4:28 when he asked that AI question I got the same feeling that you get from watching an old video interview (with the knowledge of how it turned out) from like the 60's where they are talking about some new inovation that's coming and how it might change the world

When I was young and Bill was for a long long time the richest Man on earth, I always admired his ability to make this money and was envy. Today Bill not the richest anymore and probably won't be in this lifetime. But there is no other Rich person that fascinates me so much. He really is just smart and eloquent.

But I don't think saying bad about Bill Gates is justified here given he's done so much to save so many people. His wealth is in terms of his stock and if you notce it is going down so he is by no means a scam artist.

4:05 Given my background, I would start an AI company, whose goal would be to teach computers how to read so that they can absorb and understand all the written knowledge of the world. That's an area where AI has yet to make progress and it will be quite profound we achieve that goal.

I assume its because IBM was lacking foresight on some of their work. Like many tech starts up they take time to drive from an innovative approach to get up. But as they move up the ladder let’s say from a 15 million dollar company to a Fortune 500 they would need to change management and oriented into thinking mainly about how generate more revanche and staying ahead. Afterwards another small company becomes vague and so it goes on.

I strongly agree with Bill gates initiative, promoting common core standards in schools. My sister is a second grade teacher in the Seattle area and I had the opportunity of seeing the material first hand, while helping her compile the packets for every student. I felt the program was very well structured, innovative and I believe would greatly help many teachers who do not put in the time to figure out the best items to focus on. It is imperative to place a standard for every teacher to achieve. My sister (Lisa) viewed it differently because she has taught for years and has adopted a system that worked in her classroom and for her adapting required a lot of time and effort. Nevertheless Lisa adapted and the children’s knowledge and testing that year showed significant improvement. Unfortunately, there are not many teachers, who are willing to put in the time required (common core) to teach those subject well. I appreciate the effort, donations, and leadership of the Gates foundation in trying to improve the educational system of the U.S.

How to success like Bill Gates? Should I stop university? No, firstly you must have a mom that are big in a big computer company like IBM....
Seem unreasonable? Then how about being that mom? continue your university, find a decent job, start to make connection with people while secretly invent your idea. when the time come, use that connection and ideas to start up. If you got no idea, invest in your children and pass your connection to his/her like Bill's mom.

I'd believe he is now, but I'm sure he was quite an asshole in the early years. I almost think its necessary for a CEO though. Guys like Gates and Bezos are some of the highest performing individuals in the world. Imagine trying to run a business where your employees are toddlers. You're bound to be pissed off occassionally. Now that hes basically retired, hes pretty relaxed. I find both modes very respectable and really appreciate the life hes chosen to live.
