Nice looking build. I have used high lift blades on lawn tractors to fill my homemade leaf collector. The blades have a more pronounced bend to produce more wind. I have used them on Husqvarna and Deere tractors. They may be available for other brands. They push the leaves through the shoot quite well. Hope this may help.
Thanks for reminding me that my grass catcher is more than equipped to handle leaves. I don't know why I got side tracked thinking I needed to build a vacuum impeller. What I really need to build is an enclosed trailer. My grass catcher only clogs up when the bags are full. So every time I fill them up I have to detach the chute and shake it out which is a pain in the butt even if I didn't have back issues. In the summer my rear bags fill up before I can even make one circle around my acre lot so that got old really quick! Ok. Dump trailer with enclosed attachment it is.
Sounds like you've got it pretty well figured out. There's no point in having an auxiliary engine and blower if it's not needed. You'll find lots of good ideas on RUclips.
Excellent design. If you have more acerage, it would be easy to design one 2x+ longer to fit your needs. I've got 4 acres to mow. Leaving the clippings in place makes mown 2 weeks later more difficult due to the accumulations..
Great idea Don. I watched your generator device vid a couple years ago and that is awesome also. Leaves are a pain come fall time here in Michigan also...I'm guessing your a retired engineer.
I'm a retired machinist. I built machinery much of my working life. My son and videographer has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He works as an automotive engineer.
Looks like a winner to me. But I do wonder with all that extra weight how long the drive belt will last? I have a 2 bag bagging system on my mower and when there both full I can sometimes smell the drive belt burning when I’m climbing the small hills on my property. The tractor is Chinese made just another off brand of MTD just like the husavarna Troy bolt and cub cadet mowers. Not saying it’s bad.
I'm equipped in my shop to do these jobs for myself but I'm not equipped well enough to produce parts to sell. there are some collectors on UTube that would work essentially like mine but would not the fabrication skills.
Very long video to say he made the bagger bigger. I started this way, wasnt satisfied, made a chipper shredder into a vac just like the cylone rake. Except i only have 80$ in it.
Very well done sir enjoyed the video. Well made and expert craftsmanship.
Beautifully made! Shows true skill. I could never make mine look so clean.
Bless you. I hope you make it to 90 or beyond.
Nice job, great craftsmanship.
one minute into your video and I already like you. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to check out some other videos from you. Take care. :)

Thanks very much for your ideas.
That tractor will last if taken care of and dont beat on it.just like any piece of equipment. BRAINS is the key to any equipment.
Nice job mate keep yourself well
Love it thanks for sharing this video with us.
Now I want one, but in black!!
By the way, you look great for 80!
simply brilliant.

Very nice and professional job! Any updates or improvements in the past 4 years?

Ken
Very nice!
Awesome I love it. Will you sell it as a kit. Wow I could use that for sure.

great job buddy thats using your brain many people dont know they even have one these days lol
Leave the bins in their while collecting leaves, then pull them to speed up dumping at the curb.
The weakest link might be the transmission in the mower..there a little weak.
what is the cost of this leaf collector
Born eighty years ago - priceless, Born 18 years ago - worthless.
How times have changed.
Pro1er hahahaha brilliant
Amen.
Homemade right
Would have been nice to see it in operation.
GOD BLESS ANGEL

I'm a metal worker, not a video producer, but I'm always willing to learn. Do a video of your project and show us how it should be done.
Donald Charles i will make it easy for you. Look up cyclone rake. I made that. Exactly that. 80$ instead of $2000
Michael Collins I’m a little suspicious of a guy who can’t manage to put the dollar sign in the right place. 🤔
