Good morning from Daytona Fla. We made it through the Hurricane. We probably won’t be playing for a while, but it’s nice to see Shane with a beautiful guitar and sweet licks.
@@DMSProduktions we have a lot of flooding in Volusia County, Daytona Beach got hammered pretty good, I am very thankful that the destruction is not as bad as it was on the Gulf Coast, but we have a few weeks of hard work ahead of us to get everything put back together
I've had my Zach Myers going on 10 years now, finished in a beautiful Tobacco Burst. Let's put it this way, I never felt the need to get a Les Paul Std since getting it. And as you discovered Shane, the pickups are fantastic stock. Cheers from Canada.
I have an older made in Korea one of these is a light green colour and from the moment I first picked it up I knew it was a killer underrated underpriced guitar. Total kick ass guitar.
Dangit, Shane! Now I had to go buy the only lefty Zach Meyers 594 Semi that Guitar Center had listed thanks to you! No, seriously, thank you. I appreciate all you do to show us lefties awesome guitars.
I own the PRS 245se in a tobacco sunburst and it is beautiful to look at and play. I love the neck length of 24.5. it allows me to use heavier gauge strings + still get great string bends. It uses the same pickups as the Zach Meyer model. I think they are like the new vintage sound. In fact, it replaced my Les Paul studio. While gaining me 300 extra dollars. I can always tell when you're inspired, Shane!
I would argue that had PRS got into making affordable models like this one left handed 7 to 10 years ago, they would have wiped the market with these instruments. This a great looking and sounding guitar that I don’t need. I already have a great playing Gibson Les Paul and Flying V that fills that niche for me. Hopefully younger players can take advantage of this model and Paul Smith will realize that the left handed market is a strong one.🤘🏾
The SE range is getting seriously good. I have the DGT SE (Gold top) and it is better than my 2011 PRS core (USA) Mira, and far cheaper (although I did change the tuners and the jack plug). Well done for the demo Shane.
I remember seeing the PRS guitars in Australian music stores in the late 1980s or early 1990s. They were either in glass cabinets or hung behind the counter. You needed to make a request to play one in the store. This store had 2 of them both over $6,000. Incredible amount of money for a guitar at the time. I bought a Fender Telecaster for less than $1,000 (still a lot of cash but just affordable for me - still have that tele) I do remember how fantastic the PRS guitars looked. I became aware of PRS after seeing Carlos Santana play and my friend and I could not identify the guitar he was playing. We were sitting in the 5th row and could see this fantastic guitar - that sounded huge. Although any guitar santana plays has the same huge tone. PRS guitars are much more affordable these days. (Btw the first time i saw Santana was as a teenager and he played a white Yamaha guitar. Again super tone by the master)
I want it. Almost bought it a few years ago. The only PRS I own is the SE Paul Allender 2007. I HATED it. Mostly because I got it used and it was horribly set up. Once I learned how to do the relief, action and intonation for that guitar, I set it up and now it's an absolute dream to play. Maybe one day I'll pick up the Zach Myers SE. Among the best looking signatures I've seen. Even nicer than the Tremonti models. And who doesn't love that Shinedown tone!?
I'm so happy that you were able to try this guitar. You seemed to be pretty impressed. Hopeful I'll get one soon. My only concern is i have smaller hands. Great playing and review. I liked the silver sky too, but there's so many strats out there and I already have 3 s style. The Zach Myers would give me something different .
The best PRS SE is any one of them without the TSI "S" pickup. The worst pu I have ever used. Mushy bottom end, no clarity or note definition with driven/distorted tones and the brittle high end notes will shatter your eyelids. Believe it or note, I replaced the bridge PU with a GFS Crunchy Pat and it simply blew the TDI away! My wife who has been listening to me play for the last 27 years said it is the nicest tone I have had in a very long time. However, this guitar you are showcasing is a whole different beauty and I concur with everything you have said. Great review and love, love your channel. Blessings to you.
I did not care for the neck profile and I thought the pickups only sounded good a full volume. So I put pickups in it along with a new nut and locking tuners. It's now okay. Glad you like it.
I'm glad you like the Zach Myers. I've had two of them. I wanted to love them, they just weren't my cup of tea. I'm not much of a single-cut guy. Mine definitely weren't lighter than any of my custom 24's. Yeah, I'm sort of a PRS junkie.
damn dude. you gunna review all the gear on my wishlist, or what? i hope the latest Bonamassa Epiphone has a left-handed option, so you can review that one. iridescent copper Les Paul with p90s. i wan't one reeeealy bad. when they hit our shores imma get one.
Sounds great and looks cool too. I love semi hollows for their sustain too and I love the short scale and single cut. ❤. Just very cool. I don't know Mr Zakk, but he has good taste in guitars I would say ! I want one man ❤.
Shane, I REALLY think you ought to buy that guitar for yourself. It sounded amazing in your hands and you've obviously taken quite a shine to it... I honestly think you'll regret it if you let this one go. 🤘 Plus, you could always have the controls rewired to have the knobs in whatever position you like if you can't get used to it. The layout does make a lot of sense, but it can be hard to adjust after years of playing them differently.
I've got the Zach Myers PRS SE also, upgraded to higher output zebra pickups with cream rings, USA spec lampshade knobs and swapped out for locking tuners. It's my favorite guitar I own, I will never sell it. *edit* the pickups didn't need to be changed, but I wanted a bit of cream/zebra styling, so it was purely a cosmetic mod.
Us lefties are starting to have some premium looking guitars in our catalogue mate What a ripper looking guitar shaneo, sounds the business too. For anyone wondering, this is going for about 1400-1600 AUD depending on distributor, which is several hundred more than a player 2 series or around the starting point of USA fenders (brand new) in Australia. A mate of mine got a salsa verde SE custom 24 when they went on sale last year, I played it but I didn't jive with the neck, switches, tones or the colour 🤢
PRS gives that MIW clown so much gear, it’s too bad they couldn’t allow you to have this one for shining a nice light on it. I agree, I think the SE Zach Myers is one of the best buys out and especially best one I’ve played in SE line 🤘
i want Shane to get some of the nice gear he reviews too. but then the review can no longer be trusted. even if the reviewer states, truthfully, that the company that sent the gear made *absolutely* no conditions upon the review, and that the gear is a gift regardless of the review "score"...... it is not the Australian way to shit on a gift. no matter how fair and professional you are as a gear reviewer, it is human nature to be "nice" about a gift. we can't help it. when a reviewer who is testing a non-sponsored piece of kit says at the end, "i'm buying this sucker with MY money", THAT you can trust.
Very bright for humbuckers. Bright in a good, articulate way, especially on the neck, borderline single coil sounding. Some HB’s error on the dark side on the neck, losing too much on the high freq., … a common characteristic with a number of humbuckers. Those are punchy like P90’s.
Those are definitely the only PRS humbuckers that I think sound any good...maybe Paul has less distain for us leftys these days...thanks for the review.
Nice but i have tried and don't like this wide thin neck but it's a pity it's too big for my finger. I prefer the us shape neck they are thinner. Nice video thank you
I’ve got several PRS SE models and I did have the Zach Meyers model, great guitar excellent playability and decent tones. However it would never stay in tune and I spent a fair bit having it setup and replaced the tuners and the nut refiled..I sold it because I could never keep it tuned, disappointed in it actually.
I have both. My CE-24 is also a semi hollow. And I love them both. But they are very different, with very different necks. And yes the CE has the USA made pickups. I added locking tuners and treble bleeds to the ZM, but havent made any mods to the CE. You will love the CE. Cheers
I’ve had for a couple of years A few complaints. The tuners were junk don’t like the pieces of wood for the body and the the thick poly finish but for the price not bad 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Good luck with it!
I'm in Lake Worth on east coast, we got a tornado. This guitar looks and sounds good
Stay safe, Mark! I saw some footage, it looks crazy over there!

Yes, this is pure magic in your hands! 😀
Nice to check Nick out again. Hope you are well, Nick. Your recording of this guitar really comes across. I love the color. Thanks.
Looks and sounds great. First time ive liked the "s" pickups over youtube.
The SE range is getting seriously good. I have the DGT SE (Gold top) and it is better than my 2011 PRS core (USA) Mira, and far cheaper (although I did change the tuners and the jack plug). Well done for the demo Shane.

very hard to find left handed guitars and especially in cool colors, great video!
I happened to find a lefty prs custom 24-08 se in the exact same colour of course I had to buy it great quality for an Indonesian factory
Fabulous Instrument Shane. :)
Great review as always Shane. I definitely like the blue better 👍🏼
I need one😂. From Edmond Oklahoma. Thanks Shane

You should buy one. Just move the volume control. You are already bonded with it.
I play a PRS Starla, which has a similar (awesome) neck. Thanks for posting this review. I’m very interested in checking one of these out.
Nice axe Shane!
Really BRIGHT neck pick up!
\m/
Im not a fan of the PRS headstock design but I'm always a fan of your playing - 10/10!
Cheers Shane, hopefully the lefty version shows up at Thomann soon
You can Order it right now
Love mine too! Great guitar.
Nice review! Im sold! I think i would move the pots around
Beautiful guitar. I would have to try one out as I prefer the Wide/Thin PRS necks.
Looks and sounds really nice 👍
Beautiful

Thanks for the review!!

Love the intro riff. hope it's not copyrighted!!
Nice guitar, its just the neck is just too damn huge!

C'mon PRS. Give Shane some freebies! lol
PRS guitars tend to have treble bleed caps across the volume controls hence the pickups retain their brightness when you back off the volume.
Very bright for humbuckers. Bright in a good, articulate way, especially on the neck, borderline single coil sounding. Some HB’s error on the dark side on the neck, losing too much on the high freq., … a common characteristic with a number of humbuckers. Those are punchy like P90’s.
I have the righty model and love it.

Nice guitar,I like it better than my se ce
I think you should trade in your PRS for this one after seeing how much you like it..a lefty like that might not come around that often!
sick bruh
About to pull the trigger on a CE. I believe they have the core humbuckers. How they compare to the Zach? Thanks.
I have both. My CE-24 is also a semi hollow. And I love them both. But they are very different, with very different necks. And yes the CE has the USA made pickups. I added locking tuners and treble bleeds to the ZM, but havent made any mods to the CE. You will love the CE. Cheers
Given the Zach is $1500 less would you take the Zach?
@@pieve5516 I would take the ZM and the dough, but they are totally different guitars.
Love my Zach but I reckon the silver sky is a better SE
Imagine this guitar with some Mason Dixon humbuckers from Missing Link Audio...
I am not sure I am a fan of either color. I like the turquoise one they have out.
Wish it had the wide thin neck profile.
I just watch to listen to the playing
I'm sure you.could switch those pots over to the other spots. Might not even need to rewire them.
I’ve had for a couple of years A few complaints. The tuners were junk don’t like the pieces of wood for the body and the the thick poly finish but for the price not bad 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@10:24 Hmmmm, interesting foreshadow moment.
Really dislike PRS neck shapes but at least they make some lefties now & again.
She will be mine...
Sounds great, but that blue jean color is just so appalling. 😬😬
Is that body 6 piece
I am not too sure. I didn't see that listed in the specs anywhere.
Not sure if it's the same in Australia, but in the US factory seconds are usually kept for demos.
Maybe the veneer wasn't the best?
Wait....PRS made a lefty that looks and sounds good? what is the world coming to?
This is strange/ saw losts of your vids and just know i see you left handed... they switch realities again
I just really cant stand PRS guitars...😕
Everything about them.
trade the old wife in on a new one ...
Nigdy nie kupię gitary tej marki.
No se, No epiphone..Come on
Perhaps they should call it a “Les Paul” Reed Smith?
This does not help my G.A.S.
They should of gave you the guitar....that makes me not want to buy PRS....
Can’t tell if that’s the best SE but sure is the ugliest color lol
if she just came with a hardcase I would be in. thanks on the marshall dsl40 demo I got one and I love it!
