I am constantly astounded not only by Stoppard's growth as a writer in balancing emotional vulnerability and complex scientific/metaphysical concepts, but his ability to take those qualities and perform the sort of alchemy that leaves his audience acutely aware of the leads and golds in their own lives.

Hannah Pentico Wow you must be awesome. "alchemy" okay fanciful indeed. You inspire to go back and read Jung's entry on Alchemy.

19:40 Ronald Dworkin ( not Richard ) for those of you like me that will get his book.
"Religion without God" . Tom is interpreting our world. It is the voice of a very huge brain. It is the sound of a western guru. He doesn't have answers but he is able to define the questions for us. Talk about time travel the mind of Tom is not contemporary but is profoundly human, ageless, Place Tom in any century he will have the same observations and questions for all.

Tom Stoppard is the drama equivalent of a GP : he knows a little about a lot of stuff. Therein lies the problem. He touches upon various issues ( albeit in
an entertaining way ) but the end result is rather superficial.
