavy rhythm.
The trini is on another level.

Elvis Costello's dad Ross McManus had a hit with 'If I Had A Hammer' (backed by The Joe Loss Orchestra). He also starred in the R. Whites Lemonade advert: "I'm a secret lemonade drinker, R. Whites, R. Whites..." and wrote the song. Elvis is famously a Jazzmaster guy, and credited himself as "the little hands of concrete" on one LP because that's how the producer described his playing.

For me it would have to be between the 335, and the special. They both sound amazing, but that 335 just takes it.
Been to the store twice now, never have and don't think I'll be venturing to the gallery any time soon, kinda afraid I'd be spoiled for all my actual guitars.

Didn't the original Trini Lopez models have "pointy" horns rather than the rounded ones? Seems like Gibson took a 335 and put a Fender set-neck on it...
For me the SG because I'm such a 'tart' ( ffs you tube you put your advert smack bang in the middle of Capn sustain note which was the equivalent of an interrupted w**k ! Allegedly) then the Cherry 335 ❤
