Sweet job, you just saved me from messing with a crap ton of wires and stripping and re-wiring. I will be purchasing them for sure love the install video.
I have been researching for hours on how to upgrade my 2015 M3 IGT to LED or HID bulbs. I have the projector housings but halogen bulbs. I did a custom headlight assembly project on my 2004 ranger a few years ago. I learned a lot (forgot a lot since then) But I don't want to go through that headache since I have the housings already and it should be a plug and play application. Your product is the answer!
Good video. Out of curiosity why do I see some LED set ups that is just the bulb (with a larger metal base than stock) that plugs directly in the harness and done vs a setup like yours that plugs into to wires and has a box. What's the difference?
The difference is that a more powerful LED bulb requires a ballast in order to regulate the power that is being pulled from the battery and redirected to the LED system. The LEDs that do not come with a ballast are less powerful / bright lights.
I have a 2016 Mazda 3 I sport with drl. Would these improve nighttime visibility compared to the stock halogen bulbs? Would I need to do anything extra besides what is shown in this video?
Thank you for your interest. Yes, the CREE Headlamp Kit would increase your nighttime driving visibility by 2-3x. Also, no, you would not need any additional products. The package linked in the description comes with everything you will need to upgrade your halogen lows to LED without any issue.
Thank you for your interest. Projector housings have a physical object in the housing to make a strict cutoff line to ensure there is no glare projecting into oncoming drivers eyes. Also, it is more or less the color of the light which causes distraction and not the actual brightness intensity itself. If you notice, the most distracting lights to see on the road are the blue HID lights which cause a lot of glare for the human eye, whereas you probably never noticed the 6000K or 8000K lights on the road because they are more natural to the human eye.
the two links, the one in the description (low beam) and the CREE 9005 (high beam) have listed the same amount of lumens. I could be wrong, but shouldn't the high beams have more?
No, that is not the case. The difference of the high and low beam is not necessarially brightness, but the angel at which light projects. The highs project further down the road, however, the brightness is the same as the lows.
Thank you for your interest. Yes, the process of installing LEDs on your highs would be identical to as shown for the low beams. The only major difference would be accessing your halogen bulb. Also, you would install a different LED kit for you highs, which you can find here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-hl-gl-headlight-led.html
Yes, the kit installed in the video would only upgrade your lows. If you are looking to upgrade the highs as well, you would also install this kit: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-led-headlights.html
The daytime running lights use the high beam bulbs at a lower power. Would LED bulbs work as the daytime running lights or would they not have enough power to turn on?
Thank you for your interest. Yes, the LEDs would act exactly as your halogens do and dim when your DRLs are turned on. LEDs have no problem dimming, so this would not be an issue.
i've just seen a few videos where they got that problem instead, putting the led headlight on the daylight wont come on...there were even lot of comment about installing a separate kit to make it work !
I lost my DRL when I had the LED installed now I have to turn on my full headlights to get my headlights to work at all ... but I'm still happier with the LED's over the old light system
Yes, we do ship all over the world, including to Turkey. We have an international shipping flat rate of 34.99 USD. Also, the headlights are 139.99 USD. You can find a direct product link in the description of the video.
Hey!man, I have a 2016 mazda & I'm trying to remove the smallest Amber color bulb on the far side of each housing so that I can replace It with this really cool LED I just got. I can see It in this video here, It is this small round white color housing which is holding the bulb in place. Is It even removable???
Could you please reference a timeframe in the video where you see this bulb? I believe you may be referring to the parking light, which is indeed typically removable.
If your DRLs project from the same bulb as your highs, then upgrading your high beam to LED would also upgrade your DRLs to LED. The installation process is virtually identical to as shown in the video, and you can find the proper high beam product here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-hl-gl-headlight-led.html
Yes, the installation process is virtually identical to as shown in the video. The only difference, if any, would be physically locating your halogen bulb.
If your DRL lights project from the same bulb as your high beam, you would want to install a CREE H11 kit, as it is a much more powerful LED. If your DRLs project from an independent bulb, then you can install the 21SMD H11 LED. Direct product links: www.precisionled.com/shop-by-bulb/exterior-leds/h11-led.html
Hey, if i were to do this to my 2016 Mazda3 iTouring, would it potentially void the warranty? Its a new car and I wouldnt want to void a warranty only a few months old
No, upgrading your lighting will not void your vehicles warranty, as it is protected by the Magnuson-Moss Act. I have linked some information on this law below for your convenience. www.impalaclub.com/naisso/magmoss.htm
PrecisionLED thanks so much! also im guessing these are the 6000k bulbs? im trying to decide between the 6000k and 8000k but im worried the 8000k will be too blue for my car
The high beam installation would be virtually identical to as shown in the video. Yes, you would need to install a completely separate LED kit, which you can find here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-led-headlights.html
Unfortunately, we do not have the 2018 headlight fitments listed in our database just yet. However, if your headlights are the same H11 fitment used in the video, the installation process would be identical to as shown in this video. You can find this information by reading through your Owner's Manual, or by physical looking at your bulb. Also, yes, you would change out just the low beams.
Thank you for your interest. The vehicle uses different bulbs for the low and high beam, which means 2 LED kits would have to be installed. The video shows the low beam installation. However, the high beam install is virtually identical. You can find the low beam package in the description of the video, and the high beam package here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-hl-gl-headlight-led.html
Yes, this also applies to the GS model. If your DRLs project from the same bulb as your lows, then upgrading your low beams will also upgrade your DRLs. Same goes for your high beam, if your highs project the DRLs.
Can anyone say what the difference between standard and premium leds are? Is premium just a little brighter? Is it any better light soread? Its double the price and all they say is its a better look.
The main reason customer decide to opt in for the Premium package is it is 2x as bright as the Standards. You can check out a full breakdown here: ruclips.net/video/eES-rxFew00/видео.html&ab_channel=PrecisionLED
I do believe that your DRL would project from the same bulb as the high beam. In which case, the DRL is the same as your high beam, except it is running about 50% power.
Thank you for your interest. You can always adjust your headlamps to point lower. However, there are many factors and many upgrades to headlight housings over the years that help mitigate any glare to oncoming drivers. It is more or less the color of the light which causes distraction and not the actual brightness intensity itself. If you notice, the most distracting lights to see on the road are the blue HID lights which cause a lot of glare for the human eye, whereas you probably never noticed the 6000K lights on the road because they are more natural to the human eye.
So are those H11 or 9005 ? I got the same car, ordered some H11 and they don’t fit, couldn’t even plug them in to see if they work cause plug was also different, so now they took those back and they’re sending me another H11 esaxtcly like those...but on my lamps says 9005...?! Any comment ?
Your low beams would use the H11 that is shown in the video. However, your highs would use a 9005 fitment. It sounds as though you are trying to install the H11 LED low beam bulb into the wrong portion of your housing.
@@felixdada4416 Unfortunately we do not have an installation video for this. However, you may be able to access the bulb via the high or low beam portion of the housing.
Have these laws been changed/upgraded at all since this video? I mean, I have a 2018 Mazda 3 and the standard headlights are extremely poor. I'm talkin you can't see things more than 5ft in front of you, which is an exaggeration but you get my point. Now when you're talkin about LED bulbs, a crap-ton of new vehicles (including other Mazda 3 of the same year as mine) come from the factory with LED/HID headlights. I'm constantly getting blinded and assaulted by these FACTORY lights, especially in pick-up trucks (Fords are REALLY bad). My car is fairly low to the ground and the headlights cut off at about the same height as a pick-up truck's bumper. So is a cop really going to have a problem with me changing out my bulbs for something brighter, when we've got vehicles straight from the factory blinding the hell out of people?
Thank you for your interest. We only sell our headlamp kits in the 6000K color temperature, as it is the brightest, with the best nighttime driving visibility.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but we currently have the CREE H11 Headlight product (item in the description) on backorder. The product has been removed from the website for a short moment. Fantastic, clear and concise video. This is how all tutorials should be done! Great job.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We really appreciate it.
If you un-clip the air intake you can access the driver side bulb very easily. No need to take the wheel well apart.

How to have the headlight and drl on all the time?
DRLs are on at all times, even during the day. I am not sure if it is wise to leave your headlamps on at all times during the day as well.
PrecisionLED... DrL’s turn off when headlights are on.. my question... is there a way to have DrL’s on when the headlights are on?
I do not believe so, as it sounds like the only way to accomplish this would be to adjust your wiring, which we do not recommend.
do you really need a ballast?
