I hate people being annoyed at our ancestors for getting us to the place we are now. We have rights, we can go to school and work. These are amazing things to have.
lol the annoyed girls must've have boogie ancestors.. women are always working their ass off throughout history and not fluttering their pink dress... the poor ones atleast

Why are the present versions angry at the historical ones asking "oh we can go to school now?" I mean we only we have these rights because women's rights activists fought for it then
Not to mention how inaccurate they are. Girls went to school in the 18th and 19th centuries and saying that "oh we can work now" is sooo upper class centric. Are we just going to forget about the Lowell mill girls and all the women who worked in factories at this time?

On my FYP and on my RUclips shorts, I'm thankful I never encountered the "pff, okay" ones. I think they didn't get the point of the trend, and thought "oh, this ancestor is just jealous". Like, no, the point of the trend is that the ancestors are PROUD of how the world is turning out in many cases, or to show that some aspects have never changed (such as women still wearing eyeliner).

So many of these are so inaccurate. Especially the ones about queerness and women working/going to school
Also the ones about ancestors dying when drinking modern soda is really funny because people forget that people had literal drugs and toxins in their drinks only like 100 years ago. We would have died if we drank their soda as well

Portugal and Spain were ruled by fascists tilll 1970s so yes there were countries were women couldn't vote till 70s.
And in Swiss women are able to vote since 1971.

Covid-19-time: I lost my job. Employment agency officer insists on me applying for incredibly unsuitable jobs too far away from where I live. I refused. He asked: what does your husband think about it? Well... in our present time I have the right and the freedom to tell him "Up yours!" because I have my own bank account and my man backs me up. I do NOT have to ask him for permission for anything. I am so thankful to my women ancestors...

To be fair women in Switzerland didn't get the right to vote until 1970 and that is around the time women in America were able to open independent bank accounts and take out loans in their own name.

Not everywhere in the world. Parts of Switzerland for example did not allow women to vote until 1990. Liechtenstein was also pretty late with 1984. Not to mention countries where women still have NO RIGHT TO VOTE IN 2023!

from a woman to all women: be thankful. You can decide on your own.. where you live, what you learn, where you work, whom you marry - praise your ancestors for their fight for woman rights
