For me the most memorable part of the choreography was the chorus, the hand movements of lee know during his singing part, and also the first part of the chorus with Hyunjin's wrists knocking before going into lee know's part.

But the music video just screams "Step up 4"...the museum prank scene. Isn't that where they got the idea? LOVED it!!!
i have to say that i LOVE your reaction videos because i actually learn new stuff about their performance, even down to the little details that i wouldn't have noticed myself. plus, i love listening to you talk and analyse the movements 🥰 this was very informative and it made me see the choreo in a new light so thank you for this ;;
I love how interesting everything is. My favorite is the Felix spin / kick. It takes a formation where you're supposed to naturally look center, and pulls your attention to the right and it's so unique in kpop.
The turn they do in the beginning is a an en dehors jazz pirouette. The difference between a jazz and a ballet pirouette isn't the direction (en dehors "outward" or an dedans "inward") it's the placement of the passé and the prep. Ballet pirouettes are turned out in both the prep and the passe while a jazz pirouette is turned in and parallel in both the prep and passe. Also, the moves they do in the break down at the end are heavily inspired by the Charleston and the move that gave "taekwando" energy seems to be a house step, or at least similar. Great stuff though! You are totally on point with the musical theater references. This feels like a combo of newsies, kiss me Kate, and west side story. Definitely some Fosse references in there.
The whole turn thing at 4:30, (having done jazz and Ballet), Chan wasn't turning his legs out which is what ballet turns are like in retiré, as jazz turns are parallel (or turned in), and still have their legs up by their knee, usually. Pencil turns or turns in cou du pied are turns where the working foot rests on the ankle which is an entirely different thing. Also, he mentioned that for either jazz or ballet, it was confusing and hard to tell which was which, one of them turn 'backwards'. So, in my experience of jazz we usually turn 'outwards' which is the same thing as backward except you can't really spin 'backwards'. SO outwards, as in away from the supporting leg. In ballet, we turn both outwards (away from the supporting leg, called on en dehors) and inwards, (towards the supporting leg, called En Dedans). Also, you don't necessarily need a 'preparation' to start a turn, usually only a plie (bend) in some sort of fourth, (or a wide leg stance, either turned out- usually ballet, or parallel- jazz) or a fifth/third. And from what I could tell, Chan started his turn from a very brief, turned in fourth. It was only small and not technical, but I believe it was there.let
i love this choreo so much because it seems so easy but it's really not and the musical theatre flare always does wonders to sell a performance for me i LOVE it. i wish you could see minho more during the more dance heavy parts since for example that pop you pointed out with jeongin when minho does it in his solo fancam he really HITS that so hard that somehow the hit in the song seems more emphasized and i'd love to have heard your opinion on it but 🤷♀️ thank you for the reaction tho! i actually loved how many times you had to pause and rewind for so many parts of the song because it's just that good i'm so excited to see what they'll come up with next
i just came across your video and i love the way you went into detail in the choreo! your analysis felt really genuine and there were some constructive feedbacks too. keep it up!
Do you know how happy I was when you commented on i.n because he stood out ??? he always gets criticized for his dancing and I felt really proud when you kind of complimented him.
I.N. really has improved A LOOOT. His dancing technique is similar now to that of a lead dancer, or even main at that. Makes me proud to see that young Jeongin grow up. :’)
One thing about straykids is you can't guess what will happen next. And their choreography is noy for beginner like me. Hahah It's fast and hard. It's beautiful and has a lot of things happening
thank god i watched your reaction. i've been looking for the word/s that describe their choreography which is musical theatre. their choreo is so playful like ballet hiphop. i don't know but it's like a Step Up movie when a ballet dancer and a hiphop dancer combine their dance moves.
West Side Story. Choreo, MV camera movement, editing, and part of wardrobe all remind me of west side story. Some of the footwork also reminds me of Damn Yankees (hold upper stiff while twisting and pivoting from waist down), very Bob Fosse -ish.
Its a jazz pirouette, its parallel. Ballet pirouette turn out at the knee. The diff between jazz and ballet is not about preparation, its about the turning in or out
What im about to say may be strange... But anyways, Im strange as hell. I read a comment at the Back Door dance practice that said something like: -Everyone, lets bring slevesless (is that well written?) shirts -Felix: Yeah... NO -Everyone, lets bring long pants -Felix: Yeah... NO again This made mi laugh for 10 minutes 😂😂

i wish you could see minho more during the more dance heavy parts since for example that pop you pointed out with jeongin when minho does it in his solo fancam he really HITS that so hard that somehow the hit in the song seems more emphasized and i'd love to have heard your opinion on it but 🤷♀️
thank you for the reaction tho! i actually loved how many times you had to pause and rewind for so many parts of the song because it's just that good i'm so excited to see what they'll come up with next
I love the little Charleston-y floor tapping bits.
Just wow. The ad is Back Door MV. I can't skip
i just came across your video and i love the way you went into detail in the choreo! your analysis felt really genuine and there were some constructive feedbacks too. keep it up!
This analysis was so helpful I was looking forward to it I knew it would be so very explanatory and helpful and I enjoyed it very much that you
I’m not sure if you know but Sienna Lalau, the one who helped choreographed BTS On and a bunch of other kpop groups helped choreograph this too!
I can die in peace now that i have something that relates stray kids to newsies and musical theater
That's right. I. N. Supremacy everyone. Underrated dancer.
thank you for breaking this choreo down! i can definitely appreciate it more now :D
The way that he mocked Felix at the end😂 I just can't with this dude😂😂
I think the pokemon you're talking about was Poliwrath and your analogy is just so adorable! HAHAHAHAHA
"There's no room to breath in this choreography" what a relatable words😂 i can only dance the knock knock part lol
thank god i watched your reaction. i've been looking for the word/s that describe their choreography which is musical theatre. their choreo is so playful like ballet hiphop. i don't know but it's like a Step Up movie when a ballet dancer and a hiphop dancer combine their dance moves.
The diff between jazz and ballet is not about preparation, its about the turning in or out
That sequence with seungmin and hyunjin is reminiscent of *Creation of Adam*
That reference alone blows my mind
Check out their predebut dance in JYP vs YG battle. They have always been so creative with their choreos.
The choreo is so quick 😳 I would get the steps so confused damn so much more details than I thought
These guys are gonna be legends. I feel it
YES when i saw this choreo the first thing i thought was newsies!!
What im about to say may be strange... But anyways, Im strange as hell.
I read a comment at the Back Door dance practice that said something like:
-Everyone, lets bring slevesless (is that well written?) shirts
-Felix: Yeah... NO
-Everyone, lets bring long pants
-Felix: Yeah... NO again
This made mi laugh for 10 minutes 😂😂
How did I not think of Newsies while watching this ??? omg ??? this made it 20x better oml
SKZ = Perfection. Change my mind.
Sierra Lalau choreographed this one. She also did God’s Menu, On, etc. She is with The Lab in LA.
oh my goshh!! i didn't notice that you're almost to 100k until you mentioned itt!! omg I'm so happy for you!! glad to be here since your early days 😆
anybody else like me??
Great reaction!! Thank you sooooo much!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Could you react to the series "how good is ... in dancing?" from the the channel on the scene?
This series basic analysis kpop dancers by a dancer (till now taemin - shines, Kai -exo , jhope - bts, Momo - twice, sinb- gfriend, seulgi- red velvet, yugyeom- got7, Chungha, hyoyeon- SNSD/ girls generation got analyzed)
i’ll take a look and add them as i make my way down the list! 😁
No one:
*Jeff: "take a shot whenever I say musical theatre"*
Me: *will do, lol. But you said "musical theatre" 4 times*
This choreography is definitely harder than *"God's Menu"* 💯🔥
I love ur reactions thanks for reacting once again
CHAN MENTIONED YOUR VIDEO IN HIS LIVE STREAM!
I saw they had posted the dance practice and couldn’t wait for you to react.
I didn't skip the ads as usual...but this time's an extra special one, it is Back Door's M/V...I'm-
