We *used* to be Dining Plan shippers, but we realized that it wasn’t the cost savings it used to be… So we have stopped using it, but good to know how to add it if we decide to go back!
@@TheMagicInTheMusic We found that budgeting through the year ended up saving us a lot of money (and stomach space….) I am going to make a sit and chat about it later this year as the dining plans returns explaining why it’s not always the best deal for us, but there are situations where it works.
I think it’s pricey too. I’m older and don’t eat much so it wouldn’t work for me. Last couple times I traveled I started putting aside small bills ($10s, $5s, and $1s) for tips and small cash purchases. I also usually go with my sister and if she doesn’t have cash I can give her my part easily. I think the plan would be good if you had teenage boys that eat a lot.
I am not sure how I feel about the price. Not sure if I’d spend $95 per person per day if I didn’t prepay with the dining plan. I think without the dining plan I’d be closer to $50-60. It is convenient though. Also takes some stress away when the bucks are already laid out. Gives my penny pinching fingers a break for the night. 😂
So I just tried this and I don't have the dining plan option. 99% of the time it's not going to work for us anyway, but, we have a split stay coming up so I wanted to check it out. Have you heard of any glitches? (I know, I know. Disney IT have a glitch??? Surely you jest.) EDIT: Just chatted with DVC and they said I can't add it online at this time and I would have to call. Boo hiss.
It doesn’t go into effect until January, I think. It didn’t show on my July reservations, but it DID show on my January reservations. It may just be the timing of your trip.
Do you get the Disney Dining Plan? Tell us if you're a fan.

Thanks for being on top of this!!! I appreciate the tutorial!!
How did you like NOT having the dining plan on your recent trip? Will you have a video about that?

Wow that is pretty pricey!! I like the idea of a plan, but I think it needs to be cheaper!
Yeah, it’s not worth it for our family, but some people love it. At least the option is available.

Yeah, it’s a pretty steep price.
@@TheMagicInTheMusic I guess it’s a drop in the bucket for DVC fam. 😋👍🏻
I know a DVC perk is ~10% off dining. Are the prices that DVC members get on dining plans reflective of some sort of discount as well?
I don’t think there’s any discount on the dining plan. It would be nice, though!
can even resale owners add the dinning plan?
I think the dining plan option is available to all members.
I’ve followed all of the steps, but don’t see the open to add the Dining Plan when I click the down arrow on an existing reservation
How soon is your trip? Also which resort? I think that there’s a cut-off point after which this can’t be added online.
I figured out the issue - the DDP doesn’t come into play until January 2024, and my existing reservation is for a trip in late 2023.
@@sluderville, good point! I forgot to mention that. The sample reservation I was showing was in January of 2024. Thank you for mentioning it. 👍

@@TheMagicInTheMusic Just checked on my February reservation and it's there! That explains it!
