He just did it for something different, a bit of fun .. doesn’t need analysis. 10K in 27.27 and then carrying on is very impressive for someone who isn’t doing any HM training.

the surface makes a big difference sure. road shoes are very different to spikes and might use slightly different muscles. while this can be a factor, i personally believe that the 1500m race 2 days before is the main reason for his performance. im also worried by the lack of nutrition during the race, especially with the sun coming up in copenhagen. finally, the lack of long runs past 20k or even 25k+ will have an influence on dealing with fatigue during the race, even tho his problems already started at 10k, which is a distance he raced on the roads before iirc

Can't imagine someone trying this with the racing flats we had back in the 70's, two days after a DL 1500 metres. These supershoes are way more forgiving these days, Adidas Evo 1 first and third in this race. The 5k DL winner (12.43) also was the main pacer in this race which is an impressive effort in itself.

This was crazy short notice but the most incredible thing he did was he ran 3.43 mile than coming back the next day and winning the 3000 m in a diving 7.23 lol. Lol this guy can break 57 for 21.1 one day for sure someone jealous of the young Viking

Jakob: Freddy, can you pace me Sunday?
Freddy: Yeah, it'll be great. Dad's gonna have a coronary. What pace?
Jakob: Fast enough to keep up with Kiplimo for 10K.
Freddy: Why 10K? Then what? I can do 6-8K.
Jakob: I want to set the Norwegian 10K road record, then I will run/walk it in, Zone 2, under 64 minutes. Internet, and Dad, will lose their $hit!

All this attention is given to Jakob, but if you look at the range of top level runners like Sifan Hassan, you’ll be truly amazed. But where is the attention given to her, or others like her? 😮

Your talking speed changes more than any other I have ever heard. Even at 1.5x speed it is super slow at times, and super fast at 1.0x at other times.

What happened to him was that he didn't train for the event and was unprepared because it was all just a publicity stunt.
