Neil Postman - Technopoly: the surrender of culture to technology (1992)

Technopoly describes the development of a society in which technology is deified, meaning “the culture seeks its authorisation in technology, finds its satisfactions in technology, and takes its orders from technology”. It is characterised by a surplus of information generated by technology, which technological tools are in turn employed to cope with, in order to provide direction and purpose for society and individuals.

Deze man had een verbijsterend goed werkende (glazen) bol -- behalve met betrekking tot de fax en de kunst van het brieven schrijven dan.
Het voelt wel een beetje ironisch om dit via RUclips te bekijken, maar dat is toch zeer de moeite waard.

Dit was een visionair. Ik wil u trouwens bedanken voor de hoge kwaliteit inhoud die u publiceert. Ik geniet er erg van. Vooral de interviews met WF Hermans zijn geweldig. Heeft u nog meer Hermans in het verschiet voor de trouwe kijkers?
