I did want to say this bc you are off on a few things, I just want to point it out for in case you decide to make a follow up video, in the final episode of the Batman episode 13 of season 5, robin confirms he is in middle school right before they take out the joining, he says “if that’s a shortcut to total knowledge, I’ll stick to middle school” in response to green arrow about Hugo strange. so that would confirm that he’s in the age group of 11-13 bc he’s in middle school. I’m sure it doesn’t make a big difference tho. Another thing is that in both future episodes, it’s covered in snow, that can easily mean that freeze was not defeated yet in the future in the teen titans episode & it can still connect, another thing is Scarface in the Batman has no correlation to teen titans Scarface, teen titans Scarface was made by brushugun, that confirms they are two different characters. So the only thing that can make it not in the same universe is killer moth, killer moth shows up in one episode & one episode alone in the Batman and that is season 4 episode 2. You can easily say that between the Batman & teen titans, he evolved as a villain. From robin middle school days to his late teens, a few years in between so that can give killer moth plenty of time to have evolved as a villain & he clearly would of had his daughter before he became killer moth. And in the first episode killer moth shows up in teen titans, robin clearly knows him, he knows who he is right off the bat, only thing he was surprised about was finding out he had a daughter but he knows who killer moth is, so now that I’ve cleared everything up, it’s safe to say that the shows take place in the same universe.
You haven't reached a dead end just yet. In The Batman (2004), Killer Moth is constantly trying to find a way to revert himself into a more human-like form. There's a small possibility where he could have succeeded resulting in his appearance in Teen Titans.
Where are you getting this from? Killer Moth only appeared twice and he never tried to cure himself. Even in his appearance in The Batman Strikes, he was just robbing a bank.
Killer motg in teen titans is very robotic looking. Maybe you could head canon that he build himself into a cyborg in order to get back to some sort of humanoid form
You know what's funny about this theory. Robin only started appearing on The Batman, cause Teen Titans ended so they wouldn't be two Robins airing at the same time.
So, if Teen Titans and The Batman were in the same universe, and Robin joined The Batman after Teen Titans ended, shouldn't that mean Robin was the leader of the Titans before he became Batman's sidekick?
@@theinsp3ctor368 Teen Titans and The Batman were different universes. One didn't come after another. Robin appeared in The Batman after Teen Titans ended because Warner Bros didn't want to confuse people with two different Robins. Teen Titans wasn't set in the future like Batman Beyond, and The Batman was never marketed as a prequel to Teen Titans. So their placement on the timeline should be when they were released, and if so, the Batman references don't make sense in Teen Titans. And even if you say The Batman was a prequel to Teen Titans, not only is Killer Moth completely different between the two shows, but Robin didn't seem to know Killer Moth in Teen Titans.
there might be a chance that inbetween The Batman and Teen Titans, Killer Moth tried to make an antidote or a genetic altering device that would make him closer to being human.
5:33 about the Scarface point, it’s worth noting that the Scarface of Gotham city and the Scarface of Tokyo are completely different characters. The scarface from teen titans trouble in Tokyo what is a fictional character brought to life by dark magic. So you could very easily head canon that this is an artistic reinterpretation of the actual Scarface. Alternatively you could just say that they happen to have the same name, since let’s be honest Scarface isn’t that unique of a villain name.
Very interesting, coming from someone who’s known 1 Rottweiler and 1 American bully both named Scarface from 2 different places at diff points in life 😂😂 Anyways, yeah 100% makes sense
Killer Moth's appearance changing is exactly what happened in the comics. He knew he was lame, so he made a deal with the devil to be made into a moth monster during the Underworld Unleashed event in the comics. Maybe in this insatnce he made a deal to be less monstrous, hence his Teen Titans design.
I did miss this! I meant to put it in but when I was writing the script it slipped my mind. I was also trying to look at just the TV shows however, but you are right!
This was actually something I was going to look into but completely forgot about it when writing the script. I will actually look into it more, cus I definitely think it's a solid piece of evidence lol
Actually, Scarface, being as a ghost does make a little bit of sense, because you could say that spirit was possessing the doll and then was released but the characters recognize that in teen titans.
It’s noteworthy that in both episodes that deal with the distant future the city is left in a almost apocalyptic winter as both episodes borrow some elements from the comic “the dark Knight returns“ (The Batman episode is far more obvious in that, but the teen titans episode features a cameo from the mutants) I would definitely consider the connections between teen titans and the Batman to be “fanon“. There’s nothing that straight up confirms they share a universe, but you could very easily fit them together and there wouldn’t be much, if any, contradictions. Edit: In the episode killer moth appears in the Batman he ends up getting mutated into a black and white monster. Although he looks notably different than the version seen in teen titans he borrows a lot of the same design elements. It’s not a perfect fit, but you can very easily work around the killer moth issue. Like I said, even if there’s nothing definitive putting these two shows together, most issues with them being said in the same universe could very easily be worked around so I see no real reason why they can’t share a universe
1. Scarface has always been a form of spirit making their host do what they want so maybe the scarface in teen titans is just the spirit that escaped 2. Moth man can mutate once and slowly become more muscly and defined as their body is already maluable
i think these two fit better than Teen Titans being in the DCAU but at the end of the day they were all developed as unconnected shows and unfortunately thats what they will always be but at least we have head canon so if it makes enough sense in your mind for them to be connected, why not? they can all sorta fit together. its not like saying Spectacular Spider-Man takes places in the same universe as the 60s show or something like that
There are plenty of characters between Batman TAS and the rest of DCAU where they look/act completely different despite the shows obviously being set in the same universe.
While not fitting perfectly, this is definitely my head canon. If we squint enough, both can fit. No harm in both being in the same universe or not. Besides two of my favorite shows growing up taking place in the same world? Heck yeah!
Well to be fair characters having different designs doesn't really mean much because batman the animated series and the new batman adventures are confirmed to be cannon to eachother yet almost batmans entire rogues gallery have completely different designs with some of the biggest differences being catwoman and scarecrow so if those to shows are cannon to eachother i think one minor villian having a different design is not an issue.
I completely agree. I don’t think the shows were ever intended to be canon to each other. However, I know some people have fun thinking that way, so I’m not that worried about it.
Didn’t teen titans killer moth make his own mutant moths? Maybe he tried to fix himself after being mutated and that’s how he got his more humanoid design. He is the source of fan favourite character Silkie
Although I really like this idea, the way he is in Teen Titans would make it seem more like a regression due to his human-like behavior and body. I do think this is a great concept
In regards to Killer Moth's mutation, it is possible that he continued to mutate throughout his existence. Either the continued mutation was a natural progression to being exposed to the chemicals or the initial mutated Moth sought a way to limit his mutation to have the best of both worlds. We do see many times that Killer Moth is very skilled in genetic manipulation, I mean, look at the amount of the larva he makes that later themselves mutate. Assuming that those larva are genetic creations and not aliens or something, then I'd find it reasonable that Killer Moth could find a way to limit his own mutation later down the line when he appears in Teen Titans.
Grayson Robin at 'roughly 14' is new to me; almost every story I've looked at is 8~12. But 12's not far off from 14, so'z it's fine I guess. Also the Scarfaces are actually just two different characters with the same name. DC actually has diff villains (and heroes) with the same name. The Scarface from the TT movie is a drawing brought to life. Someone else in the comments probs mentioned this too. Also, for this same reason (diff char, same name), Killer Moth doesn't have to be a dead end.
Well if Teen Titans Robin is older than The Batman’s Robin is older Killer Mouth could’ve just mutated again, both shows also were on both Kids Wb and Cartoon Network and there is an issue of the comic that goes with the Teen Titans cartoon that shows Batman very similar to his The Batman design from when Robin shows up
if I’m not mistaken a few different people have had the Killer Moth mantle so it’s not far fetched to believe they’re different people after all likely? maybe not but possible? definitely
If we've learned anything about connecting things from the DCAU, it's that characters are gonna look different from each show. For example, The Penguin. In BTAS he looks more like Batman Returns Penguin and in TNBA he looks more comic accurate. So you haven't reached a dead end when you say Killer Moth is completely different because frankly if these shows were to connect then the point I made above would just carry on over.
Hey man, I hit the same exact dead end researching the connection between the evil kid vigilante Skorn and if he becomes Red X, good to know I wasn’t the only person to see that it wouldn’t work.

Probably not canon but there’s a short tv spot where the Titans crossover with The Batman and his batcave and him and the titans Robin have a very brief dialogue exchange
To be fair, you could make the excuse with killer moth that much like in the Iron Man films were they recast Terrence Howard for Don Cheadle and it’s still supposed to be the same guy maybe that’s the same excuse for this if we look at it like that.

One point I would like to add: Both Robins behave oh so differently, and if TT's Robin is anything like Batman, it would mean '04's Batman is not TT's Batman. '04's Batman is a Kind Hearted Batman, being more reserved and Quiet in Earlier Seasons. I mean the episode Artifacts shows that Barbara ends up in a wheelchair like the comics. If the event that caused that to happen is even half as bad as what happened in the comics that could’ve changed him in addition to just aging.
@@laurenstanciel1247 If it's anything like the comics, then even if it changed him, the trajectory is still different from TT03's Robin. Considering Barbara became wheelchair bound as an Adult.
What if Killer Moth mutates in The Batman (2004) but in between 2004 and Teen Titans he is figuring out his cute (as a previous comment suggested) but ends up failing turning his current mutant moth form more humanoid. In short between both shows killer moth had somehow made himself more humanoid using a chemical component and as he mutates the colours shifted also.
At first, I thought the animation looked similar but they are slightly different. I remember there was a commercial that had some of the two shows dvds beside each other. I wish they were connected but it was fun thinking it was the same robin😅.
They should do a DtV movie (since they make them annually anyway) bridging the gap between the two shows, with Robin leaving Batman to found the Titans and The Batman Killer Moth turning into Teen Titans Killer Moth.
The Batman series and Teen Titans are both from the DC Comics universe. There was also a scene from the Teen Titans episode “Haunted” with a brief flashback showing Robin’s parents being murdered by Tony Zucco.
I always thought of it as teen Titans takes place in an almost identical universe, just like 12 centimeters to the left, to explain the slight changes lol
In fact, Teen Titans is not set in the same universe as The Batman. When Robin becomes Slade's apprentice, Robin says "I already have a father" with bats flying overhead to a soundtrack, similar to the Batman Animated Series. In a Teen Titans comic, we see the look of the Justice League and it is the same look used in Justice League Unlimited. in new teen titnas shorts, in the halloween episode, we saw the cyborg wear a costume that is the same as the justice league unlimited satellite, in the episode "red x unmasked" Batman and Alfred appear with the look from the animated series. In the Trigon arc, the titans fight against Slade and the demons, outside the tower, while Raven is in a room that darkens and lights up red, which is a clear reference to the Batmobile from the Batman of the Future cartoon.
Literally no one is talking about how Justice League Unlimited cameoed in the Teen Titans tie in comics... Instead the all just gaslight each other Batman in it is from The Batman even though the designs don't match. The Batman distinctly has claws on his gloves.
Wait!×5 i got an idea... Have it ever clicked to anyone that in certain teen Titans episodes that the theme song plays in Japanese are more comedic episodes and are not meant to take serious(now those are cannon for sure). So when we're comparing teen Titans to the Batman we can only compare the teen Titans episodes that are played in English. so some comparisons and conflicts you made to teen Titans and the Batman can't be fair unless teen titans episodes have the english theme. those are more serious and may correlate.
But then again did Robin actually know who killer moth was back then if he saw him in Teen Titans he would have been like a killer moth it's you but he doesn't recognize him at all...and he forgot to mention in the video the Teen Titans comic book where Robin and Starfire are kissing and Batman watches them with the same design from the Batman 2004
Characters can have different designs and still be the same character. Just look at all the characters from TNBA, BTAS, STAS, and JL/JLU. All different designs for the same characters in a relatively close time period.
The puppet looking different could be explained away with the “different lens” explanation the DCAU uses. Killer Moth being a different guy works for me I don’t think it’s stupid lol. In the source material he’s been different people. In the tie in comic we see Batman of the Teen Titans universe and he looks like The Batman 2004.
You might be correct in thinking the two shows are in the same universe and perhaps they are in the same universe but in a separate timeline of that universe or simply a style change decision like in Batman TAS and Batman TNA series being the same continuity but definitely styled. The creators of Batman TAS & TNA explained the differences in costumes, villains and other characters are still in the same continuity. Many youtubers tried to debunk it but came to the conclusion that Bruce Timm wasn't joking. The differences between the Joker's appearances really caught me off gaurd but finding out they are in the same continuity was wild. Hope this helps.
I never knew TNBA and BTAS were the same until way later. I found out around the time of Arkham City I was in middle school. Sort of sad to think that Bruce went from a guy that trusted others and was good to his family to what we see in TNBA. His arc was the opposite of Arkham Batman.
I don't like how they changed barbras age to younger she was older in the comics old enough to be a full grown adult when Robin(Dick grayson was little)
I heard they didn't introduce Robin first on The batman because he's on Teen Titans. Is probably trure which is stupid those two shows are completely different and they both have different voice actors for Robin.
What was the joke with LEGO Star Wars II? That Teen Titans ended the same year LEGO Star Wars II was released? That's not funny. LEGO Star Wars II was released in September. And 2006 also happened to be the year Sonic 06 came out, the Playstation 3 came out that year, and I can look up a list of things that happened in 2006. So what?

In short between both shows killer moth had somehow made himself more humanoid using a chemical component and as he mutates the colours shifted also.
At first, I thought the animation looked similar but they are slightly different. I remember there was a commercial that had some of the two shows dvds beside each other. I wish they were connected but it was fun thinking it was the same robin😅.
Awesome vid remember me when u get famous
🫡
5:45 THAT THING HAS A NAME?! I didn’t think any of those ink guys had names, I just assumed only Saico-tek had one. 😅
Can't remember which one but there's one episode that shows their origin. You won't hear the name batman but you'll know when you watch it.
What if the one on TT is a more progressed form of the mutated form resulting in a more humanoid appearance
They should do a DtV movie (since they make them annually anyway) bridging the gap between the two shows, with Robin leaving Batman to found the Titans and The Batman Killer Moth turning into Teen Titans Killer Moth.
Wow great video I always theorised these two Robin's were the same
Strange how no one in the comments mentions
the batman in static shock addresses the teen titans when Virgil asks where robin is?
1. different Robin and different universe
2. they jumped the shark with that since they didn’t know for sure if TT would be in the DCAU at that time
Maybe these are the same Earth but different timelines, one is Flashpoint or the Post-Flashpoint timeline and the other is Pre-Flashpoint timeline
they have both different killer moth in the comics so i guess that the same in the show
This dude looks like Benjamin Ingrosso, ”a swedish singer”
Actually the watchtower database is gonna do a video on this subject when they hit 200 patterns
I know, I'm really excited to see what they have to say about it too
I’m confused, what year did The Batman (2004) come out? I must’ve missed it in the video
Bruh, that got me ngl
You could just look the other way at killer moth
Y’all seen teen titans vs. teen titans go right?
Flash and Green arrow who are in the batman cartoon may have a connection to the titans cartoon too.
Killer moth got mutated again info his teen titans form
Boom
I'm not even going to watch this video but the thumbnail tried to compare Tim Drake Robin to Dick Grayson Robin and that is clickbait.
I think it’s more that Killer-Moth is an idiot in the Batman, and not in Teen Titans.
I don't like how they changed barbras age to younger she was older in the comics old enough to be a full grown adult when Robin(Dick grayson was little)
I think it was because WB wouldn’t let them use Robin and they needed a kid sidekick.
I was about to say I though, I heard this question somewhere else
Kids WB has kinda hinted that for one commercial
Head Canon: Killer Moth could've mutated further. And in the case of scarface, it could be a of "slappy" from goosebumps.
You do know that the reason why batgirl became a sidekick first is because dc didn't want people thinking they were the same robin, right?
3:36 Only 4 year's from now
Style of Ben 10 looks like at style of this Batman version
Teen Titans takes place during pre - early Batman T.A.S., period.
How? if Batman The animated series takes place in the 90s. When robin is already an adult in college, but teen titans takes place in the 2000s
@@marlo176 Dick is a young boy when Bruce adopted him. That would count as shortly before PRE- Batman T.a.s.
this been my headcanon since i was a kid lol. aint noone gon tell me otherwise
Is Static Shock canon to the Batman cartoon? They both talk about the Teen Titans in an episode.
Static is cannon to Batman the animated series and Justice league
I think that Robin in Teen Titans Go is Jason Todd, but I know a lot of people do not enjoy that show.
He actually mutates in the ep he appears
2nd mutation or something maybe
I heard they didn't introduce Robin first on The batman because he's on Teen Titans. Is probably trure which is stupid those two shows are completely different and they both have different voice actors for Robin.
Good theory
Robin in teen titans has to be like 18 or 19 since that was the age that dick left bruce and went out on his own
I like this channel
Perfect 👌
1:52 oh boy, Lego Star Wars two got the joke
What was the joke with LEGO Star Wars II? That Teen Titans ended the same year LEGO Star Wars II was released? That's not funny. LEGO Star Wars II was released in September. And 2006 also happened to be the year Sonic 06 came out, the Playstation 3 came out that year, and I can look up a list of things that happened in 2006. So what?
Lego Star Wars 2 came out 9/11
@@AngelaMJury Oh. And The Batman started on 9/11 too. Got it.
