I quit because there was only so much I could take, every interaction I had I was questioning if its a bot or not, and then the game lost its magic. Botting used to be different, simpler, less invasive when it came to real player interaction or boss fights or pk tools or even pkers at this point.... used to be for simple tasks that were more or less harmless but now... now its actually killing the game

@@Wibbly_Wobbly id describe it as uncanny valley of gaming when everything around you feels fake, part of the appeal of scape is that you have other real people around you grinding so you can all have no life together and it makes things happy, but when everyone thinks everyone else is a bot (cause its becoming more and more true) being online became down right depressing. It just depends what type of person is playing, what they value from gaming experience - best way I can describe it is scape used to be like rocket league, real humans battling each other in a fun competitive gaming environment - and current scape is more like when you first create a rocket league account and they force you to play a tutorial game against bot cars... it just hits different.

Jagex will do absolutely nothing about botting, it's embarrassing.
They can't solve it entirely, it's impossible, but you wouldn't know that because you have no idea how coding or game design works.

At this point just give the wilderness to the bots, PVM vs PVP bots will dominate the area.

ive run into a ton of those freeze rev bots on my pure. but they didnt 1 tick xerician they just had a xerician hat on. wonder if they upgraded since its been a week or so
Encountered the freeze bot in rev caves they 1 tick freeze whilst changing prayers and eating its pretty insane.

The biggest travesty with these PK bots is that a real player is gonna fight one, lose, and think there was something wrong with -THEM- and not their opponent was 99.9% Skynet and had perfect switches and overheads every time.

I pk in the rev caves fairly often. Last night I fought some dude in mystics with a random name...first time I truly believed he was ahking or a bot. Perfect pray switches to counter me, perfect gear switches and repetitive actions. Seemed like one if these bots

They do but the harsh reality is ever since they went corporate there has been zero investment into anti cheating, they will milk it till it dies because if they invest into anti cheating at this point it kills them... they let the issue get too big, too many casuals or even hardcores have quit at this point, they are milking the game on long term addicts - whales so to speak who buy gold, and then a shit load of bots they make money from it. If they kill the bots now it doesnt make sense because the casuals been ignored for so long they arent coming back, and they bots sustain the flow of items/goods for the whales to keep happily playing via g.e and bonds. It's not incompetence it's completely intentional and it's been obvious for many years now.

IMO that DMM bug exploit was purposefully 'overlooked' and that Gagex were complicit with the guy who was bang on botting it. I mean just look at the mechanics there. An Npc in lumbridge right off the spawn can change your acc to the other server or whatever for an UNLIMITED amount of times and every time you done that you recieve a free sigil AND 5K CASH which conveniently there is another Npc right next to the first Npc which can take you straight to the G.E to insta-sell the sigil. I mean which j-mod DIDN'T notice the bug abuse potential for that? Aren't these j-mods supposed to be smart? like they do actually have a bug abuse/anti cheat team don't they?
Exactly my thoughts. It literally looks to be designed for exactly what the botter was doing. Not bug abuse, just an intended mechanic.
Never attribute to malicious intent what can be attributed to incompetence. With as much code as these devs look at every single day, I'd be impressed if they don't overlook some stupidly common errors on a regular basis
Man, if Jagex doesn't take some serious steps against the current botting epidemic, there's a pretty good chance that we're watching the downfall of OSRS in real time. But I'm sure we'll get complete silence from them, as usual.

Membership from bots probably makes up a significant amount of income for OSRS, otherwise Jagex would be doing more about them. After all, the lost revenue from the original bot nuke is why Squeal was created. Pick your poison; bots or MTX?
Stumbled on a bot farm at wilderness agility course in AUS worlds this week while looking for Larans key people. All have similar stats and like 60+ agility. Perhaps worth taking a look. Killed a couple for 60k each. No idea what they’re doing.
Imagine how many people quit playing because of bots! I did.
I quit because my account was stolen, botted, permabanned, appealed, stolen & botted & permabanned again. Yeah, I’m not even kidding!
I stopped playing main mode because of bots. Fuck that game mode when simply using GE makes you part of the reason why bots exists in the first place: buying their shit so they can cash out easily.

I actually found another thing in DMM which I only seen in one world but I was doing tree gnome village and it was early in the game mode like no more then 1 day in.
I went up to that general store there in tree gnome cause I forgot an axe to see if they had one and there was upwards of 70k rune arrows in it I spent the next 30-60mins buying them and selling them in the GE for like 80-120gp profit per arrow not sure how they were smuggled in but I capitalised
You could buy rune arrows with the points from emblems so it was one way to convert points to gp, possibly from that.

It’s wild 2 months the later and those ok bots are all over the rev caves. They are decently easy to kill though. The problem is as soon as they are down damage on the tracker they attempt to escape. You pretty much NEED to bring seeds and even then if you splash at a critical moment they are gonna escape.

The amount of effort botters go to in this game is absurd.
We are coming to a time where most Online video games are having major issues with cheating. Call of duty and Osrs especially. I wonder if there ever really will be a fix for stuff like this as time goes on. Very sad to think that these games are pretty much ruined at this point.
I don't understand why they don't remove free trade again, honestly the only thing that ever worked was removing free trade, when the incentive for gold selling are removed, most of the bots get removed too, and more legit players return who enjoy playing together who actually enjoy earning the items on their account instead of buying them. It worked in the past and it would work again, they need to let botters understand they can't be as reckless as theyve been - and of course if they ever want their game to thrive again they need to remove bonds, which ruin the integrity of the game and make it feel cheap and shit, also make items drop on death again, afkers dying to randoms is what make scape scape... the issue is once again like always... they removed what made the game special and now its not osrs, its bot scape and easyscape and safescape, they always lose focus of whats most important and it decimates the player base. So many people quit after they fucked up bher worlds and instead of finding a solution or letting the bots continue, they removed it and found no solution that wiped out about 25% of the real player base. sorry for rant but they did this to themselves.

There is way more now and they all have the same gear and they freeze log and seed perfectly.

maybe jagex can develop some ai tech that can accurately tell the difference between real and bot
I'm pretty sure Jagex is going to push the main Jagex client in the future. They won't need to detect bots. Just make using their client mandatory. If you don't use it you'll be considered a cheater. This means only the Legacy Java client, Runelite, and HDOS will be used in the future. And to access those you will have go through Jagex first. I believe this will also make it easier for them to detect an Ai that tries to pretend its a human moving a mouse as well.

You should check the hobgoblin area, that spot has been botted for straight 2 years now i think, have made 200m off of those bots.

There are a lot of soul wars bots and I've seen a lot of very high xp thieving bots in draynor at the master farmer some 200m xp. Also every world has very high xp runecrafters at edgeville using the abyss, 100m + xp. Way to many to mention.

Jagex can claim w/e they want but we know what's good on. The company is for sale and they don't want potential buyers to know that 70% of the player base is bot accounts. I've played the game since 2003. I can't believe how bad this has gotten.

The wilderness has always been something I never understood, why would anyone go there at all? we can just bring iron daggers, I did see some appeal with bosses and the whole wildy fight club thing which again, just go to duel arena for that, but its done more harm than good to an entire generation, now there really is no reason to go there if you're just going to get bot sniped or something like that

Which only emphasizes the point, they can already go and do those other pvp specific games and risk it all in a fight. The Wilderness doesn’t need to be pvp anymore

I don't get what's so hard about finding these bots for jagex. The game registered that this player ate, prayer switched and did a full equipment switch all in one tick, wow such a skilled definitely human user.

I can't wait until their is a pvp hive. I could see a point where if you go into the wilderness in any marked location, a scout bot will check to see if the account is on a do not kill list, and if they are not send the info along to trigger a logged out ready in wait pk bot(s) (if in multi). And if you want to be able to pvm in the wilderness you need to pay a bot in edgeville to white list you from their hive. Meanwhile they are also running pvm bots killing revenants and the other bosses.

Videos like this make me feel like only 35-50% of the player base is even real. Wtf.
It's actually much less, believe it or not. A couple of years ago, I compared the ban numbers that the anti-cheating team (Mod Tyran, I think?) tweeted out to the player numbers that were being tracked for the same length of time by the third-party tracker at Misplaceditems (who record the playercounts off the website so they should be pretty trustworthy). The average daily users being banned were over *70%* of the players who logged in on a given day. And remember, that's the ones who were *caught* so it's safe to estimate that the percentage of actual, non-goldfarming human players who log in on a given day is probably closer to only 15-20%, possibly even less.

Here soon there will be a new RUclipsr, but it will be an AI... it will make bot busting videos, pk videos and even show it muting bots on its player mod account... then it will host community events.
This AI RUclipsr will first replace Sir Pugger, Framed and Eliop... then it will move onto chunk accounts and DMs... replacing all of our beloved chunk and extreme chunk videos with AI bot chunks... it will flawlessly defeat Oda and BTC...
I just can't wait for the bot to run Jagex, customer support will probably be the best its ever been at that point.

Do you think Jagex intentionally let bot farms run for X amount of times for any type of reasons?
I've considered this a few times myself. So far, the only reason I csn think of is that Jagex might let them run for a specified time period to learn more about either the exploit itself, or learn more about the bot farm network, such as common IPs or usernames. Though with VPNs, I doubt the second option is reliable anymore
