I ate in Muslim restaurants in different provinces and its Halal food and restaurants are full all the time with Chinese people. There's no point wasting time and energy on material with low public impact. 2. Develop effective counterarguments to these articles and videos. Employ talented writers, content creators and debaters. 3. Publish these counterarguments on various popular, non-Chinese platforms such as on Substack, Rumble, RUclips, etc. Why non-Chinese? To dispel the criticism that they are funded or supported by the Chinese government. These platforms must be perceived as objective and independent. There are many popular platforms that I like, e.g., Cyrus Janssen (697k subscribers), Lena Petrova (387k subscribers), Ben Norton (314k subscribers).
Visa free travel to China from a number of countries which cost nothing is more effective than trying to counter back the way the US does its media business. A couple of VLOGERS with a good following making videos of their experience in China costs $0.

This is the 2nd such bill. 5 years ago a $300M/yr for 5 yr bill was passed for anti-china propaganda. And it's been effective. THis propaganda is aimed mostly at a US audience and secondarily at Canadian and European audience. Its aimed at Australia as well but has not been that effective as that in the US.
With all my respect to Victor Gao for all the fantastic debates over the past few years, this time he did an embarrassing and disastrous job. Mehdi is a jerk though, no respect at all for him even though he 'won'.
What should China do to counter this propaganda? Here's my plan:
1. Identify the propaganda articles and videos that have large readership and viewership. There's no point wasting time and energy on material with low public impact.
2. Develop effective counterarguments to these articles and videos. Employ talented writers, content creators and debaters.
3. Publish these counterarguments on various popular, non-Chinese platforms such as on Substack, Rumble, RUclips, etc. Why non-Chinese? To dispel the criticism that they are funded or supported by the Chinese government. These platforms must be perceived as objective and independent.
There are many popular platforms that I like, e.g., Cyrus Janssen (697k subscribers), Lena Petrova (387k subscribers), Ben Norton (314k subscribers).

Re: Mehdi - high form of propaganda and manipulation, ask a general question then criticize with specifics - change focus and bully (talk over). Victor fell for it! The old zig-zag strategy of interviewing. It would have been more honest if Victor had been given the specifics and had been allowed to describe the actions of that woman's family member. In hindsight, Victor might have responded by stating that he could not answer charges that he had no specific knowledge of.
It's Victor fault for not doing research, as Mehdi has done his style to other people, so he is just doing his job.
