    My father is a huge muskie fanatic. All he wants in life is to get a 50+. He has been muskie hunting for over 40 years. I will get him subscribed to your show. We will be excited to see you this year and what insight you have. Good luck fishing this year.

    Thanks for the vid! Completely new to Muskie fishing... always been a bass fisherman. I'm getting bored of little green fish, so I'm hunting Muskie this year. I'm trying to sort out what size beads, blades, hooks and what colors work best just to get started. I'm in Rockford, IL and will be learning Muskie fishing here. I'll also be fishing the River... Castle Rock damn and south on the river... from my kayak. All that said... do you know of a definitive guide to sizes and colors by chance? Im sure a l lot is personal preference, but there's probably an "all around good" place to start. I've Googled to no avail. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I'd appreciate any info if ya have it. Take care!

      For starters, I use .051 wire, probably the most common. 1/4 inch beads, 5/0 hooks and whatever blade size you want. Smaller blades like size 8 in the spring. My personal favorite blade is a number 9 indiana, for singles and doubles. As far as colors are concerned, typically in dark water, I like orange, green or chartreuse blades. But certain lakes nickel, gold and copper work really well. If possible make one of each. For skirts, not sure how much it matters, can't go wrong with black or gold in my opinion. Use 3/8 oz egg sinkers for weight.

    What diameter hole did you drill in the vice? How far did you space the hole from the hole with the roller pin?

    • @JamesBeamOutdoors
      @JamesBeamOutdoors 5 лет назад

      1/16th inch drill bit for drilling directly between the jaws of the vice. A little larger for the pin. I made another one and used a small nail instead of a roll pin, and I liked it much better, just have to cut the nail to length before pounding it in the hole you drill. The holes are approximately 1/3 inch apart.

    what kind of blades do u prefer

    • @JamesBeamOutdoors
      @JamesBeamOutdoors 5 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the comment. My personal favorite blade is a #9 Indiana blade. They have a little different vibration than the colorado blades, and start right away. The kicker is they are less expensive than mag 8s or 10s. Let us know if you have any other questions, happy to help.

    Nice work, but I so wish you guys assembling these spinners would stop using yourselves as a backdrop and lay the spinner on some white cardboard.
