We have been quiet
But we have been so busy
Lots going on at our passion project
Lots going on at the chateau
But most importantly, we got called by the local auction house as they have an amazing piece !
Something they have never seen before , along with lots of antiques
There will be 2 auction sales one on the 27th of May and one on the 11th of June
The passion project renovation / the chateau upkeeping take a much needed break for a few hours and so do we .

Line Vautrin’s story reminded me a bit of Eileen Gray, who came about a generation or so before her, so I was really happy to see that Eileen Gray lamp in the same sale! She is definitely an underrated designer and a very important unsung architect.
I wonder if you two might enjoy seeing her home E-1027, which is rounding the end of it’s long restoration project. I’ve actually suggested it as a topic to Stephanie Jarvis in the past for a video as well. I had to research her for a class project (furniture design class) and I was so inspired by her life and work, and the work that has happened recently to save that house! It’s definitely on my list to visit one day when I make it to France!

I enjoyed the story behind the mirror. The painted ceramics for the auction are beautiful. I love the trunk with drawers! The 1780 drop leaf desk is gorgeous! There are so many beautiful things in the store!! The video was a lot of fun! Love from Vermont

Super vlog. thanks so much. I believe the mirror is convex which is shaped outwards like a soccer ball. I had never heard of Line Vautrin or Eileen Gray and will look them both up.

Nice mirror. Galerie Chastel-Maréchal in Saint-Germain-des-Près, Paris always has some good Line Vautrin pieces for sale. You can see them on the gallery's website, but you can't see prices. I could not afford any of her actual works when I was there in 2009, but I bought a book about her mirrors (published by the gallery) which is itself now out of print and very collectible.
