Love seeing a video about this!
    It’s no joke.
I’m about 40 pounds overweight. Did it in November 2019 and February 2020.
First time, got there the night before. Next morning chugged a Red Bull right before. I advise you don’t. I felt like a bubbling can of soda. I steadily made my way up.
A gentleman that practiced for an Empire State Building race was very encouraging. About is last lap past me he stopped to talk for a moment to let me know about how far was left. That false summit was brutal.
In fact, everyone was really nice going up it. All very encouraging.
Second time, improvement on my time. Decided to do some prep between November and Feb. No Red Bull. Still slow but made it! A bit of snow didn’t help.
All in all, I say if you can, do it. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again this year sometime!

Learned to love it while kicking nicotine & alcohol. Now addicted to high points & thankfully there're plenty😁

First time doing it was this morning. From first step to last it took me 29:04. That is so humbling. Just moved here from California and that elevation cracked me after the false summit. Already have reservations for the next 4 days! Hooked! ❤️😁

So cool! I'd love to do this on a regular basis. Great place to live. I'd love to have a best time to beat. Miss big CA climbs being back here in MO.

I went to the top of the Incline Railway several times.....in the 1940's. There was a motel at the very base where you could just walk over to the ticket office, or across the street, to take the Cog Railway for Pike's Peak. What a kick for a kid to take the Incline! I'll never understand why it was removed.

I went straight back down instead of taking the Barr trail once. My knees were hurting from that 😄

Comming from sea-level it's more challenging. There is a staircase in Laguna Beach, Ca called Thousand steps. It's 282 stairs which I use to do 4 Times. Down and Back Up is Onece, so I'm use-to stairs. My time here was 27 minutes 52 seconds.
