This is a great concept, I like the hyper-realistic use of the poison typing here and the symbolism of the featured poisoned type being one of the snakes but it has some inconsistencies.
- How does the Arbok continue to end up back in Oak's possession?
- How is Oak hearing about what this Arbok has done and still justifying giving it to trainers and how has it never attacked him?
Is Oak that one who trained it to kill and perhaps trained it to only target children and Pokemon, the woman who took the trainer to the Lavender Tower and showed her the Arbok's victims' graves being an exception because she noticed too much?
- There was no description of the trainer catching Pokemon but then there is a Ratatta in their party that the Arbok killed. Where did this Ratatta come from?
- I didn't see a reason for the Arbok to turn on its trainer. Did it perhaps feel the trainer was a liability because she had attracted that woman's attention?
- Why didn't the Arbok want to learn Glare and what was the point of the attempt? I can understand that the Arbok would not want to paralyze anyone because a paralyzed Pokemon can't be poisoned but that still didn't make sense considering Arbok has one other move it learns between levels 15 and 30 in Gen 3, Screetch at level 28, and apparently it did not try to learn that.
- What was the last scene with the boy who was next to receive the Arbok? Was it a cut scene?
This might be a bit petty but I thought the deadly move needed a better name. Why not just go with the real move Poison Fang and keep that it poisoned with every use. Arbok actually doesn't seem to learn Poison Fang in Gen 3 so it still would have been unusual but conspicuous since it's a recognizable move or perhaps have gone with a more unsettling name such as 'Lethal Injection'. 'Poison Pin' just doesn't come off as deadly to me. When the player was given the option to use one of Arbok's attacks on the woman in Lavender Tower I just wasn't feeling how unsettling the moment was with that move name.
Another thing, I couldn't help wondering what would have happened had the player never used Poison Pin but spent the entire playthrough just using Bite? At the very least I would have liked the player to have tried to use Bite and be prevented as they were prevented from teaching the Arbok Glare or perhaps the Arbok would disobey and use Poison Pin instead.
Yeah, this pokepasta really sounded interesting but ended up rather underwhelming
Finally a Poképasta that doesn't say that the Pokémon died instead of fainting. Nicely done!
I am surprised that prefessor oak didn't get a lawsuit from the trainer's parents or get failed since he was the one that give a poison type Pokémon to the trainer.
So, a Pokemon hack with a homicidal Arbok that Professor Oak loves giving to kids. Atleast it didn't have Curse or Perish Song..
True, plus if their friend made the hack I gotta wonder why.
What is interesting is that oak is the only person who can capture Arbok without getting poisoned to death.
Finally another perfect pokepasta I've been waiting so long for another one thank you.
I was originally planning to drop this one over Christmas but, family stuff kinda happened so Merry Belated Christmas!
That arbok broken af, add Seviper via transfer to your team and you will be a menace
Dude you’re so underrated, you deserve much more! I love your narration and your voice is relaxing 😊
Thanks 😊 I'm glad you like what I do it makes it all worth it aha
@@silver_ I’m suprised you replied! Thanks! I’ll be supporting you and I bet one day you’ll have more subs :)
Am I the only one who hear "struck with confusion" and thought, Arbok knows confusion now?
That would be far too OP
Fun fact I started writing my own creapypasta yesterday.
Busta, straight busta
Really enjoyed this one. This could be a real ROM hack actually! Hope you had a good New Year!
I think so too! Also hope you had a good new year too!
Yes, I want a rom hack with not just an Ekans as a starter but with the other two-stage pure-Poison Pokemon, Koffing and Grimer.
thats it? i thought there were more sad details to this and that the character in the game collected poison type pokemon on purpose for revenge... EDIT: oops, i got it confused with poison point
Steel types stay winning then yo 😂
Heheh ow the edge XD
This would be a concept for a modded romhack surprised noone made this into that yet
Fun fac
Fun fact I started my own pokemon creapypasta.
Your narrations are great
I could see this being a real rom hack
Same, it's all within realistic boundaries and quite an interesting premise, I wanna know what would have happened if they made the "other" decision
@@silver_ the best Pokémon creppypastas are the ones that sound realistic like lost silver and Easter egg on mt silver
What would happen if you didn’t upset it by trying to make it learn glare would it spare you?
Someone asking the real questions here aha
@@silver_ I want to know myself

Eh, Poison Purple isn't the _worst_ rom I've ever played, but it has some serious issues with difficulty curve. To begin with, beginning the game with an underleveled pre-evolution, combined with the fact that most gym leaders in the game are already dead, makes the first half extremely easy--almost effortless. The tedium of grinding against Bug trainers with a Poison type makes it quite the mindless slog.
But then, the game takes an unbelievably sharp difficulty spike once you are forced to go to Lavender Town early, before you even get a single badge. From here, the fact that Arbok begins murdering your other pokemon makes Nuzlocking this hack nearly impossible. Even a regular playthrough is unbelievably hard and tedious considering you only have a single Arbok with just two relatively weak moves as your only pokemon.
After the game's rathet abrupt ending, there is *some* replay value with the New Game Plus where you begin the game again with your Arbok at the same level it was at the end of your first playthrough, but without any new moves or pokemon, the second run is much the same as the first.
As for the game's writing, the moral is seriously undercut by the fact that both Professor Oak and Nurse Joy already know your Arbok is to blame for the deaths. If they were aware this whole time, why on earth wouldn't they tell you beforehand? Why is Oak giving this living nightmare to _multiple_ trainers in succession after it killed its previous owner? Rom hacks generally don't have the best dialogue, but this is poor even by the usual standards.
All in all, this rom does little to improve the base game and in many ways hinders it. Overall, I rate it a 2 out of 10. If you're looking for a good Pokemon Fire Red romhack to play this winter, I would recommend Pokemon Vega.
Dayum that's a hell of a review aha
I was trying to make the story as short as possible since I didn't want to add every little detail. Obviously the game runs like the actual rom so it's not like you don't have any badges at all. Of course you get the given badges before Lavender Town, that's just common sense, so your not "forced" into Lavender Town. Again, I didn't want the story super long so I just added the details from my experience that I thought would be more important. Sorry you didn't like it, but not sorry at the same time.
If it's any consolation I liked it?
Edit: I will say, feel free to write a longer story in future if you feel you need to for filling out the backstory I personally don't mind I love longer stories 😊
@@dusklightt2390 I was making a joke "review" and treating it as though it were a legit romhack I played, which I obviously haven't, lol. I wasn't criticising your _story._ Sorry it came across that way, lol.
@@metaljacket8128 lmao I'm sorry, I hope I didn't come off too hard. It's a lot harder to tell the mood of someone through text.
