    This is great. I buy Native deodorant but recently switched to their plastic free containers, which are basically like cardboard push-up pops. I like that there isn't wasted plastic but I prefer the plastic containers. Now I can just melt the contents down and pour it into my old plastic ones while still contributing to earth friendly paper. 😊

    THANK YOU for this!!! I use Native deodorant and absolutely hate literally throwing money away when it gets to the end. I thought there was a way to melt it and use again but I had no idea about needing to pour from the bottom. Now to find that cap that came with it when I bought it…..This is such a great and helpful video! God bless.

      Glad you found the content useful. I have also started using Native deodorants. They can be on the pricey side, so bottoms up and refill. Thanks for watching the video!

      I don't know if you tried this yet, but my microwave does not like the native deodorant. It starts to spark and goes nuts after a couple seconds. At first I thought it was the plastic container, so I popped the inside dome out and the same thing happened. I think I'm going to try and find a double boiling method instead.

    Thank you, I have the same issue with Native Deoderant. It's pricey and alot of waste. I knew there was a way! :)

      It sure is pricey. I just bought some Native last week for the first time. Pleased with results so far. I will definitely save the waste and do a refill. It looks like they fill from the bottom. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you so much! I knew there had to be a way to save all that spare deodorant. Especially when you pay so much for the kinds without aluminum. God bless

    Thank you so much for these tips. I bought a natural unscented deodorant and it mixed with my body chemistry and smelled really bad so I melted hit with a natural scented deodorant and the deodorant came out smelling great

    I use a brand that does not have a bottom plastic cap, so I basically screw the remainder of the used stick on top of the new stick.

    • @patshomeprojectsandmore5878
      @patshomeprojectsandmore5878  Год назад +1

      That sounds like a good option. You my also want to try screwing down the remaining deodorant and pour the melted deodorant from the top. Whatever works. It's a shame the manufacturers can't design a better way to dispense the product without all the waste.

    • @kottelkannim4919

      @@patshomeprojectsandmore5878 By screwing, I mean using the central screw of the new deodorant. I do not have to melt anything. melting might also create waste - waste of energy.
      EDIT: you are right. I am am wrong. There is a plastic tray at the bottom of my deodorant stick, which needs to be removed.

    Thank you for this. It irks me when I get to the end and there's product trapped in the grid and around the central stick. Often wonder if the 65g of product includes the bit that usually ends up binned. I'm cynical, so imagine it does. I've tried removing the remains and planting them on top of another part-used stick but it got messy!

    How long do you microwave it for?

    • @patshomeprojectsandmore5878
      @patshomeprojectsandmore5878  Год назад +1

      It's like melting butter. I did 30 sec at a time and kept a close eye on it. The more deodorant you have the longer it will take.

    Does anybody actually know how long the stick of deodorant are actually in those containers? I wondered if the manufacturers were cheating consumers by putting half a stick (less than the oz stated in the packaging) in them and sell it to you for more inflated price with a fake longer container (thinking you're getting more). I remember getting one of those Dove aluminum free deodorant with longer container, and I thought they contain more deodorant in it, but it didn't last very long (given I use other deodorants too).
    Just curious since paper towels have less towels in them (than before) but cost more. Or like big bag of crisps with more air in it than crisps.

      Lol, I feel your pain. I've seen the same. Purchased a product and was surprised that it had not increased in price only to find out the package went from 4 oz down to 3 oz. Would not have realized it had I not had the same product still in my freezer. Grrrr. Thanks for watching!

    How do you get the cap out of the bottom

    • @patshomeprojectsandmore5878
      @patshomeprojectsandmore5878  Год назад +2

      It depends on your container. For mine, I was able to use a butter knife from underneath. The plug has a tiny lip that makes it easy. In some cases, you might be able to use a thin screwdriver and push it out from inside the container. Hope that helps.
