I was at 4/11... not a stellar show... Bobby ended up kicking his amp during Terrapin .. you can hear the short happening, but that Friend of the Devil, wow!.. what a venue though... the Fabulous Fox in Atlanta, Ga. This was my second show, the first being 5/18/77 the prior year. Thank you all who contributed to this live, living, breathing anthology of a magical time and a crazy good band. Oh to be there again.
We were at this show ! Had a great time…we were all sitting together except for one friend, there were no more seats in our row so we pulled a folding chair from the row in front of..a little while later an usher came with two people…they had tickets for that row…the usher kept looking at the tickets , then the chairs, then the tickets, …he couldn’t figure it out…it was a little obvious if he looked behind him but they never figured it out…our whole row saw what happened and everyone was laughing…when we saw the people on the stage playing pots and frying pans we wigged out…that nigh after the show we drove to Willam And Mary…that was an even better show ! One of my favorite tours.
Love the Podcast never miss an episode. Honest question, why must the criticism of Disco be labeled homophobic and racist? Much of the disco produced in the seventies is quietly resting in a landfill where it belongs. Some disco was awesome but much of it was truly awful.
This is ridiculous. The hatred of disco has nothing to do with homophobia or racism. I thought this was 1 place that I could go to getaway from this nonsense.
You are wrong my friend, this podcast is always interesting and always has a healthy helping of regime clown world narrative. Orange man VS DMV lady ? Good luck with that. Vote harder......
@@jerryakbar6147 I found the statement to be profoundly like almost shocking I've been a musician my entire life very very very very very very well versed in the musical opinions between disco and I guess rock at the time. I have never once heard a criticism of disco had anything to do with sexuality or race. It has always been that the music was bad and vapid. So I have no idea why that was put into the podcast unfortunately the person who brought it up is no longer with us and I don't want a bad mouth that person but I believe it was totally injected based on a reality that doesn't exist yes to sort of I guess score points or something with some section of the listenership.
What would the good old GD PC be without a healthy dose of protected class victimization, brow beating priceless. I was around for disco, we thought it sucked because it was synthetic music engineered by guys from Cantors trying to maximize the money they put up. Next soulless money grift, Rap. Garcia quote ( rap isn't music, it's metered talking)
"From the heart" says it all. Great work as usual!

This is straight up Jerry
idolization. We are going to pretend Phil Lesh wasn't as important as
Jerry? Anyone with real
ears knows the truth.
Jerry's Jerry bro. Silly statement. We all love Phil, but let's reign it in a bit
Phil sucked!
