I was there from Dec. 1951 to Nov. 1953 I never got to Naha stayed pretty close to Karen's A.F.B. ww2 was over Korean war was on. The people were very friendly but the town's were still primitive. Damaged landing craft still on some beaches, industrious people , some restaurants mostly for burgers or steak. A lot of improvements in 70 years. God Bless them.
Wow! I only know recent Okinawa and can't easily imagine how it looked like back then. Just the thought of the damaged craft on a beach in Okinawa is really something! Anyway thank you so much for watching my video!
Thank you so much! I like the ambient sounds too especially when it rains so I hope you like this one too. ruclips.net/video/wEKf4vbnhU4/видео.html It's binaural recorded so make sure to put on your earphones! 😄
Great video 😀. I have been to Okinawa in 2016 and it was an amazing experience. The people are so nice and the food is very great. Thanks for sharing 😀
It’s good that you enjoyed Okinawa. When I shot this video there were not many people on the street but I guess there must have been a lot of people when you went there. I hope COVID-19 is over soon. Thank you so much for watching! 😁
@@VSV_Japan Yes there were a lot of people then. I recorded my trip in 2016 and at the beginning of this video we crossed Kokusai-dori and went to the market. As you can see it was quite bussy. ruclips.net/video/z-11jthw1aE/видео.html I also hope COVID-19 is over soon so we can travel again.
Oh I'm sorry your second comment was automatically placed in my "held for review" folder and I didn't notice it until now! So sorry. But I watched your video and I'm glad you seemed to enjoy your trip Kokusai-dori looked much more lively and I really miss the good old days...
Miss the salt ice-cream on this street and really surprised to see 7-11s in the video. When I came here in 2017, I was confused why there were so many Lawsons & Family-Marts but no 7-11.
Wow you know so much! 7-11 opened on July 11th (7/11) last year... Back then it became a news and 200 people lined up. When I took a taxi, the driver was happily saying "Now we have 7-11 here too!" 😄
Good afternoon! I am Kwok from the University of Hong Kong. We are currently working on a video project on militarism in Okinawa. Your videos are amazing! Could we please use some of your footages to show the general street view of Okinawa in our video? The total length of footages used will not exceed one minute and your channel will be credited in our project (if you wish so). Thank you!
Apologies for my slow reply. If it’s only a minute or so, yes, it’s OK to use my video. I’d appreciate it if you could add a credit to my channel. Thank you.
Okinawa is like Hawaii which is heavily dependent on tourism. The last time I went there a few years ago, I had a hard time walking through crowd on Kokusai-dori Ave. I was simple unable to imagine back then it would look like what it was in this video.

Obviously not Karen's A.F.B. You tube won't let me correct it.

Great! Good for a change. Enjoy your trip fully! 😃 Thank you for sharing your experiences. ✌️
Thank you again for watching! 😄
Everywhere it seems to be returning to normal, slowly ... except here. Nice walk!
Okinawa is heavily depending on tourism. It was my first time to be able to walk on Kokusai-dori Ave. straight without bumping into anybody!

Except here ... I wanted to say here in Argentina because we return to phase 1 until July 17 : (

nice video, I miss Naha city
I'm glad you liked this video. Thank you so much for watching! 😄
That's such a bright idea! Okinawa, we hear about it so much but never see anything. Business trip?
No, I went there for sightseeing because the airplane ticket was only ¥8,000 round trip! 😄
@@VSV_Japan Wow your so lucky what Airline at where did you book your ticket

Did you go to Okinawa? Good for you. Did you sleep for a day?
I went there last week for 3 days. Did I sleep for a day? What do you mean?
Video Street View Japan I'm sorry I'm not good at English.I asked it was a two-day or one-day trip.
Will you go to the beaches?
Yes, I'll be uploading today! 😄
@@VSV_Japan I see you surfing giant wave and recording at the same time.
I was in Okinawa for 2days in 2015 on business don't remember much...but Never seen Snakes for sale ugh....lol
That was a traditional snake sake. I don't drink alcohol so I'm not sure if it tastes good but it's very famous.
@@VSV_Japan snake sake interesting,thanks

Come to think about it...it all seems empty..?
So sad to see empty street , no more people ...
This video was shot almost 2 years ago. I believe people are back in Okinawa by now. Thank you so much for watching! 😄
Wow totally dead compared to when I was there in 1988
Thank you so much for watching! 😄 I think it's alive already by now.
