Hey Dorothy : I watch you from a foreign country country, UK to be specific. I feel your experience in kenya, a foreign country with kids and husband, but hey 6 months have gone. The most important think is that you have braved it and I'm happy that you made kenya your home. I won't lie to you, there have been challenges and more may come your way but it's how you face them and adapt to them. But certainly you will enjoy being in kenya than in America. Welcome home.
Yes Jacques your right! 🥰🤌🏾 I do enjoy life here so much more than in America I knew there had to be more to life than the one ☝🏾 I was living. I will keep moving forward for there’s no sense in looking back. Just so very happy we didn’t listen to the naysayers and we moved in Gods will! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I appreciate you as a supporter so much! Asante Sana for your kind words! 🫶🏾🙌🏾💯
As a Kenyan who has lived in America for a decade...all I can say is KARIBU NYUMBANI!! Africa is your home and your BIRTHRIGHT!!! NOBODY should ever make you feel like you don't belong! 💯🦾
I discovered your channel today and i cant believe it has taken me this long, i have probably watched all your Videos😅, subscrribed too.. welcome home and tunakupenda
Asante sana @ Dorothy Musa for making Kenya your home, as mentioned many "AAs" move to Ghana maybe bcoz of their publicity of their year of return thing and yes there are 54 countries on the continent to chose from including Kenya, you made the right choice as Kenya outperform Ghana on some indices including the economy and a perfect weather. The fear of the unknown, no one escapes this whichever place you want to go and once you're there one thing never leaves you, missing your loved ones/place of origin and so learning to cope is very important while also embracing new culture of your new home.
Ndio! I’m glad Kenya 🇰🇪 was our first stop on this amazing continent! I’m definitely going to explore the other countries, however I truly feel that Kenya will always have my ❤️ I’d love to build here! Ndio Ghana 🇬🇭 markets well and there’s a ton of AA I heard there! I’ll visit. I’m glad I stayed here for there were countless times I wanted to just get back to comfort and the “normality of my old life” I knew I need to stay though for this life the people weather etc is everything I dreamed of! I appreciate you and your support! 🙏🏾🫶🏾💯
I love your video and how open you are. I can relate with seeing the good in all people!!. You have a lot of courage, to do what you’ve done, more than I. You motivate me!!!!
It’s exciting to see where you use to live and memories pop up! I get it! I see my old street and get excited about that 😂. Glad you enjoy the video! 🙏🏾🤗
I appreciate your honesty because me and my wife are about ready to do the same thing and she is afraid because we’re going to Ghana because we know some people there, but we know no one in Kenya,I will be showing her your video. And would love any advice or help we can receive. Be Blessed
Congratulations on the move! I’m so happy for you and your wife! 😃🙌🏾 I’m glad you got a sense of peace while watching my video. My advice would be to embrace the unknown. Connect with like minded people such as us and stay connected to each other as well as build a home here. Connect with the locals and explore and learn your area. The quicker you do that. The sooner you’ll feel comfortable with the area your in.
The last thing any AA...ASouth American, ACarribean is that they won't be welcomed anywhere (reservations on Northern Africa though..) in Africa. Asante for getting that message out, from an informed and experience point. Also be advised, an African friendship has a firmer foundation. Tuko pamoja.

Love your channel. You always keep it real. Your feeling and emotions are honest and pure. My fear? A black AA woman, retired and coming alone. Question: Not knowing what you didn't know before you got there, would you have come alone?
First off I thank you Asante Sana 🙏🏾 for seeing me and appreciating me for me! Now to your queen YES YES! 😃 I would have come alone!! There’s soo many single women I met here in the expat group that came here alone and travel to other countries alone! There soo inspiring. I would have been one of them I just met my hubby at a very early age ☺️😆 I’m so glad that I have a partner that moves in faith and is a great supporter in this family! We came here never visiting not knowing anyone just by faith and knowing that the life we wanted and desired can be achieved here! I’d say move in faith and follow what drives you! I’d come here 1000 times over! 1000 times over by myself! I’m actually going to visit a country by myself! Hopefully this year we’ll see 🤗 🇬🇭 hope this helps you 🤗

Ndio the lifestyle here is just simpler more family oriented and peaceful to me and the way people treat each other here like humans! Even arguing is passive!
