Ticketmaster/Livenation is a powerful monopoly, but as John Oliver said in his piece, the biggest celebrities do have some leverage here. If Congress refuses to act, it would be nice if Taylor Swift and other singers renegotiated their deals with ticketmaster and drew more attention to it.
I’m really having a hard time understanding the issue.. obviously there is one as there seems to be a consensus but, I don’t get it. How does site crashing really relate to the monopoly part? Any company’s site prob would’ve crashed. I also fail to see what the really big deal is..? It just seems like an inconvenience at most- that’ll be sorted out before the show… obviously the show isn’t going to be canceled… Can someone educate me?
