I don't it could ever be said that "everybody else" is wearing a CCP piece. While I'm fairly knowledgeable of his popular items, I have literally never seen one in real life, and I highly doubt even a single one of my friends or family has even heard of him. We need to stop conflating our fashion bubble with reality, CCP is still incredibly obscure.
Hi ik im late, but i think it’s more about despite how niche it is following the trends in ur extremely niche community is still the same as like liking what everybody else likes. It is more about not having ur own genuine opinion, taste, and interests than Like literally being like everybody else. It’s more of like in relation to ur small community “everybody else” rather than the entire population as a whole.
My favourite ramble with you was about CCP and everything surrounding it, super excited to get more rambling from you about the topic and this legendary artist.
Very interesting discussion. IMO you guys should definitely do more of these on other designers, brands, artists or any other aspects of contemporary culture that spark your imagination. Well done !
I totally agree. Its the seamless conversation. Knowing when to stop talking to allow the other to share their opinion. Quite a natural skill you both exhibiting. The chemistry is refreshing. I came back today to rewatch this. Knowledgeable but quite bias. Nonetheless please do more
Recently discovered your channel, and now I've been watching all these long format videos routinely! Old video yes, but hope this comment is still relevant somehow!
Damn 1 1/2 Stunden.
Damm you nailed it about being part of a global performance... it doesn't enhance your physical performance, but it enhance our visual performance, just like woman clothing. Carol's item gives the wearer a different status, Karlo Steele, mentioned that in the podcast
great dialogue between you two. i think a great way to dive more into the impact of CCP is to directly discuss the brands influenced by him & how their philosophy or quality compares to his. i think there’s a lot of gray area to clear up when it comes to who influenced who since CCP, one of the originators of artisanal garments started around the same time Carpe Diem did, if i remember correctly
Really enjoyed this interview, as a new kid, when I entered the circle, I was also thinking, if according to the designer carol himself, I should not post anything, but then thought, but also through the Internet to meet more of the same, if I was in a more niche country when I was torn by this problem until now, troubled me for a long time)))
It would be pretty interesting to hear your thoughts about ccp retail prices and their manufacturing costs/prices, now that you work with Leather and textiles yourself. Like how long time it takes to produce the garments and so on.
You are wrong on the take about high heels. In woman’s fashion (and men’s) a heel is there to accentuate the wearers height or statue. If anything it draws a partial lineage between fashions function or it’s aesthetic with how carols functions as carols mostly are just for the restriction and a statement. When it is like this it only really exists in that sense. Whereas the high heel does both. It restricts your movement but also functions to add to your figure dimensions. Other than that really enjoyed the video more of these soon
I always thought ccp was cool, before i knew what it is or the brand or w/e. I had a summer job some summers ago and my boss was mostly covered with ma+, ccp, etc.. I was excited to see such pieces from upclose, but while feeling the materials i felt like those clothes are really uncomfortable. I remember a pair of pants that had a weird almost thick plastic feeling kind of seam going on and i was like man! if i'll wear that it will cut me in half :P This plus the fact that its a really expensive brand kept me off - atleast for now. I appreciate all the little, interesting details and excellent craftmanship though. Also i dont think i care about gatekeeping. Tbh i would love to see people around me covered in crazy clothes, the same way that i would love it if my favorite music was playing everywhere, hah.

Thanks mannn! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Damm you nailed it about being part of a global performance... it doesn't enhance your physical performance, but it enhance our visual performance, just like woman clothing. Carol's item gives the wearer a different status, Karlo Steele, mentioned that in the podcast

I think its fairly easy to see who is riding ccps coat tails and who's not
Could be a cool topic! Thanks man
If it weren’t for the price tag I would have draped myself in CCP over ten years ago. I still cannot justify it, working class and all.

Satisfy conversation next haha!!
Haha cool idea
Omg. Take a drink whenever "exactly" or "absolutely" is uttered.
My favourite is the gloved, high neck shirt. I think its the epitome of the outrageousness/surrealness/uselessness that makes the brand great.
Yeah man we didn’t even talk about that! At least we have material for a follow up!

Wholesome. What job did you have with such a cool boss?
@@MingusDynastyy sales assistant in a boutique.
New comer like me who get to know CCP , truly appreciate their works.

Money is a pretty good gate keeper for me 😅

Unfortunately Dan is not too much into BBS but maybe we‘ll find a way
what were the other avant garde brands you mentioned?
Video on Marigela pls!!!!! and helmut too
Traumkonversation
🙏🏼
What is the name of the book that was recommended at 1:17:24 ? 😄
Fashion & Materialism by Ulrich Lehmann :)
yooooo
✔️
David seemed kinda zooted in this
For an artist and contentmaker your position choice for dialogue is very weird.
Least eye contact, and thoughts are directed in nowhere.
😘
LoL. Raiding How We Grew UP. What THE F V C K I S THIS ERA !
