We loved the deluxe dining plan! I hope they come back with it the way it was. We like sitting down in the a/c and resting and actually talking to each and not racing around. So we did two sit downs. One brunch time and one dinner. We always saved the third to do deluxe restaurants here and there through out our vacation. We used all outstanding snacks to bring treats home for extra Disney magic during our movie nights long after our vacation was over. I just think you need to do your research and choose the best plan for your family . I also think Disney had a great plan strategy before covid happen. They seemed to come out with many different plans that would suit almost everyone.
Hi Dan and Leslie!! For years our multi generation family traveled from New Jersey to WDW when a "Free Dining" promotion was offered!!!! It was fantastic!!!! And yes, we were that family in our resort gift shop on our last day of vacation trying to use up our snack credits!!!! Now that we live in the Tampa Bay Area and are AP Holders who visit WDW often, the DDP is something we don't need. Thanks for another very informative video!! Love the "Let's Chat" format!!
We did the free Deluxe Dining Plan with a resort stay in 2018, it seemed like all we did was eat, so much food, way more than we needed. If we had to pay for the Dining Plan, it definitely would not be something we would have done. I can see why they are being back Quick Service and Standard plan, but the Deluxe Dining was just too much eating, if you think each table service meal takes one to two hours, that’s a lot of time out of your already expensive day. Another thing, we felt like we always had to get steak and the most expensive item on the menus to seem like we were winning over Disney.
We have always done dining plan, even earlier iterations of it dating back to our honeymoon in ‘95. When we went in 2018 however, the tip was no longer included with it and it’s savings, for us anyway, kind of zeroed out. Wondered if we would get it again. After going this past fall, obviously without it, we would definitely look at doing again, if not overly expensive. Though in 2018, we were there Easter week, so we used the left over snack credits on candy for Easter baskets.
My husband and I did the dining plan , when it was first started in 2005 and it did include tip, It was nice! When we used it back in 2017 and worked great. We did alot of character meals. However, now we have been back a few times, and we actually prefer no dining plan. We plan x money per day for food, and it works. I think it will cost more, because we do not need 5 desserts at table service restaurant, and it will cost more for us. But we are planning to go next year, and we will still look into it.
Does the meal plans allow for Disney Springs locations? When dining at locations, are you limited by a specific menu made especially for Disney Dining or can you order off the regular menu?
Thanks for the information regarding the Dining Plans. I recently heard from the cast of The Dis Unplugged, that they were able to get a credit/refund for unused Dining Credits. how can we confirm this information?
The Dis Unplugged team were talking about cashing the credits in for treats or snacks at the end not a refund. I think they also mentioned down grading from table service to quick service or quick service for snack credits if they had left overs. You don't get a refund.

When I travel with my Mom (a senior citizen with mobility issues) we do sit brunch, a snack, and a sit down meal- that’s her favorite way to go.

Haha, good use of snack credits!
I love your channel! Your husband and you are so amazing it make me want a Disney Husband. Having someone to talk Disney with would be really fun❤

So so interesting as always - thank you 🥰🥰xx
I find these plans are rarely a benefit for vegetarians or vegans as our meal is always the cheapest on the menu anyway.
Thanks for the video.

Does the sit down dining work for character dining? Or is that still an additional charge?
Depends. Some will be two credits
Is it possible to use dining credits at Disney springs restaurants
I had the same question. Is there a list of participating restaurants somewhere?
Yes, but it depends on the contracts Disney writes with each restaurant or group. Not sure when those will be finalized.
