What i learned from the trust was that people's guts might give them some "feeling" that something is off with someone's behavior, but that the feeling should be carefully examined. What i disliked about Tolu is that there was no self-examination and no ability to step outside of her "gut" and examine its prejudices, judgments, etc. I mean, I am a Black woman. A sixty-four year old black woman. And i have lived long enough to know that a gut feeling simply tells us half the story. Our guts tells us something is off, but our lives, prejudices, selfishness, etc causes us to often misinterpret the gut feeling. From the beginning of the show, when Tolu trusted her gut to get rid of Juelz I knew she would be the one who would start whispering campaigns against people based on her gut. I suspect she probably does this in real life as well. She's young but her lack of introspection where her gut is concerned and her extreme belief in herself and her gut just turned me off. The "africanness" of her and Winnie didn't affect me. I liked Winnie, but Tolu....not much. I often wonder: How did everyone react when they found out Juelz was a cop? I'm sure Tolu had excuses for herself. I guess i'll see on the reunion show. Am not expecting any self-insight from Tolu, just her excuses and framing everything as her loyalty to her family.

You addressed this thing with her gut feelings very well, and did even better with addressing her lack of introspection. No telling how many people she has harmed, or how many times she has inadvertently harmed herself, by having some faulty gut feelings. Her gut has so many feelings, so she may have been right sometimes in her life as well. Law of averages....lol
Nobody can or should completely ignore their gut feelings, but when one has had their gut proven wrong to them, some introspection is definitely in order for any who has the ability for some introspection within them.
I am a white woman in my mid-fifties. I got put off soon enough by Jay, and the most by Jay. I got put off by almost all of the women in fact at one point or another, and I have been around long enough to understand some things that can cause women to sense and experience various things about how some men can think and act.
I got to learn the most from several places of my employment including an auto parts store and Home Depot before I earned my degree in my thirties. Generally, I found the more educated (the men and the women), the more they tended to be better at introspection and keeping bias at bay, but I also knew a lot of people in those prior jobs of both genders who had the gift of some introspection.
I wasn't there, and we only get glimpses in actuality, but it seemed to me that Tolu's gut was wrong about Juelz, and she wasn't the only one.
Jay got rid of Simone because Simone couldn't be led by her.
So much for the idea that men are so much more competitive at heart and less willing to think about others and share than women are --- at least in this particular experiment and how it played out with this particular group.
I have seen it play out differently a time or two in the real world, of course, and I guess these women didn't have all the insight that the audience got --- and so I do have to give them that much here.

When she told Winnie that "There's always a way" when they realized they were not the majority anymore, she did not give up and "played" the other players, allowing her to, not only get to the finals but also won a large sum of money. The issue I think with Tolu's crusade, is that she is getting mad that people are identifying her as someone from Africa... when that was literally her outfits through almost the entire show. Vibrant Africa-inspired dresses, earrings with Africa on them, earrings with "Black Girls Power" on them... like, I just don't understand how she can get mad about her being discussed in this way? No one went up to Winnie and proclaimed her African. In fact, Winnie didn't have much personality. I think Julie, Tolu, and Brian were the only ones with real personalities. Everyone else was just kind of there, Winnie included. Not to mention, she is getting mad about people calling her from Africa when she literally talked about being an African immigrant. If you wanted people to say you're Nigerian, talk about being a Nigerian immigrant.
Here's how I would describe the people:
    Tolu: outspoken, petty, shrewd
    Winnie: quiet, no personality
    Jake: a guy?
Brian: ranch man, righteous, (mostly) loyal
Julie: bit of a snake that learned from her mistakes
Lindsey: proof that they contacted a BPD clinic to get a contestant from there
    Jay: absurdly rude and mercurial
Juels: a guy that lied about being a stripper
    Bryce: naive and annoying
Gaspare: no personality, just kind of there
I just don't understand where she is coming from with saying you know who everyone is but she and Winnie are the outcasts because all anyone could say is they're Black. It doesn't make sense to me. Several people were boring with no personality aside from some really odd ways they reacted to things.
The victim complex is absurd with her. And it is annoying that she continues to be oblivious to how unreasonable it sounds to everyone else.

The male finalists in this show truly outdid the women in terms of honesty & trust. I hope they're an inspiration to others. Well done guys.
I think Julie has shown the most growth, and if she takes on what she's learnt, she will be successful.
With a heavy heart, I'd say Tolu has learnt the least. She still plays the victim and comes across slightly delusional. I feel that in years to come, she'll look back at this and be ashamed of some of her actions. However, she is stunning looking and has a great fashion so no doubt she'll be successful, I just wish she'd have learnt something from the male members and become less delusional!

Tolu redeemed herself by sharing the money when she couldve voted anyone of them folks out and Julie did the same by not taking the 2nd vault offer. Tolu told them immediatly after camera stopped roling, Julie waited 3 weeks. Stop grasping for straws, they did the EXACT same thing this whole game, if youre gonna come for one come for both.

Now I have to agree with you. I got tired of Julie and Tolu talk about coming from nothing. That's fine if that's your motivating factor, however, if you listen to each of them when they were interviewed alone, Tolu said her goal was to walk out with as much money as possible. Brian was so honest he missed out on more money. Gaspar was the ringleader for the men even though throughout the show it appeared Jake and Brian were. Its okay to keep your integrity in a game but remember, it is a game. You don't have to cheat but you don't have to disclose everything. That's why Bryce went home.

I see your point but a few differences of opinion: Tolu was plotting to kick people off from the start. Also at least on the show she lied, repeatedly and well. Julie lied but she isn't as skilled. Also, Julie admitted to her lying. It is also fair to point out, Tolu didn't get to go into the vault until the end. Even discounting that one event, she was still not transparent and authentic. Of course I'm biased and ignorant as are all humans. It felt more like sow division, be manipulative/strategic. Julie was more like a teenager. A fair question to ask. Would Julie have still been as pro group if she didn't have a romantic interest?

I don't think TOLU deserved to be in the end. If I was her mom, I wouldn't be so proud of her, the way she acted in the show. Yes Gaspere and Brian, you think you know Tolu, you guys spent time with her, unfortunately there are people out there who can hide their true self, I think the best way to gauge or judge a person's true intentions is when you hear how they talk behind your back. Tolu might be the best person in front of you when you talked to her (Maybe because she's playing the game.) but when out of sight she is plotting and scheming with that Wendy girl. My gut tells me she cannot be trusted. She's condescending, and has the victim syndrome which she thinks warrants her the entitlement. When she came out of that vault and said she didn't take the 25k, and pretended to rejoice with the others, what a great actress hahaha! She played you all even on the very last day. Julie did the same thing but at least she had the conscience to at least tell you in your face, and I thought that was kinda bad decision because that could definitely have affected the way they voted, but she wanted to come clean. No one seems to want to acknowledge that being able to trust when you have had to fight to exist and be seen every day is a PRIVILEGE. Julie and Tolú are "greed"-oriented because that's how they've had to be to survive. Brian, Gaspere and Jake (barf) have never been in that position. While statements like "I always want to share" and "my integrity is not for sale" are awesome statements on the surface, I think it's worth noting that those people have grown up and lived their entire existence with people they could rely on/trust. I think having that support system and knowing there is someone in your corner changes your world view; knowing what someone has been through will never be the same as fully understanding it through experience.

Julie’s story was far worse than Tolu she never even had a family and came with a game plan yet she started to change a lot sooner. She lied and felt bad for it. If you guys were in Tolus shoes 👞, you would have accepted the offer of 25,000$ because she has come too far to leave the show empty-handed and she doesn't trust them not to vote her out, so that was very wise of her. Julie was lying all through and also accepted the offer and lied to Brian and all of them.

I was 100% backing Tolu and Winnie. I hated that the show spun them as the villains when Jake came in pissing on everything demanding to be "alpha" whilst gaslighting everyone that he was doing it for "the team". He was only a "team" player as long as everyone was heeling to his orders. And it was genuinely disturbing to see Julie be manipulated by how the men where talking. All that bs about how they were doing the "right thing" when it is a COMPETITION SHOW to win MONEY! Get out of here with those superiorities complex. Call them wicked or evil. Did any of the women call any of the men by such terms? Stupid maybe but not evil. The men's language was reminiscent of lord of flies how everything had negative religious terms to describe neutral human actions/reactions.
I was also so happy when the cop got the boot at the beginning. lmao none of those women were fooled. And to think the Jake was pissed to see one of his bros gone versus seeing that ALL the women in his family that he's supposed to be protecting felt uncomfortable with the cop. But does our captain america see that? Nope. When one of his bros go taken out for being a LIAR and straight up CREEP, Jake was THE FIRST to declare "there will be blood". The men viewed it as a holy mission to "protect" the "family" from what? Themselves? (Yeah that doesn't give culty vibes at all)
I love these shows because even with all the editing, you still see how people interact and reaction to unknown situations. And in fact, in spite of the heavy handed editing to try and wrap this up in a neat bow, it was clear from the start who the showrunners thought our hero was - I could not roll my eyes harder when Jake got the hallmark 360 kiss with the girl in the end treatment after he'd been a classic narcissist the entire time. Tolu and Winnie were 100% right about him!!! But yeah, THEY are the villains for actually playing the freaking game! I'm so happy Tolu got what she got in the end though she absolutely deserved more. Was relieved to learn Julie hadn't stayed with Jake and had likely been strongly encouraged to perform the romance for ratings - Julie also deserved better.

They knew it was Tolu. Like, they know what she was doing. They won't vote her out because they like Tolu. You can vote someone out for having the least connection. Plus, Tolu is a good person as long as it doesn't hinders her goal. Goal-oriented personality would do anything to get it done. They acknowledged her as how well she communicates her standpoint. What I like about is they knew she was going to make decision for her self-interest, but those are not seen as bad by them because they knew already why, how, and what she came there to do. That was honesty not shown on the screen (the guys have mentioned this that they have bonded and had not been shown on screen).

I agree. She was the most well-dressed with gold earrings and gold chains and instead about crying because you came to America at the age of five does not give you a reason to play the race card. How about speaking of what a wonderful life you have since coming to America 🇺🇸while t other families that still live in Nigeria are suffering.. She complained about Brian calling her a princess or a queen. She took a fence to being called African. She dressed in African jewelry and African clothes, so if you don’t want to be referred to as African don dress like one.

ALSO those of you that are not African/Black or children of immigrants would NEVER understand where Tolu was coming from. She played that game well and STILL shared that money when she could’ve easily kicked someone out. Julie lied and kept her money as well so don’t sit here and only drag Tolu. She won and that’s because she played the game even when ALL odds were against her

I wonder if you guys would have felt the same if they presented Julie with the opportunity to put that money back… It’s like ppl keep saying Julie grew and changed yada yada, but she already benefited from the selfish decision she made. Yes, Tolu is a little cocky. As a black woman, I’m not bothered by it …I wish I had that much confidence myself. She was unapologetically herself wasn’t scared to pop her wig on and take it off. I don’t think I could ever do that on TV. She may have withheld information, but she wasn’t fake. If she was, they would have never had a big question mark About her at the end. And they have all made decisions that benefited themselves Gaspar included. Brian included. Jake included. so for them to judge her, to me it’s hypocritical Considering they all voted someone off at some point. If they feel so bad, they can take $1000 of their money and give it to each of the contestants that went home. It’s like being mad at someone’s sexual orientation and condemning them to hell because they’re gay but turning around and cheating on your wife.
