    You never regret the money spent. I have had a Border for 34 years, Commando for 8 years, and a Westmoreland for 6 years. Bought the wife a Beadnell 7 years ago. Look after them, and they will look after you. The jacket and the wife.

      Cool, but so will every other jacket if taken care of. Every jacket can last for years and years. Barbour certainly no exception mate

    I now see why these clothes are on the expensive side. I noticed the quality was much higher than other clothing. THE British were known for high quality clothing.

    At Orivis I have looked at many Barbour waxed jackets and never is one made in the UK. South Shields only makes a small percentage of the product and I'm guessing they don't export those ones to the U.S due to demand at home. Wouldn't be an issue except for the cost - paying several hundred dollars for a jacket made in Tunisia makes no sense.

      David Moore if a Lamborghini was made in Germany it's still a Lamborghini is it not ? I live in uk and brought a Barbour jacket last week that wasn't made in uk but it's still a Barbour jacket

      raydickos He is saying that cheaper manufacturing costs should translate to lower selling prices. Barbour can charge what they want, but consumers do not have to let themselves go broke for a name brand.

    • @austinrapp8990
      @austinrapp8990 6 лет назад +6

      Not quite true. The traditional Bedale, Beaufort, Border and Beadnell jackets are all made in South Shields and sold in the USA - the other modern jackets are outsourced.

      I bought a Beaufort last week. Bears a label proudly saying Made in England. Some garments are still made there, others (the cheaper ones) are not. Choose wisely.

      Steph Kev bought mine thinking it was made in U.K. only to find out afterwards it was made in Eastern Europe, very misleading and it wasn't cheap either

    • @NaeMuckle
      @NaeMuckle 5 лет назад +5

      It depends what you buy. The new trendy cuts are made in Europe. The traditional cuts are made in England. There's a £100 to £200 price difference. You want English made you have to pay for it.

    • @simonnelson7770

    • @samg1879
      @samg1879 3 года назад +3

      Agreed, I'd rather Barbour stick to only jackets, and then have them all made in England. They've got such a wide range of jackets, but considering only 3 are made in England, the rest are nulled out for me.
