Matterhorn looks tame but it’s really crazy. It has really forceful turns and very minimalistic restraints- it only has a single seat belt. Plus the fact that it was built in the late 1950’s is nuts. I really like it, and it still holds up great to this day. Space Mountain is also great. It feels a lot faster than it is because it’s in the dark.
I will always have California Screamin’ as my favorite disney coaster because the soundtrack is amazing and the thrill was very high for disney from 2013 to 2016 I would say it had it as my number one as I was only 6 1/2 at the time I rode it first in 2013.
Wow! Slinky Dog over Rock N Rollercoaster. That is a sizzling hot take. Also, I'm glad to see MK Space Mountain so high. I often hear both the general public and enthusiasts dismiss it as janky and inferiorly themed compared to its counterparts. But that layout is so good. And I still think the theming is excellent. Yes, other iterations are smoother and it is a family coaster. But it packs a punch and it's always a good time.
I am a massive coaster enthusiast that has rode things like Steel Vengeance , Fury 325, and ArieForce One. Despite this, Cosmic Rewind is in my top 10. That’s how good it is.
Canobie Coaster would say: Number 21: Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril at Disneyland Paris. This is another off-the-shelf layout, but this one is very well-themed as you wind around an ancient temple. This keeps the elements hidden both on and off-ride. The layout is identical to the Pinfari looping zyklons that can be found elsewhere, but this one was built by Intamin. The ride is not the most comfortable between the hard restraints and quick directional changes, but it's tolerable if you lean forwards. This allowed me to enjoy the pops of airtime on the elevation changes and... A) the floaty vertical loop at the end of the ride. B) the very forceful vertical loop at the end of the ride. C) the floaty vertical loop midway through the ride. D) the very forceful vertical loop midway through the ride.
I got to ride Space Mountain twice back in 1994, fantastic coaster with lots of great turns. The 2nd time was not as enjoyable due to the fact I had a sunburn (pro tip, don't ride a completely dark ride where you can't see in front of you with a sun burn).
In a way for me Disney is a victim of the high standards it has set, in that cheap knockoff coasters that would just get a shrug at any other park seem almost insulting at a Disney park.
I mean that goes for almost any high standard park. I’m pretty sure if a wild mouse was just plopped down in the middle of Phantasialand people would be confused
@@Lemonaidz7 Cedar Point is considered one of the top parks in the world and it just got a wild mouse. It’s a bit weird for such a crowded park, but not shocking. Disney is known for rides that are themed experiences, so I find that a cheap wild mouse at a Disney park is something shocking and disappointing. That said, I would put Phantasialand, Europa, Universal, and Efteling in the same category as Disney in this regard, as they’re all known for rides that are high-level themed experiences, unlike most of the rest of the parks around the world.
I'm surprised to see the Matterhorn rated so low. Every time I played Disney's Coaster on my computer, the judges made it sound like the Matterhorn was unbeatable? I was also surprised to learn all the Disney parks have as many as 25 coasters between them.
The Matterhorn is extremely important historically (and I’m old enough that I perceive the ride with far too much nostalgia to be objective), but my impression is that most younger coaster enthusiasts consider it a pretty low level coaster.
I’m just gonna pretend Rock n Roller coaster is swapped with the iron man coaster🫣other than that great list, especially with MK Space Mountain being the best one
Speaking of not having some of these credits, specifically at HKDL- do you have any plans of visiting that park soon? It’s a great park, and personally find it better and more charming than Shanghai Disneyland
You forgot to include The Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom and Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster at Tokyo Disneysea, if I had to guess..they would both be placed towards the bottom next to Gadget's.
My favorite Disney coaster is California Screamin' (haven't ridden it as Incredicoaster yet), followed by Matterhorn Bobsleds (Fantasyland and Tomorrowland respectively), Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom (haven't ridden the one at Disneyland yet), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Disneyland and Magic Kingdom respectively), Rock n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, Goofy's Sky School, Primeval Whirl (R.I.P.), and Barnstormer.
Incredicoaster for me will never be as good as Screamin as it was the coaster that got me into roller coasters when I first rode it at age 6. It’s pretty much my number 0 as I have too much of a connect to it to rank reasonably.
This is a fantastic ranking. Cant wait to see it in full after youve visited Shanghai & HKDL 👌 Our rankings are super similar, except for Space at MK. That ride doesnt even crack my Top 10 but its in your #2. Thats about all i disagree on - the rest is a near-perfect ranking 👏👏
@CanobieCoaster definitely, uncomfortable & outdated. Although I grew up with DLR Space & didnt ride MK Space until 2020, so I admit I'm certainly biased towards DLs version. And I do really enjoy the exit queue to MK Space
Admittedly saying fans is an oversimplification. I've heard the air ducts are designed to intentionally have the AC blow opposite the direction of motion, but it's difficult to prove. I can say that California's feels way faster than Tokyo's though.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Expedition Everest (the only coaster I was able to do more than once, great ride) 3. Tron Lightcycle Run 4. Slinky Dog Dash (this might have been lower if I had gotten a day ride instead of a night ride) 5. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 6. Seven Dwarves Mine Train 7. Space Mountain. I don't count Primeval Whirl as two separate credits. They were pretty much the same ride regardless of what side cast members took you to
I count it as two since the two sides could operate independently.
Excited by this ranking given that I’m visiting Disneyworld for the first time this summer.
Enjoy!
Primeval whirl was recently scrapped, i can’t help but think sky school will follow
I would not be surprised.
