Thanks for the great piece! I love your initiative of making certain pieces more affordable for schools or students with lower incomes. As a middle school band director, I can tell that you that many students will benefit greatly from this!
Wow, this is really lovely. To me the concept of forgiveness is presented with a degree of pain. The minor seconds, the sharp dampened notes, the longing for that loud chorus to come back. Offering forgiveness is not always easy. I am in love with this, bravo to the performer and to Mr. Trevino.
This is pretty incredible, and incredibly beautiful... It's not too often that the RUclips recommendations comes up with some really great stuff, thank you!
No prob! It actually comes with an “easy version” and a “hard version” this was the hard version. There are really only 2 tricky measures though. The easy version could be played with just two mallets.
Is that Steven's grip I see you using? I thought the general consensus was that Burton's grip was for vibraphone. Is there a particular reason why you're using Steven's here?
Glad you asked! I learned this solo using both grips for fun. I almost never use Stevens on vibes unless I'm doing a ton of rotation based strokes. In the end I chose Stevens for the video because you don't get any mallet shafts clicking together in the soft sections. (I haven't gotten around to wrapping all my mallets to prevent this)
There should never be a method that is solely used on one particular instrument. Stevens OR Burton on vibes OR marimba, it really just depends on what the music calls for and how you want to achieve the sound you're looking for.
This is wonderful! It means so much to have my music played and recorded so well! Many thanks, Charlie 🙏🏽

Blue vibes. They match the mood of the song perfectly.

It's like you're doing the leg work for me and finding me great music to learn. Thanks again, Charlie. Lovely performance.
I love the tamper of the mallets for this piece. It's sick. Great performance. 👏👏👏👏

This piece doesn't look too difficult! I could try and learn it! Thanks Marimbalogy!

The consensus that it doesn’t matter how you achieve the sound, as long as it’s a good sound.
For example, many DCI groups use Stevens grip regardless of the Instrument.
Hey, great stuff! Which version are you playing here?
I'm playing the "hard" version.
What mallets are you using here? They sound really good!
Dave Samuels mallets.
For myself:

Is that the omega vibe
Yes, You should check out my review video! I compare the omega vibe to the marimba one vibe!

Jesus loves you man. If you believe in him he can forgive you of all your sins, unless you're saved already. God bless you have a nice day!
