Oh, yes, tough was a big part of our vocabulary growing up in Kansas, USA! Lol😂 Isn’t it funny how some expressions are used worldwide and then there are some that are unique to our areas. In addition to your genius crafting ideas, I so enjoy hearing about your life and experiences in your part of the world! There are differences, but we have far more things in common! You’re a joy!
I have heard “tough” and “ tough titi said the kitty when the milk went dry” I was told that when I was like and i have said it to my children. Love your videos as always. 😂😉
Your envelopes are great, and I also enjoyed your stories. Good luck with your vacation plans. I hope the heat is tolerable and the company well behaved. As far as your question, I grew up in Texas and probably got "tough" as a response to my complaints ten times a day. The tough t comment was never tolerated by my grandmother, but my cousins used it frequently when they were sure she wasn't around. Thank you for being so generous with your storytelling and your talent.
Love these envelopes pockets. It’s not at all boring to watch, it gives me all kinds of ideas. My ex husband & I owned a construction business for 17 years & unfortunately when you go anywhere you see all the little mistakes, or big sometimes. Sometimes it’s shocking to see the work that is done. We would have never left a job with mistakes. Usually in the states you will see doorways & windows that have gaps & floors with spaces between the floor & trim. I’m just dying to see Italian architecture & will make it over some day. Thank you for sharing
Im from Margaret River!!!! And yes the weather is terrible we have even had hail... Yes the food here is excellent...best in Australia. We have lots of international celebrities come here.
Hi Rachel 😊 yes we have had some stormy weather here in Western Australia however I am sure your brother had a great time down south - beautiful food and wine and open fires to keep warm by. Just remember if the nasty man says anything to you just tell him "TOUGH ....."😆 Have a wonderful time away (just to spite him). Will look forward to more crafting with you and all the stories🐨
Hi Rachel, I do so enjoy your videos. You ask all these questions, and I try to speak out to answer them. My mom used to say "happier than a pig in s---t" all the time. and yes, we said "tough" to the kids we weren't too keen about. Oh, yes, and "tough s--t" too. but that was when we were teenagers and being "bad". 😉😉 Take care.
I like you telling us what Italian word mean. And Aussie phrases. Here in Oklahoma we have ‘happy as a pig in the mud’ or ‘sunshine’. 🫶🏼 As kids we always said ‘Tough’.
Rachel, 2 years ago, my mother and daughter and myself spent 2 weeks in Italy in 6 different cities from Anacpri, Naples, Verona, Florence, Rome and Venice even though we stayed on the go we had a wonderful time and learned so much and the architecture and art is so different depending on where you go. I would love to go back some day (the food was amazing especially the desserts)
Oh I want to go to Italy! Someday, I will, and I would love a textile tour. Loved today’s video, even the mistakes, because I’ve done a lot more. Thank you, Rachel!
We have those very same sayings here in the states. I heard them a lot when I was a kid (a very long time ago)😬. I love how your hoardy journal is coming along. I’m still working on my signatures and I keep putting stuff into the project bin, lol 😆. All I can say is “ thank goodness it’s a big book. Thank you for sharing and thank you for all your hard work. Hope all is well. 🥰💕
Loved the video as always, yes we have the same sayings here in Northern Ireland just such fun to find out other countries say much the same Brilliant. 😀
Another super project! In Canada we used to say ‘tough’ to our friends…or ‘tough ti*ty’ as well! Lol. Ur upcoming holiday sounds like its going to be a blast…NOT! Xxx
Maybe you call it appies or appetizers? We do that sometimes for dinner, just make a bunch of different appetizers. Fun and yummy with wine or cocktails. Love these envelope creations they look great in journals. TFS Rachel!
Your video today made me belly laugh!! I just love watching. Thanks for making my day! By the way, after your first envelope video the other day, I had to go make some!
I did enjoy this video...as always and please take a journal with you and make notes so you can fill us in on your adventures.... good or not so good. Thinking about you...linda
Thank you Rachel, very enjoyable video! We also had the “tough t” saying here in the American south. It was something we only said to our siblings or cousins as kids. Lol Although I think my great aunt was the one who taught us the saying…she was very mischievous!😂
I just love your stories and sharing with us. There isn't one video from you that hasn't taught me something. Any chance that you & Steffy will cook together in your kitchen again??
Yes, “tuff titi” has been said for a long time, I never heard the same thing until just now. The envelope fold around will be very versatile. I was going though a stack of junk mail as I was watching your video. tfs
Hello Rachel!!! I was laughing when you said tough titties. I grew up in South Africa and we used the same expression. It brought back a lot of memories. So funny! Love your window envelope projects! 💐Marnel🇨🇦
When I was little we would say “tough titty said the Kitty when the milk went dry. LOL. I love your channel and your accent. I love that you are so your self.
Good video Rachel. I think that in most parts of the English speaking world, 'tough and 'tough titties' has been around for a long time. It's a common saying in the UK too. We also say 'hard cheese' to mean the same thing as well !!
Hi Rachel, you sound upbeat today! Yes, in English it would aperitif or drinks and appetizers, or sometimes Cocktail hour. Rachel your video has been out less than an hour and already 3 spammer messages... you're very popular! Yes, we used to say Tough titles, and tough titles said the kitty when the cow ran dry. Also happy as a pig in poop, and don't get your panties is a bunch. Lol
Hi Rachel. Most of my bills I've gone paperless but I look at junk mail in a new way!! Lol 😆 I was told tough as a child many years ago. I am also familiar with tough titty said the kitty although I don't remember my parents saying that one to me. It was more of a classmate thing because you got to say titty. I remember watching you make your hoardy book. Love the idea but haven't made one yet. Cheers from New Mexico.
Someone needs to say, "tough tittie" to the rude one commenting on your feet, skin shade (or commenting on anyone's anything for that matter!) 😡 I'm not down with that, at all! But, I Love watching you craft and seeing how things come together! 💙
I honestly can’t believe such beauties are created from unwanted envelopes. It’s like ugly ducklings turning into swans. 🙃 We used to say tough titi years ago her in England. It’s funny how expressions go out of fashion and others replace them. I don’t think our language is half as colourful and descriptive as it used to be.

"TOUGH"....West Coast USA, logging in to add that we say the "titty" version and the "s*&t" version too. BUT.. As of today, at 65.5 years old, I learned that "This Piggy went to market" didn't go to go shopping!😪 That one went in pieces. 🥵Thank you for letting me share my life changing moment with y'all.
Stand up to him. Not just if he says something to you but if he says something to someone else that makes you uncomfortable. It is never wrong to point out that society does not accept certain behaviors. It is more comfortable if the group all agrees to call him out. Just be sure to point out that you are doing it so that the entire group including him can all have a good time and that no one wants to dwell on it moving forward. Isn't that the point? If he says something like he was only joking, turn to the group and ask if they would feel it was funny if he said it to any of them or even if they thought it was funny when it was said to you? The type of socializing you talked about sounds like it should be very polite. Rude is rude. Sorry just wanted to add if he gets like this when he is drinking you could be dealing with a serious issue but it is not for you to worry about that in this setting just keep things moving forward by not accepting insults and not allowing it to ruin your time with the people you do enjoy communicating with. If his spouse or daughter try to apologize for the behavior point out you dealt with it and no one needs to stress anymore because it is done.
Yes in US we used to say "tuff" and my husband always said "tuff tittie says the bald headed kitty"...that was weird to me, when I met him and he'd say that hahahah...😂😂... loved this video, and I watched it twice, I learn so much of little things, like just layer it if it's short...or whatever...it doesn't have to be perfect...I get stressed collaging, but now, not as much..so thank you for that! 😊😊🙃 that fellow on the envelope is Saint Romuald . And the guy who is rude on visits? I remember you sharing about him..... I'd probably get really angry, but that's what gives him his pleasure...so maybe I'd then try opposite like "Oh you are so clever, you make me laugh...you always say the funniest things....." etc, that would throw him off his game, he's a bully. Hope you read all of this, but that's me always trying to help..hahaha. Have a good vaycay anyway you guys!
Rachel, I wanted to say too that this horrible man you have spoken about before reminds me so strongly of a man I once lived with. He was a narcissist and mysoginist. He made my life a living hell ! These 'people' are never friends and they draw huge pleasure from hurting people. If you encounter a person like this, run like the wind !! You can never win against them. They are very disturbed and their emotions are extremely blunted to practically non existent. You should be highly guarded toward this creature. I remember watching a 60minutes interview in the early 80's where Ma Anand Sheela said "Tough Titties" for the first time on Australian TV... we were all aghast, now it would hard to find anyone bat an eyelid to it... and yes, we all said "Tough" when being annoyed... I love these Wrap Pockets Rachel, what a great use of envelopes.... I had so many envelopes at one stage and now most of my correspondence comes digitally I am fast running out of used envelopes... Guess they will become one of those antique stationary items that are not used anymore... hahaha... Imagine that, a child saying to their Mum, what are these Mummy, and she replies, oh darling, a very very long time ago that is how people used to communicate.... and the wide eyed child... "Really, wow" hahaha. Cheers for sharing Lovely...
As much as you love doing these pieces, I love watching you do them! Thank you so much, Rach! ❤️

No, this is not tiresome, because you've shown me yet another way to repurpose junk mail envelopes, which I LOVE to do!! Thank you.
Thank you so much
Hi Rachel, you sound upbeat today! Yes, in English it would aperitif or drinks and appetizers, or sometimes Cocktail hour. Rachel your video has been out less than an hour and already 3 spammer messages... you're very popular!

We used to say tough toenails when I was a kid; we weren’t allowed to say titties! LOL! I lived in the Chicago area at the time.
In the UK ' happy as a pig in muck.
