I enjoy seeing other makers work, too . Being self taught I am always interested in how others reach the same goal we all have , to make a good sounding instrument that is easy to play and looks good.
@BrianTimmonsTX I seen your work on violin discussion group and you are way ahead of where I was on my 1st violin. Being self taught I have to figure out how to do things and having a resource such as violin discussion group has helped me a lot. I am on violin #31 and I really didn't feel like I was getting the hang of it until #20 something. The one thing you can be sure of is that everyone has a opinion on the right way to do something. I try them all and use the ones that work for me. If you need help on anything just ask. I am sure you can teach me something to.
@ Awesome, thanks for the kind words and the offer of assistance! If I ever make it to your neck of the woods I’ll be sure to look you up. Until then, see ya on the forum! 😄
I love fiddle, I have four already. I have never played a violin with walnut back and sides. I'm from Canada, but if possible id love to possibly have a chance at owning that fiddle.
Hi Dave! Looks like you make really nice violins. That walnut violin is very interesting and I wonder how it sounds. I definitely would love to have that or any of your violins. I'm very interested in learning how to make violins and look forward to watching your progress. Btw, what is this forum you mentioned in other comments? Thank you!
Thank you, I am on #31 . You will find that violin making is addictive. There is always a new way of doing something and making new jigs and tools for the different tasks is almost as fun of making the instrument's.

I would love that violin.

I suspect he loves and knows good timbers like me.
Beautiful workmanship, I'm only on my second violin build but I'm loving the journey so far, if mine end up half as nice as yours I'll be a happy man.
Mick, I follow your work on the violin discussion group, and I think your work is outstanding. Your scroll work is beautiful..
@stammviolins very much appreciated, I do love carving the scroll.
I would like to be considered for your re-claimed walnut violin!
I’m in the middle of violin #1. Following with interest from Texas!
