One of the first things I read about in astrobiology. Makes sense and shows how old the universe is. Scale and time are far greater than I thought before.

My only thing people, that you have to keep in mind while watching videos about space and stars and galaxies, etc... You are hearing "Theory" presented as "Fact"... It is Very Impressive and Very Interesting to hear, but at the end of the day it is still only Theory...
Sure, you need to keep that in mind if you don't understand the difference between "theory" in common usage and "theory" in scientific usage.

The meaning of the term scientific theory (often contracted to theory for brevity) as used in the disciplines of science is significantly different from the common vernacular usage of theory. In everyday speech, theory can imply an explanation that represents an unsubstantiated and speculative guess, whereas in science it describes an explanation that has been tested and widely accepted as valid." So, while watching videos about space and stars and galaxies, etc. that refer to *scientific theory*, yes, yes you can consider what is being presented as fact, because it's gone through repeated and rigorous testing from a multitude of sources that all came to the same established and agreed upon conclusion.

@@dzikrinasaira3475 (tl;dr - We don't have all the answers, but we have A LOT, and they've been tested repeatedly and improved upon for hundreds of years by a countless number of people. It's called learning. There's a reason why certain facts are labeled as "universally accepted".)
While we don't have all the answers, we actually have quite a few in relation to consciousness. Consciousness, which includes the other items you mentioned (emotion, thought, opinion) we know a lot of proven facts about. Hundreds of years of study and research have led to a many universally accepted facts, such as those dealing with electrical impulses, neurochemicals, pheromones, hormones, etc. Generally speaking, human emotion is handled by the frontal lobe of the brain. I could go on, but there's just way too much.
All of this is not to say that all of these facts are permanent. Information is always evolving, since it's being built upon by new research and new discoveries. There's a reason we no longer believe that emotions are regulated by "humours", fluids in the body that consist of blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm. There's a reason we don't practice bloodletting as a cure for illness and disease anymore, since the overwhelming majority of cases were shown to actually cause more harm than good. The lobotomies of old, done with an ice pick and hammer, have been all but abolished since we learned this method most often resulted in serious harm to the patient rather than fixing the issue. Trepanning, drilling a permanent hole into the skull, was often done to let out "evil spirits" which were causing the patient harm. A craniotomy or craniectomy is now done today but for very understood health reasons, not to release a boogieman from someone's head. There's also the Flat Earth and Hollow Earth theories, Geocentrism, Heliocentrism, Emission Theory of Vision, Miasmatic theory, and on and on, all of which either evolved or were superceded when our understanding of the related field increased due to our advancement in more accurate methods of study.
The better we get at gathering information, the more we refine our understanding of how and why things are the way they are, which often means showing that our earlier understanding was actually incomplete and/or incorrect because of this new information. It's called learning. Just as how I imagine Fran Guy learned the difference between the casual definition and the scientific definition of the word "theory" from my reply, since it seems he didn't know the difference as his original comment was trying to discredit the *facts* being presented in the video as just guesses, using the incorrect definition of the term.
Realize that our ability to comment here, on RUclips, on a massive streaming media site, on the internet, on a computer/tablet/phone, that has been powered by electricity and computer chips and processors - all of that has been made possible by the scientific theories that have been established regarding the most basic aspects of how and why any of that works. Not a single part of that would be possible if the theories behind them were just "guesses".
Wouldn't it be awesome if we could extract the information each atom carries!

WRONG. Heavy elements are formed during the life of a star. They are released during novas. The Safire Project has demonstrated this.
All elements between lithium and nickel are indeed formed during the lives of stars of sufficient mass! But because the two most stable elements in the universe are nickel and iron, producing any heavier elements through fission consumes energy rather than producing it. When that starts to happen in a star, it dies. For stars with enough mass, that causes a collapse and nova event that briefly raises the internal pressure and temperature high enough to fuse elements all the way up to plutonium (and higher, but those heavier elements are unstable and quickly decay to plutonium or lower). The nova ejects most of the star's mass into space, where those newly created elements might eventually clump up into new stars and planets.

They don't explode. But you can have neutron star collisions, which produce huge amounts of elements heavier than iron.

No. We were created by god in his image, why is science starting to sound like new age stuff? Oneness with the universe, we're created by the universe and nothing and the big bang, and that we will return to the universe, or that we are "energy", reallllyy??? Absolutely not, this is a terrible thing to be teaching. Jesus died for our sins so we may be reconnected to god, but instead we are straying further and further away. We want to do everything possible in life to live a life without him and create our own pointless meaning.
