  • In this video, I am using the new DeWalt drywall sander that is CORDLESS. So far, I really like it. It retails for under $500 which is much less than a Porter Cable sander. I have a corded one and this machine is MUCH better than my old sander. I would definitely recommend this tool.

I love reviews from people who have absolutely no idea what they're doing or talking about.

After sanding quite a lot, I think that the sander doesn't really matter - the choice of the sanding discs makes MASSIVE difference. I am using Evolution dry sander with Karcher WD6 and recently discovered MIRKA pads. Excellent results, minimal dust (only when you tip the sander upside down, loose particles fell from the shroud.)

Maybe I just didn’t hear it you should be using a vacuum with a self cleaning filter. Drywall dust is very tiny and will clog up a standard vacuum filter very fast and then you will not get much suction Milwaukee does have one it’s about $450 for the vacuum. I have the Milwaukee vacuum and the Makita drywall sander.

I didn’t even think of that, that may be the problem

I have that sander and there’s no any dust around it. Mineral dust like drywall and concrete needs self cleaning dust extractor. That Milwaukee looks like it’s a vacuum cleaner, not dust extractor. Can’t use dust bags with fine dust. Festool AC and Dewalt flexvolt have one. Dewalt flexvolt extractor pairs wirelessly with the sander and starts the extractor automatically soon as you start the sander.

Too much dust coming out of it. I’m looking for dust-free and light weight. I’ll probably have to pay a lot for the former, and never find the latter, lol.

I've heard great things about the drywall sander from Festool. That unit is $1,000 something though so if you want to spend a pretty penny I would go that route. Otherwise I was recommended to use a dust collector along with the van connected but I don't know how I feel about having to haul the hose with vac and extractor around.

I use my DeWalt sander with a cordless DeWalt dust extractor and it leaves virtually no dust.
