What is your favourite demo?
I've tried a fair number of these and have bought a number of them due to the demo. My favourite demo was FF16, instant sell for me. I also love the length of Dragon Quest XI so much game to try before you commit. I'd love to try Fate/Samurai Remnant since it has a demo I might as well. 🙂
Lol your intro to the video and finishing off running into the cave was so goofy! Definitely worth a subscribe!
Hahaha I didn't find any treasure though! Thank you for subscribing!
You are insane 🤣 Great list John, and cool concept for a video! You were probably giggling to yourself while editing that intro, hahaha.
Hahahaha 😂🤣
Whenever you have games that carry over save data makes for an easier transition
Absolutely man!
My favorite demo ever was the one for Bravely Second. It actually told an original story, and was good for a few hours of play (also unlimited, unlike many 3DS demos). Had some minor carryover items as well IIRC.
I'll have to check out Fate SR. It flew a bit under the radar I think.
I'd like to second the suggestion to add timestamps, at least for list videos like this. As a serial commentor it makes it easier to go back to specific games. 😂
Yeah I need to figure out how to do timestamps. I'm a plum at these things hahaha!
I'm always downloading demos thinking I'm going to use them but I very rarely actually play them. I really enjoyed the Harvestella demo though. That one was great because the original trailer left a lot of questions about what kind of game it really was.
Oh absolutely I do this as well hahahaha
Spelunking for treasure, now that's a creative way to afford games.
Hahahaha! 😂🤣 Can't say I had a good haul though haha
Glad to see Scarlet Nexus here, it's so slept on. I can confirm that the game is super fun, the combat gets really flowy and intense as you progress and I especially love the designs of the enemies in the game (most of the bosses are pretty fun, though some have a little too much hp). The various psionic abilities you gain access to are great in combat and they are a lot of fun to combine. The story is also pretty enjoyable, though it does get a little stale in the middle phases of the game.
The phase right after the demo ends, phase 3, is super action packed though, and then the same goes for the last third of the game too. Just the middle phases from phase 5 to phase 7 or 8 are a little slower and less action packed. Definitely would recommend this game though, lots of fun!
So I've picked it up on the Steam sales as I have a steam deck coming so I really can't wait to play it on that. I do have it on PS5 but never commit to it fully jaha
@@chickenfillets Nice, have fun!
Cries in PC.
Hahahahaha
There are some free options…
Hey John, so did you find anything good in there? I like the fact that in today demo, you can continue your games. But I remember Xenogears have a fun demo and Bravely defaut you could export your villagers from the Norende Town.
Hahaha nah I'm still in the cave looking for treasure! I'll find some I swear 🤣
Cheers John. I don't normally use demos because I just buy a game and know I want it. That being said I might try Granblue Fantasy Relink.
Adam! Yeah the demo has quite alot to do from what I've heard!
Granblue Fantasy Relink is amazing i bought it on a whim and love it.
@@saintsaber8491 that's awesome!
I have the Harvestella demo ready on my Switch but haven't gotten around to it yet. I keep hearing good things though.
The demo is what made me pull the trigger on Harvestella! It's a cracker!
Dq11 demo got me to get the game. I think it was around 10 hours, pretty decent
I suggested it to my pal years ago and he bought DQXi cause of the demo as well!
The only game I’ve played on this list is Trials of Mana and that was the fan translated SNES original 😂 some games on here I want to play eventually though!
Maybe some can be on your RPG challenge;)
Not a jrpg (it lives on my jrpg shelf) but dragon's dogma 2 just added a 2 hour trial.
Ahhh that's awesome!
Great video. To bad not everyone plays jrpgs on Console 😂. I fell for the steam summersale for Granblue Fantasy Relink. Good game, I just don't like online multi-player. And... No demo for PC Players.
Oh I didn't know that! I've literally the other day ordered a Steam deck so I'll finally be able to play PC games!
@@chickenfillets For some odd reason (and plz correct me if I am wrong) PC/Steam doesn't have that many demos for their games. Atleast the genres I am mostly aware of. Most demos for RPG games are console exclusive.
Granblue Fantasy Relink is a good game, but personally speaking 40€ on summersale for a 15-20 hour story is still a bit to pricey. I genuinely thought it would be around 40-45 hours (for the main campaign).
@@5665sizo honestly not 100% sure!
Can someone respond to this so I remember to download some of these demos tomorrow morning? I’m in bed already
Remember to download some demos! ;)
@@chickenfillets thank you very much :)
I recommend the Scarlet Nexus demo, combat is pretty fun and the story picks up pretty quickly (though that's right after where the demo cuts off unfortunately)
Please add chapters to your videos.
Will keep that in mind :)
