I'm am always so impressed by how clean and crisp that guitar sound is. You can hear every pick.
@@chopholtz4950 yes, it's drop D everytime and joe uses little gain and puts the mids forward in the mix.
in return, it's a difficult sound to play because you have to be very precise and the slightest error can be heard, except that it never de hahaha
@@chopholtz4950 And they crank the gain to stupid levels. So many bands sound awful live playing their Peavey's cranked above 8.
He asked for low output pickups in his Ormsby, tunes to drop D and has a very mid heavy mix going on. I'd love to know what he uses as a boost though, it's so tight but extremely full sounding as well.
It is because of low gain and all other aspects already commented here
Yoda level Guitar playing helps.
Joe Haley, one of the top metal guitarist all time. Sound, technique, ideas.. simply phenomenal!
Honestly only guitar players and true metal heads will see this. In my humble opinion Joe Haley is the modern day dime bag but he'll never get the credit he deserves because Death Metal isn't as palletable/mainstream as Pantera's music.
i know psycroptic since 2006. and yess joe is a genius with his unique style & riffs. even he never changes & pretty consistent with what he's doing.
@@Wrathofkala just needs to play more solos
@@Wrathofkala Always thought that too. I think where Dime might have had the edge is in the soloing. Not only did Dime have incredible rhythmic ideas and execution (like Haley), but those rhythms sat right alongside very memorable melodies that were incorporated into his solos.
his brother's not too shabby behind the kit either 😉
The reason i love Psycroptic is, that they consistently deliver a contrast to all the "modern" metal which oftentimes is overloaded with Synths, soundgimmicks, digital orchestra and 8-String Guitars. It`s just clean production and talent.
holy shit, that drummer!! having to go all the way through the song with 16th over 200 bpm bass drumming is beastly
Welcome to Mr Dave Haley 🤘🏻
and indescribably tiring for the listener
2:29 feels like getting your head yanked back for a quick breath of air before getting dunked into molten lava again
i'm a music video director (among other things) and i've always cited 'intiate' as one of my favourite ever videos in terms of tone & atmosphere. hats well and truly off to michael rankine & tom roach here as they've really managed to nail the mood of atmosphere of psycroptic's music in such a way that is also really clear and a joy to watch. well bloody done, those lads.
Simple and too the point, a staple of what all metal videos should try and do for videos.
These guys have such an original sound. Nobody can tell them they ripped off another band, and every song they put out is so undeniably Psycroptic.
not critique, but this song kinda sounds like newer Decapitated, except for that one riff
Cryptopsy springs to mind
@@maaaaaap exactly what I thought of....its the crunchy guitar goodness
Sounded like blood has been shed Howard Jones (not KSE)
@@maaaaaap 100% Decapitated
Easily the best band ever to come out of Australia
aren't you forgetting NeObliviscaris
@@411paths violins in metal, nah
@@411paths looool
@@411paths They are solid, but Psycroptic is better
@@symptomofsouls for fuckin sure
These guys rock! I just saw them last night. Was totally blowed away by the double bass drums, guitar riffs and insane vocals! I met the singer and he is a very cool dude. This band is on my playlist now. Well done Australia! Send us some more great bands. 🤘🐨
Man i discovered this band when they released As The Kingdom Drowns. I was too late, but since then they're one of my all time faves. Haley brothers are phenomenal
Better late than never bud!! Enjoy diving into their fantastic discography...all the way to back to the great album "The Scepter of the Ancients"! Incredible band since the beginning. Cheers!
@@bystolics yes man everything they've ever released, from their early old school sound till divine council, they're all bangers.
Wow. Absolute legends of the tech death scene. The riffs are monstrous! So good to have these guys back!
They never went away
Heard this today and went back and listened to Scepter of the Ancients. Oh, how I've missed this band.
SotA is top tier.
The stuff they've been putting out the last 10 years all sounds the same, it's really predictable and straight forward compared to sceptre and even symbols
@@dragster9070 really disagree. Isle of disenchantment was just like every other death metal album out at the time. Sceptre was good but I found symbols of failure better, but it was much the same "death metal" sound. Observant is where they changed for the better in my opinion. They honed their sound. Wasn't too keen on inherited but my fav album is the self titled. That album is fucking crazy good.
Damn this goes really hard! It kinda fills the gaping hole that was left in me when Necrophagist disbanded. Sounds killer.
Did not except to find you here xD Love the parodies btw
Dave has to be one of the fastest metal drummers on the planet 🥁🤘🤘🤘
The thing I find so unique about them Is Jason’s growls are very raw and posted off. It’s almost like if a Hardcore singer was in a death metal band.
I love Jason's vocals. Really brings a unique vibe.
I'll never get tired of Psycroptic. Another banger to the list!
LOVE THIS BAND 🔥👊
Haley always with his signature work is insane but this song... almost 100% double bass non stooooop?! Jesus!
dude is that even posible? i refuse to believe he can actually pull this off
@@NoisieBastrdd oooooooh he can! After 1min i taught.. hmm double didnt stop, let's see.. AND variation and accent make everything dynamic for the song imo..
@@NoisieBastrdd I've seen them probably over 20 times and he definitely can pull it off lol. They're so tight live it's ridiculous
The Haley's are ****ing brilliant! Daaaaaam!
Australia's metal kings.
Except its not metal. Don't insult the blokes.
What is it then?🤔Sounds like Metal to me...
@@quinetastic it's bluegrass, duh
CURRENT MOOD: PSYCROPTIC
2:28, I'm going to hurt my neck trying to windmill when I hear this part live
I caused permanent damage to my neck windmilling to them back in about 2003 or 2004 😂 one of the best gigs ever
Like a glove. Relentless.
🗽🌏Our music will Definitely have a Place in the Music industry fam🔥‼️‼️
Best Australian Band Ever
4 min straight of pure double bass? is that even humanly possible? i need a live playththrough
Listen to impiety
With Dave it is!
Holy fuck new Psycroptic!
The kings are back baby! SUCH BEEFY RIFFS!
The Haley brothers were blessed by the metal gods when they were born!
Metal Rules🤘🏻
bridge riffs are so damn stoking. awesome track !
Such a killer track. The best technical death metal band in the world 🤘
Just ordered my Divine Council T-shirt and CD bundle, very impressive and the best sound you have had :)
Good to hear the growls making their way back properly.
The clean harmonised female vox on As The Kingdom Drowns ruined that album
The video hasn't started yet but I immediately hit the like button
Legends of death metal! Absolute wall of death from Dave and Joe.
Ride Bell goes DING... Very sexy on the downbeat for example at 01:01
I love their last album and judging by this track we'll be in for another aural drubbing! Love the burly riffs and the vocals sound great too.
I love it when they give me aural pleasure!
@@metalgt6828 👍🤣🤣
Wrong aural Brubbing
@@metalgt6828 aaaahhh yes- the good ol' eargasm
I see Jason went back to his old singing style. I HOPE THAT DOESN'T MEAN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO START BITCHING AND MOANING!!!
Jason's not on this track, right? Or where are his vocals to be found?
@@cyrollan I read they recruited Origin's singer for the whole record.
@@P3t3rminator i saw that on metalsucks, but this doesn't look nor sound like Keyser. i'm so confused. but also MS isn't exactly a respected metal blog
"Origin vocalist Jason Keyser has long been considered a part of Psycroptic's extended family, and on Divine Council, he contributes vocals to the album tracks. As Peppiatt wrote the lyrics and vocal patterns, the group were able to utilize an extended palette of styles to further enhance his sound, courtesy of Keyser and additional vocals from Amy Wiles, hitting upon a collective approach to complement the Haleys." - Lambgoat
Jason Peppiatt is the name of their singer...
.................... and there still kicking ass when ever they want🤘😎☠️
Waiting for someone to spit out a drum cover…..anyone game enough haha 🥁
these blokes make me proud to be a tassie boy
Never dissapoints!
These guys are madmen. So groovy. So many riffs. I hope to catch them live some day soon.
I can't wait for this release!
Hype! I love the constant fast drums and the guitar plucking.
Holy shit! I needed this today!
Dare I say Psycroptic has the only guitar player on planet earth that couldn't be replaced. No one can play like he can in a live setting. Impossible....
It’s so recognizable. You know it’s Psycroptic just from the guitar
The boys are back. The geet sound and vocals are so distinctive, you KNOW EXACTLY who's playing. 🔥🔥🔥
Getting "Decapitated - Day 69" vibes from this, the Haley's, Aus answer to Vogg and Vitek! 🤘🏻
Yep
I canNOT wait for this new album (also, kudos to the pr person who managed to include "fettle" in the description).
Indeed
still my favorite band! since day one boys!
Already one of THE tunes of the year 👌
Sounds killer, album must be a bomb haha can't wait
I know everyone likes the original psycroptic albums, but does it feel like they get better every new album to anyone? to even think that was possible with this band.
This song is perfect 🤘
Shout out to Matt Clark and his family Matt was the original vocalist for first 2 album's and there best work to me. but all work out in the end VB time
My face just melted.
Awesome!!
Just pre ordered the cd and tshirt bundle!
Hi.. Who’s engineering this song? Guitar’s sound so clean
when I grow up I want to become Joe Hayleys picking hand.
Try not to bang your head on that!🤘
Fire!
This is all that has to be said \mm/
Beautiful & Brutal
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Straya.👍🏻
Awesome those Haley riffs are one of a kind
Awesome, like always!
Ill do whatever it takes to get you guys a show in Mexico City
KINGS
Damn this song is tight and crisp af.. that drumming too sheesh

Excellent....
That reminds me to recent Decapitated stuff (last 3 albums more exactly).
Cool vibe 🔥 😍 Nice track 💯🚀
Brutal as hell
EXELENTE COMO SIEMPRE - SALUDOS DESDE ECUADOR
Ripping riffage! So sick.

Намана-намана \m/

The Bends Metal Sickness ☀
Been waiting for this 🔥🔥
i very much likey
Holy HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL
The beginning of this song reminds me the drummer (r.i.p.) from Decapitated.
Ohhhh shit new Psycroptic! 🤘
Jeebus! Dave must got titanium legs, badass!
Fucking hell, this is good ol´Psycroptic.
Lol not really, scepter is way better. Sadly they'll never return to that sound, stuck on this chugga chugga type stuff
Psycroptic is Fuckin killer as Always🤘
Such tight tone. This shit rips!
those riffs are insane holy shit!
Fucking amazing man, this was phenomenal. So hyped for the new album, literally can't wait.
It'll sound just like the last 2 or 3 they've made lol
@@dragster9070 you make it sound like it's a bad thing 😅
This whole album was a nice surprise I wasn't digging the sound at first but then I gave it another listen and I know why I didn't like it. It was too different I heard cold and thought man this ain't heavy enough.. Holy shit was I wrong. Heard this album and my mind was blown by the time I got to Enslavement. Just heard Cold again and what a banger. Now that I can appreciate the unique sound it stands out from other bands I've heard
i saw you guys yesterday in Essen! Super Sick!
Adoro questo gruppo \m/
This fucking SLAPS. AHHHHHH
