The emotions of yesteryear are often difficult to pin down again. "Shore of Dreams." "Riverlands." It's like the nostalgia is caught in the flow of songs like those, and we get to brief feel the emotions again when the waters rush by. From one "fox" to another, I sincerely that you were able to find some calm/peace during the past year while listening to these songs.
Who did the cover art? The dreamy watercolor look is indeed very peaceful. It's well done. Not having played most of these games even for a minute, I'm not sure if it's game-art inspired, or totally original.
GreatNorthernDad What's funny is that I have played most of most of these games several times, and I don't know if it's original or game art inspired, either. The blonde in white looking wistfully into the ocean as something lurks in the depths, as a palm tree with starfruit leans over at sunset, fits the tone of these JRPGs very well. These JRPGs in particular are usually so well grounded and just ever so slightly fantastical, just a smidge off from our world, made up of a hodgepodge of many elements of reality but never quite being set in reality. There are some exaggerated elements, but they're always tied into a coherent sense of style, and that style is what sets apart each world more than any individual element of the games. The ocean figures large in Chrono and Final Fantasy games, personal, heartfelt longing figures strongly in all of them, at the very least.
I end up writing the most beautiful shit listening to your music, and then afterwards worry I'll never quite be able to capture what your interpretations made me feel in what I wrote.
Thank you so much! I've been waiting this one for some time now. U're the best, TPR. Love your stuff. I'll listen the whole thing 100 times. (No kidding)
I love this entire album of combination of piano and cello. Both instruments seem to be made for nostalgic music, and in the hands of you two, the net effect is awesome.
Lazy Afternoons came on while I was grading papers and my heart welled up a little bit (Shore of Dreams did it for to me too, but not as strongly). I felt an intense sense of peace, openness, and love for a moment. Thank you!
Lazy Afternoon makes me want to just sit back and let the melancholy wash over me. Such an exquisite feeling. It's probably akin to what Sophie felt (in Howl's Moving Castle) when she came upon the lake and just wanted to sit there to pass the time peacefully.
Beautiful as always. I absolutely love the combination of the cello and piano. I have written three books while listening to collections of your music.
The odds are VERY long, unfortunately. The equipment used to master vinyl is aging rapidly, and no one is making more. The people who know how to do it are aging and dying at an alarming rate, and not many young people are taking up the trade. Unfortunately it is getting to the point where the vinyl revolution may well require a huge capital investment soon or die entirely. Small projects like TPR are simply not going to be able to afford to do something so niche and expensive, even now while it is still somewhat feasible.
Thanks for selling this a wide variety of platforms. Is Amazon ever viable for you? Trying to keep my credit card out of google's hands, but had to make an exception here.
This album collection came out when I was in Africa teaching music. I would ride the bus and go for walks listening to this. Love it.
This makes me nostalgic for something I can't quite remember... a faded memory from a simpler time

Rito Village is so wonderfully beautiful. It gives me chills almost everytime. So pretty & relaxing. Almost instantly relieves any worry you have.
Me finding this video: "Oooh, nice. I'll just listen to this while I work on this progra-"
Me 5 minutes later: "I can't stop crying to do anything"

I loved The Riverlands, makes me cry sometimes :3
Fantastic. Thanks for doing what you do!
TPR really has too few followers... the melancholy series views are probably half mine
Possibly my favorite album that you've done. Great job! And kudos to Roxane on the excellent strings!
This was strangely removed from Apple Music recently... hopefully it'll be back soon...

Beautiful. Thank you both for this.
This album helped put me to sleep during Covid. Thank you for this!
Beautiful, as always. Thank you! Question: you ever had any interest in melancholy tributes to Hallow Knight or Undertale?
chronno chross AND octopath traveler? IM IN

I love this album so much!! Been listening very frequently for months now. The songs are so relaxing!
I am thrilled that some Bravely Default has found its way into this. I adore the OST of BD&BS
Any chance of a physical vinyl release?
