Wuthering Waves has started a web event that allows players to trade cards and get a 5 star echo of their choice when wuthering waves game releases on may 22. Ene will be going over each character and their respective 3 star echo for damage dealing or useful mechanics to help new players start the game off right from closed beta 2 experience.

Hopefully people get lucky on release with the main stats but atleast the substats are guaranteed once you get to union lvl 8 ( which is very fast )
Your Databank Terminal will be leveling regardless as long as you pick a gold echo, So you might as well pick one that your main character could potentially use

My Advice - Those who are unsure of which echo to decide on, The event doesn’t end till June 6 while the game comes out May 22. Just wait until you get the character you’ll receive from the beginner banner then select the echo accordingly from the event.

Being able to share the best echos to other people must be the most wholesome thing about this. I loved Ji Yan and Aalto, but I got none of the good echos for them, even of cost 1. I just found about the web event today, so I wouldn't have time to try again later. Now I went to the discord group and found TWO beautiful people that shared a COST 3 5-STAR CYAN FEATHERED HERON, and now I have the perfect echo for my favorite characters, I'm so happy

Best guide I found. I'm maining Jiyan and male Rover and I'm doubting if I'll choose violet or cyan heron before. This also cleared my doubt that 3-cost gold cyan heron existed. This helps me a lot

This was a really helpful and insightful guide I was already nervous about the campaign because I didn't know if I could share the event to be able to complete some of the missions but thankfully with linking the Discord there's tons of people sharing their links so I'm practically guaranteed to gather up all of the creatures before the event to climb all the rewards and I got my Violet heron as well. I'll be making a ton of guides and gameplay videos for the channel for each character once the game is in reach and proper testing has been done because alot of things changed from cbt2 to new release. Do you have any advice on which character to pick? Outside of waifu or husbando, have there been any standouts that might survive the test of time? Im thinking of trying a limited/no-pull f2p account and just blow it all on some future character after 6 months-year of saving (if i even play for that long)
First, thank you for the awesome comment. I will do my best to deliver short and concise content in the near future for wuthering waves.
Second, my experience testing f2p just generally using the free characters ( Rover, Chixia, Baizha, Yuanwu, and Yangyang ) you can definitely clear content like up to Hologram 5 and atleast make to Tower Hazard difficulty from my experience. That’s what I generally plan to do if I get verina, Just use the four star dps units until a 5 star I find interesting personally appears in future patches.

I've been seing alot of people talks about this game. Now that I've seen it, it does looks interesting. Btw this echo thingy you were talking about, is that some kind of pet/companion?
Echoes are basically pokemon that you summon out to deal damage or buff your units but they go back in their pokeball ( terminal ) after a set time duration. Some echoes you will be able to ride with according to the developer interview notes we received last month.

I enjoy doing complex stuff but make very quick and simple so that’s what I do on the channel, Which I’m happy alot of people enjoy the format.
Yes, I will be making breakdowns vids for each character next week and then actual guides till after release but it’ll take sometime to edit them so maybe a 1 or 2 day gap inbetween.
As far the second banner it should be Yinlin if the game will still follow the format of CBT 2.

Nice and concise. Small question, though. I'm planning to go for Danjin and Taoqi. As such I'm looking at Roseshroom, Dreadmane, and Tambourinist. Would you rank them in any specific order, or is the difference in performance negligible? Assuming I've got access to all 3, therefore convenience is not an issue.

Priority Wise

1. Roseshroom ( Summoning type, So you can dish out your own dps while its on the field also its very quick to summon out due to its low cooldown while doing really good respectable havoc damage from testing )
2. Tamburinist ( Summoning type but spawns where enemy is and dont move afterwards, Doesnt Deal Damage itself but it does give you the ability to deal additional havoc damage if you time the melodies correctly by attacking on key. )
3. Dreadmane ( last only because its a transformable, Deals high Havoc damage and can deal additional havoc damage if first hit connects, another plus that it is a fast attacker but downside is the cooldown is way too long for echo use compared to the other ones above.

I'd like to correct one mistake. You don't get the Echo as soon as the game starts, you need to reach Union L8. I don't know how long that takes, but I assume it'll be pretty fast.

hey, I have an additional question, will there be starting characters in Wuthering Waves to build a good team from them? because I would only want to play with them
If you didn’t lock your echo yet just wait till the game releases and you’ll have your five star then you can choose the echo accordingly to the element of the character but I wouldn’t worry too much since the overall goal is to grab a gold echo for early terminal experience.
Starting characters
Yangyang ( Wind )
Baizha ( Ice )
Chixia ( Flame )
Rover ( F or M ) ( Light )
Sanhua ( Daily login Day 5 )
Yuanwu ( Clearing first 2 floors of tower )
All of these characters for now will be able to clear general content till you get your five star from the beginner banner.

I got the fusion warrior and saved it without knowing what the event was for.
Luckily, the fusion warrior is pretty good for gun users, which i plan to play since it allows them to parry, even though they are ranged characters.
Chixia will love it since it does have the built in counter attack and the low cooldown it applies once it hits, which makes it very consistent. As you already stated which is true it’s good for range units since they cant parry 👌

I got the t start Violent Heron but the cards shows the electro element I was not able to find the same card with molten icon so how do I get the pryo effect? Is that random as on the card seems to says possible sonata so I guess is luck. Thanks for the video btw.
no worries and I'm happy to help. The echo card you select will come in one out of the two elements shown on the card at random but you will have fixed stats that's usable till you get to gold farming throughout the game later, so no worries. hopefully i helped out with the confusion.
i have heard that flautist is a very good echo to pick as well for electro, apparently it only spawns once a day so its hard to farm. tambourine also good for dark.
yeah they're very good options if you get them, I just choose electro Heron over flautist just because of the special ability to negate attacks.
I just found out about this event. I tried to get 5* flautist from discord links but it kept failing so I gotta wait til next day to try again. Is it still worth it to try and claim a 5* knowing the game will come out soon? Also I got confused about the echo lock, so out of all the echos we pull or redeem, we can only keep the one we locked in the homescreen?
The event doesn’t till June 6th so you have plenty of time to grab an echo so no worries it’s really meant for early terminal exp as a major part anyways.
As for your second question, Yes once you lock an echo you’ll won’t be able to change and you will also have the one echo sent to your box ingame once you reach Union level 8.

Thanks for the content, appreciate you bro. Random side note (not a big deal promise) but Cyan Heron is pronounced "Sigh-An Hair-un." You can google it for the pronunciation. Also "parable" is the wrong word at 2:26, that's a short story, you're looking for "parryable" which uses the same phonetics as "variable". Just thought I'd point it out for ya since I'd want someone to correct me if I ever pronounced something wrong. Hate it when people ignore it and I go around saying things wrong for a long ass time. can someone explain to me how the "Possible Sonatas" thing work? I've only seen lightning Violet-Feather Herons so I'm wondering if I can even claim a fire version from the event
Possible Sonata TLDR - Just the possible element an echo can be under.
The event will have the echo but once you see the echo on release it will be either one element or the other element that is listed on the card.
Example : Violent Heron could be Electro or Fusion element that you will see on release that you claimed through the event.

Yeah you can only lock and accept one echo to be delivered to you in game on May 22nd. Personally, Since the event ends in June, I would either wait to see which character you’ll want the echo for or if you have decided on an interesting character be sure to pick one that’ll you like to have.
I don't know who I will main, but I got the Flautist because I've heard it help me fill the data bank soo yeah since I'll change that echo in like two-three weeks after the game launch it's not like I'll brick my account by choosing wrong
You can wait until you find out what character you get on release since the event doesn’t end till June 6. You are correct about the echo terminal being leveling regardless so yeah it won’t brick your account progression period 👌

Yes, I’m currently working on breakdowns for each character well I’ll try too before release to help players atleast grasp the general idea of how each character works. Just the editing does take time also I’ll probably save guides for release due to updated builds and potential new information 🫡

In terms of rarity from CBT 2 experience

Electro Heron : only spawned 3 - 5
Flautist : only spawned about 4 - 6
Tambourinist : only spawned about 3
So if you’re a collector I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself getting echoes that barely drop, which is a good feeling after farming for long from my experience. Unless devs fix this but we’ll see on release 👌

To answer your question
Redeeming the echo is only a 30% chance of success ( 5 Star ) when you’re clicking a shared echo gift card link from your friend. If not successful you will have to find someone else but you can only redeem up to 5 echoes per day so choose an echo careful. You can more people posting their echo gift cards in the wuthering waves main cord - discord.gg/wutheringwaves

Flautist don't you consider them good if one aims for DPS Electro? in the worst case you find a generic 10% ATK BONUS.
flautist will be a good option to have if you are going for either yinlin or kakarot for the additional energy to help both units get their ultimates very easily.
Hey thanks for this! I’m having problems with the share echo and invite friend missions, no matter how many times I’ve sent the links, the missions aren’t being completed. The backpack says I’ve shared 5 tho🤷🏻♂️
The missions will count as completed once the friend that you shared the link to has made an account and registered through your link.
The shared echo one should work once you sent the link for them to claim but be aware that it’s a 30% chance of them successfully claiming it.

If you can find a gold Violent Heron because of the negate attack and hard to farm ingame so I”ll would 1000% switch but nonetheless Flautist is still a solid pick for Kakarot and Yinlin high energy cost for their liberation.

@@janm5854 hey, I would still suggest you participate in the event now, to work towards the completion rewards you can get. Every day you log into the event page you get 4 pulls, so if you do nothing else, you still get 30 pulls a week. Good luck! 👍🏾
How do you get credit for sharing? I’ve copied the links, shared via gmail, etc, and nothing works, I don’t get credit. I also emailed an invite link to 4 friends and didn’t get credit for that.
When they used the link you sent to your friends were they not registered yet ?
If it was through your link and they didn’t have an account before then it should work ( Give you attempts ) once they registered for the first time.
If it’s by sharing echo gift cards, Then you gotta make sure your friends got the echo you sent by successfully claiming it.

I was so lucky to pull the 2 herons in 1st 10 but was really struggling to choose which one...but then again i chose the violent one...if it can negate any attack i hope i can take advantage of it on a 1 hit KO attack boss.
Yeah it’ll negate the first attack instance so very good in hologram and endgame tower content 👌

You can indeed wait till after release to claim your echo depending on the first beginner character you receive also since the event ends on June 6th.

How the heck does this work? Do you like get a specific character? I don't understand at all, aren't some of the characters supposed to be on the future banner or what?
You select an echo ( recommended 3 Cost Gold ) for any character you would want to have start playing early once wuthering waves come out on May 22. This event is very good for your echo terminal level ( Pokédex ) and gives players a good headstart with echo farming that is gets a little grindy late game.

Beginner Banner - You’ll have a banner that has standard 5 characters that you will get guaranteed by 50 pulls.

Banner that stays
-----
Limited Character Banner - 50/50 limited character banner ( 80 pity )
Limited Weapon Banner - Usually for the limited character but this banner guarantee you the weapon at 80 pity
Standard Banner - that you can get any one of the standard characters from the banner at 80 pity.
Standard Weapon Banner - You can select the weapon you want and once you hit pity ( 80 ) or early then you will have the weapon guaranteed.

I don't understand the rarity of the echo. I got flautist but it got green frame, so like is it good or not?
Gold is the one you wanna get because it gives you the most Echo exp to potentially let you farm even more gold echoes in the future, Once your terminal lvl hits 15 - 17.

Jiyan Jianxin and female Rover for me, I also want to use Yinlin because of how cool she is. She gives me Vera vibes from pgr, totally looking forward to playing this awesome game

Cyan Heron, since comes in either Aero element or Spectre element which both characters use.

Should be locked to a single account because they do need to transfer it to your mail with the account you signed in with through the event.

sadly you cant switch the servers from event, you would have to create another account for the server your playing on.

Not necessarily just because of the fieldtime traffic uses but you could use either the golem echo or the ice echo I used recommended in the video for the light element.

you can go autopuppet, You would just have to make sure its the light version. In terms of unique defensive mechanics for general starting content I would go with rock steady since it can help for long time situations like tower or overworld bosses more consistently.

No not at all, You can choose which ever Gender you want on release.

Absolutely not, Everyone should not underestimate that you will need atleast a healer or 2 for Tower of Adversity Content. Verina and Baizha are by far gonna be needed for the tower and high level hologram floors.
One thing I gotta correct you on, is the fact that the echo won't be _immediately_ sent to you when you start the game.
You gotta first reach *level 8* . And then it'll be sent to the mailbox.

in terms of damage yes, Heron is there because of the unique negate attack mechanic and also that it is rare to get the ( from my experience of Closed beta 2 )

Unfortunately you can’t change the servers once you selected it. Only way to change it to make another account, But don’t worry about it too much since the main point of the event is to get extra exp for terminal and the event don’t end till June 6th.
How to differentiate between Violet Heron electric and flame type in the event, because the colour is not shown whether it is purple or red?
The echo will be a random element out of the that are shown on the card.
Example : Violent Heron says Electro on the card but at the bottom is says Electro and or Fusion element. So Heron will either come in electro main element or Fusion element once you get the echo after reaching Union Level 8.

Yes, it’s alright for aero units but if you didn’t lock it yet, Try to find Cyan Heron for the quick parry mechanic. Carapace can also parry but you need to really time its delay attack on his first instance 👌

Bro how to check Substats of the echo in web event as I dont have early access to the game.
The 2 substats will already be on the echo once you receive it but you do have 3 other substats to upgrade afterwards since they’re 5 substats in total.

1 Cost - Atk% and Hp

solid choice and he hasnt been talked about lately from my perspective but man is he fun to play once you get his build right
anything but auto puppet seems giga grief if you don't hit the 50/50 win like for danjin if you roll like the fire on dreadmane you just doomed if you roll frost it's fine can use it on sanhua but like any 2 element who doesn't have spirit/frost is so risky to pick the echo is basically for mostly early game anyway so you want to put it on characters you guaranteed to get early
yup at the end of the day, the event is just for early terminal exp use. Auto puppet would be safest since sanhua is free and can also use it for rover who is also free but we all still have to go through the main stat rng sadly haha

The only thing I hate about this Event is that the Shared Echo's can fail meaning you need multiple tries to get one why this is bad is very simple you only have 5 attempts per day to get a Shared Echo with my shit luck I failed multiple days in a Row to get one. xD

I get the echo failing feels, Took me 2 days to get my bird but it is a 30% chance plus atleast the event doesn't run out till june so that's a plus after all of this stuff XD. I mean the Echo is limited to keeping 1 anyways why does it have to be rng at that point.
Specifically when it's a farmable Resource later on.
On the Editing thing I don't mind longer Video's if they are long because of a lot of info but most Creators these days just stretch stuff by repeating themselves or talking slower which feels bad to watch.
So I appreciate Creators like you that make short Video's with all the Info people need instead of stretching stuff to fill 10 mins or something. :D

And I somehow managed to redeem a lot of other 5 stars before it, so I started to think that you can't redeem an echo you've alredy lost to once. Oh i messed up, I did this event with no knowledge and locked in some shitty green echo. I have a few gold echos on the web event too...
Don’t sweat it too much, Eitherway this event is a good start for leveling your echo terminal anyways which is important in my opinion.
You should still finish the event for the other rewards. Like Ene said, this was only saving us a single drop in a large bucket of farmed echoes as we level up and explore. You're not behind by much from that mistake.

1 Cost Gold is good ( Only for the bigger exp for easier farming later game )
3 Cost Purple isnt ( Low exp for terminal but brightside you get a better main stat then what youll get with a 1 cost )
3 Cost Gold would be the one you wanna go for because itll give bigger dmg upgrades, Better Main Stats and more exp for your Echo terminal

Tambourinist is an excellent second option for Danjin and Taoqi because it’s a summoning type. This way you’ll be able to dish out your own Dps damage while the echo is not only doing damage by itself but also gives you extra havoc damage bonus.

Unfortunately not, Everyone will have to see which respectful element you’ll get once you hit lvl 8 in game. 🫡

Correct, The echo on the card is just the main element it can come in but every echo has more than one element they fall under ( Majority of sets are just 2 elements ) such as for example Violent Heron.

Find a link that has the echo you want and try to see if there are some redeemable attempts, You can find alot of of echoes in

Depends on your playstyle preference really so I would definitely wait till release to try some units out. This game really needs a hands on experience for people to understand and play with these characters in my opinion. Definitely pick who you think looks very interesting.

Get to union Level 8 and the echo you locked in the event should show up in your mailbox in game. Just make sure you’re playing on the correct server you selected during the event.

I would definitely try to get Violent heron ( negate any first attack from enemy ) or even Flautist ( gives the player concerto energy when it attacks for intro/outro skills use ) if going for Kakarot.
