  • Hold onto your boards, folks! Join us as we dive into the wildest swimsuit shoot gone wrong at Teahupoo. 2x World Longboard Champion Kelia Moniz faced the ultimate "I’m going to die right now!” moment when a routine photoshoot turned into a high-stakes survival challenge. Picture this: a leashless Kelia, logs free falling, and one of the most dangerous waves on the planet. It’s like trying to juggle chainsaws while riding a unicycle!
“I didn’t want people to think I thought I was some sort of big wave surfer trying to push the limits by surfing a single fin at Teahupo’o. It was a cool experience, but there’s no To Be Continued… after that one.
I never want to do that again.” - Kelia Moniz

That girl is just nutz for trying to paddle a longboard into that wave. I was also amazed that she and/or her board weren't broken after either of those two horrid wipeouts.
I remember watching Tony Moniz surfing in movies when I was a grom. The sport has really come a long way since then.

Yeah I’m not sure if JOB has ridden a big barrel on his forehand on a 9 foot soft top. I think he can only do what he does on his back hand as he can grab rail?

      Good point

I think the main thing is JOB has the weight to stomp that tail/rail and the board obeys. For this chick it looked like her board was ignoring her attempts to turn and get on rail. My wife struggles with a soft top getting it on rail and i have no issues despite her being a better surfer.

If she was surfing back side and could grab the rail maybe things would have been different

Or maybe if she was on an 8ft gun instead of a mal

She knows exactly what she is doing out there Ant. I guess she is just experimenting with her immense skills and pushing the limits to test her skills. she certainly knows what she is doing on that board Ant

Back in the day I saw a video of a pro Hawaiian longboarder dropping in to big Teahopu. His board spun out and he destroyed his knee!

I love your content, but reacting to random hellos and callouts every minute breaks the flow of explanations and is annoying af. I would advise to just filter to comments actually bringing something to the matter discussed, and keep the familiarities for the end. Love!

How i'm hearing the place pronounced on the olympics if it's the ine i'm thinking of, it's Teahupo'o (Tay-Uh-Hoo-Poh) pronounched fast to sound like tayuhoopo
