absolutely stunning what you did here. i mean, i`m so overwhelmed about the fact, that you arranged that with just these machines without any screen.....i belove that as much as i can. *RESPECT*!!! i wish i will one day be able to mention thingz like THIS! AWESOME & absolutely perfect, everytime when i watch and listen, i`m a fan of this track & show. hats off to you!!! ;)
Not sure what the signal chain is here but the TR-8 has a sidechain effect on its audio inputs. You can choose which steps of the pattern it is applied to and it has a knob for the depth of the effect.
Raffi Tchakmakjian oh no - that's a brain fail on my part, for some reason I saw the System-1 and thought TR-8 (and I have both). Sorry. Must be something else off camera, or some master compression
hey dude. very nice lives. I have seen a couple and suscribe. Can you answer a question plz? i think your opinnion will be very relevant. Your opinion about system 1 or korg minilogue? i have the system 1 but right know i am thinking og buying my 2nd synth.... what do you think i can add a minitaur or a minilogue, which of this? or the other option its replace the system 1 for minilogue and buy the minitaur? in your opinion which config its better for techno and genres like yours. thx
Could I theoretically use this setup to record to pc? How are these here connected to each other and how would I connect the end result to a computer? I am new to hardware, I want to spend less time on the computer as I am on the computer all day (work as a programmer) and can't stand being on that thing 24/7 anymore. I do want to record and mix in my daw though. EDIT: I read that you like the tr-8 more, is this also the case when comparing the new drumbrute impact vs tr-8?
It's not too hard or expensive to get a setup like this running into a DAW. Step 1: Sync midi clocks (buy MIDI cables and a midi thru unit, which can be cheap; I don't know the exact specs on the equipment in the video, but you can easily sync clocks as long as each unit has either a Midi in/out or CV in/out); Step 2: Run everything through a mixer (you can skip the mixer if you have an audio interface with multiple channels, but I prefer having one anyways); Step 3: If you're using a mixer, route mixer outputs into an audio interface; Step 4: Connect audio interface with DAW (very easy to do; plenty of RUclips vids to guide you through this process).
How do you get them to stick to your wall like that ?
a lot of UHU
hahahahaaaa
:D
:-D
I sometimes come back to this video just to read this comment
Those long arms. That's the secret to good synthesis

well done boy, lovely melody, straight to the techno, nice exersize! i´ll try it. TNX
so, no laptop, but I'm not seeing how/where the side-chain compression is occurring. Good stuff none the less.
Thought the exact same thing
the korg minilogue is capable of sidechain
Not sure what the signal chain is here but the TR-8 has a sidechain effect on its audio inputs. You can choose which steps of the pattern it is applied to and it has a knob for the depth of the effect.
ah, so the mix is going into a TR-8? Thanks for the response!
Raffi Tchakmakjian oh no - that's a brain fail on my part, for some reason I saw the System-1 and thought TR-8 (and I have both). Sorry. Must be something else off camera, or some master compression
Good inspiration and nice track! Now I wonder if I should get a minilogue... ;)

Where i can get the patch for the system-1with that sound?
Banger.
what camera did you use?:) super demo:)
How do you sync the system-1 to your drum Machine?
nive live act man.
drumbrute vs tr8 what do you think is the better choice ?
no hesitation for me, TR-8
+HighWav Thx man and why ?!
prefer the classic sound, and I prefer the knob, volume, fx's...
Wait you prefer knobs on the Brute but the TR-8 overall?
this sounds AWESOME. A quick question, how do you link all the midi cables up? Do you have 3 midi ports on your audio interface??
Every machines is connected on each other’s
Nice liveset
Very nice. :)
what do you use to syncronize these 3 devices?
veery nice! how did sync the machines? thanks for the music :)
with midi
Badass.
Nice
funny... thought right about this setup... just the mother 32 is missin´.. =D
well played :-)
Very nice!!!
Is this a Drumbrute kick?
No
DOPE!
YES
smashing
I like the Bonsai in the other video :)
nice thx
Niiiice !!
Is there a sequencer off-screen that's holding the Minilogue note? If not, how are you doing that? Doesn't look like the ML sequencer is running.
Roland system-1 : MIDI OUT
Minilogue : MIDI IN
Ooooh...of course. The Roland has a hold button, doesn't it. Maybe I need to re-route my midi to do that.

Saugeil!
how do you get the ducking effect?
Blake Foster side chain compression.
Joseph Gleespen yeah but with the drum brute? Or minilogue? Where did it come from?
Isn't it just an LFO on AM? If not I'd like to know how you sidechain in that setup aswell!
making bacon cooking eggs and popping corn
I totally hear all of that! lol
that arm. anyway, very nice session.
Drumbrute is processed
bien fat ! thx
phätt
sounds cool, except this "minimal sounds", they are disgusting
