- Three Richelieu battleships (1943, 1945 & 1952 versions) sailing during our Meeting with my mates in Sologne (France). My own ship is firing it's 380mm (15 inch) guns which are now realistic power wise.
3:52 The ducks be like DIVE DIVE!!!!! In the words of a man from the movie red October whose name I have forgotten, “come on big D fly!”
Jonesy IIRC
I wonder how effective it would be to rig one of these boats for duck hunting...
lots of noise but little accuracy...
3:54
Duck gets almost a heartattack lmao
This is awesome! Those salvos actually rock the ship! Beautiful job!
Holy shit a great job I hope to see more new battleships soon.
Well I got the hull of Yamato finished, but I've paused it... Who knows, in another few years... a full salvo from Yamato would be delightful. I also toyed with the idea of a soviet Kirov Battle cruiser with real rockets. easier to implement than gun tubes and plenty of bang for the money.
Oh my God that laugh after the first salvo was sooo French, "Hohohohoh"
Love it, and the ships are beautiful too.
Les plesir de trois bateaux cést fantastique!
Beaucoup d' aventure, ca bateau c'est demande!!
3 Richelieus, AND Judas Priest, it does not get much better than that !
Great! Someone finally appreciates my musical tastes! Thx
@@LaF0IRE is my son, who's got the same musical tastes as me...
My father was on that French ship working communications while in the US navy before WW2. He always said “ The French were some of the most arrogant, condescending and rude sailors he ever worked with”. However, when he was on the King George, he said the Brit’s were great friendly bunch.
That firing is outstanding! Very realistic, well done. Love how the salvos rock the ship a bit. Nice work, thank you.
Thx, it rocks the ship a bit too much (I do not think a full salvo of 380mm rocked the real life Richelieu).
This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!!!!!!
THANK YOU FOR THAT!! It really is absolutely amazing and I think you should (if you already have not) sell this so everyone can have more realistic firing instead of the pretty lame BB gun ones that are worse than a actual BB gun. its really sad what the others have to use and you would simply be bringing joy to every child on earth. well 40 year old children but joy none the less!
Hello John, well, the tubes are made from aerospace grade aluminium lined with bronze like the real thing (apart from aluminium). These shoot blanks as firing bullets would be far too dangerous to onlookers. Then again insert a 3.8mm slug in the barrels and you've got yourself live firing guns.
I can machine guns on the same design using electric igniters for any ship for material price... just contact me if anyone is interrested. Thx again for your comment. Serge
@@RichelieuBDL what size blanks are you using?
hello @@93FORDMUSTANG it's 3.8mm (380mm to 1:100 scale obviously).
I always loved the Richelieu design - beautiful ship ! The ships produce a nice wave pattern , without appearing too fast (like a lot of warship models !) best wishes from Wales
Hello, plenty of "oomph" left in the 4 brushless motors to go faster. But you've got to be reasonable with the throttle to be realistic though. The power is nice to have for emergency breaking.
Я отдохнул с вами!!! Спасибо!!!
Heloo,, watching, this ship fire compared to all the BB giuys? No contest.
The duck frightener! 😂
Just simply amazing.. I was getting a very nostalgic ww2 vibe .. then I turned on the sound .. AUGH!!! 80' metals music...just doesn't fit or do your incredible work justice . Its like watching a documentary of the Normandy invasion with Micheal Jacksons Dirty Diana playing in background,, just doesn't fit ..
But that takes nothing away from what you have put together the insane amount of work and collective efforts to put all of this together. Well Done.!
Hello David, and thank you so much for your comment. I am sorry you don't approve of the Judas Priest soundtrack. But well, in my mind, this was a heavy metal ship, and, as such, it deserved a Heavy metal soundtrack! As Rob Halford would put it, I am a heavy metal maniac! And I think it takes one. to build this think and be mad enough to create those guns 😜. In any case, there is no collective effort in this build. I did everything by myself. So, I get to choose the music! 😁
French naval history....without the need for scuba gear or submersibles!!
this is a pretty por joke.
Sorry, I forgot to add that the French Navy still got plenty of Oomph packed into nuclear armed submarines.
@@RichelieuBDL bullshit
🤣🤣🤣
Wow!
You just earned yourself a sub, fantastic models!!
Thanks for the sub!
A sub? Like a VII C U-boat?😉
The greatest I have seen yet! I want one scaled to 12 guage for us 16" guns with a 6 round magazine for each gun. Dragons Breath shell would be a lot of fun. I'd don't have the money and would surely have a legal problem.
Great job!
Imagine the guts of a some semiauto .22 pistols in the turrets with some cell phone cameras in the turret range finders...
No toy sailboat would be safe.
@@timberwolf1575 oh the fun!
@@TheBrohamExpress hey guys, come down a bit. Where I live this is already illegal, so please forget the .22LR. my choice would rather be be .223 Remington instead of fire crackers.
@@RichelieuBDL it sounds like a good time!
How do the guns work? What are you firing?
just blanks. black powder with fireworks electrical igniters
Great models!! But 3:57 you just scared the bejesus outta of the duck.
Yes, but unwillingly though. To my defense I could not see the duck family from where I was driving.
if there is a set up I would be interested in buying one. even if it's the entire ship done. I would prefer a Iowa class because, Merica! but I would fly the French flag all day long for a ship like that. just sayin and I actually do have some French heritage and hell "Merica" would never have existed without France so hook a guy up ;-)
Hello John and thx for your comment. This ship took 4 years to build (thousands and thousands of manhours put into it), so I am not ready to sell it just yet. In anycase, when you build something like this from scratch, there is so much of you that get into it that it is hard to put a price on it. In the meantime, I am able to manufacture cannons on my home lathe for any ship model. In the meantime, you can see pictures of the built step by step here: amis-model-naval-rc.forumactif.org/t37-construction-du-cuirasse-richelieu-automne-1943?highlight=richelieu (it's in French sorry). God bless Lafayette hey?
The ducks- Ohh oh my god
3:52 the duck seems to be like come check the new guy in the pool he swims like us ,come on kids lets see him, as when the gun fires, the mother duck was like, 'dive'" dive" dive faster it is a duck hunter kids faster.
this ship is for sale, please make offfer. livefiring guns!
I wish I could afford a beauty like that. I don't know how you can part with it. It is a work of art.
$500 CAD? Can go higher maybe
At 3.57-58 watch the duck at the back crap itself and skedaddle!! Great stuff!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
(but I'd convert those guns into .410 shotguns and cruise up to ducks!! We're having roast duck tonight guys!!)
converting those guns to something bigger would ruin the scale of the ship!
@@RichelieuBDL I know that!! But to build a model of, say, a 2-gun river boat firing 177 cal pellets would be fun!! THEN you could re-enact naval actions for real!! 🤣🤣🤣👍
Imagine if this ship faught Jean Bart at Casablanca.
Hello, I do get quite a few comments such as "where can I buy this kit" or "how do the cannons work". Well, the text is in French, but you'll find the entire building process through pictures here: amis-model-naval-rc.forumactif.org/t37-construction-du-cuirasse-richelieu-automne-1943?highlight=richelieu
Beautiful ! However, next time, don't fire when ducks are nearby the warship.
Too late, didn't see them from where I was standing.
Heavy Metal ships
Yep, 45000 tons of it 😊
Is the first one the Dunkirk?
nope...
@@RichelieuBDL Must be the Jean Bart.
Can we have a rc battleship battle pls :)
It's a fs dankerque
No, Dunquerque class were battle cruisers. Richelieu was the bigger battleship class. With the same forward artillery arrangement to give chase and cross the T. Top speed was 32 knots. It was designed to counter Bismark and Littorio classes.
Envy would not be quite the right word!
wow
3:57 🤣🤣🤣
I can't make heads or tails about these models or is it mo-delle'. Which one is doing the firing, and that yapping in the background, kids ''Kid's should be seen and not heard'' ha ha. I had to say it, to me it was annoying. I'm an old grouch so bear with me, ha ha. Nice looking models, I do have to say. Ori-vwoh or Adios, whatever floats your boat, get it???
