Fine violinist, fine teacher! Thank you for sharing it.
Nice. There are also a lot happening in the left hand. First of all fifths being moved between strings and positions. Shaping the hand frame and getting the fingers in the small sixths squeezed well together, and lastly making an even pressure with the left hand to make all the notes to be clear and in tune.
This study is not actually by Kreutzer at all. His edition of 40 Etudes ou Caprices, published in 1805 in Paris, doesn’t contain this study, in Galamian edition n. 13, as well as n. 25 in octaves. That’s why we have now in all newer editions 42 of them. The addition was probably made by Hermann Schröder from 1888, where these 2 studies appear with n. 13 and 25 respectively, even when other’s etude’s order is altered. Without any doubt, these are very important studies, we all played them, but it’s not the part of Kreutzer’s legacy.
Why doesn’t the score on imslp for etude 11 match what she’s playing?
It's K14
One of my teachers mentioned this.. that a certain edition has them in different order. 😬
She tells you that very clearly in the video
2:40 - 3:30... You are wrong. You touch and play all the strings at once. In is the just intonation, bad for melodic violin playing. Thirds and sixths rehearsed in this way are in melodic playing the major too narrow and the minor too wide. We must play in Pythagorean intonation - melodic major thirds and sixths are wider and minor thirds and sixths are narrower. Besogneux du violons !!! il y plus rapide et simple. Elle joue pas très juste!! Et le son est pas terrible!!!
Why isn't your chin on the chin rest - that is what it is for.
Matter of comfort. you can see that her chin rest is a little high, making it too uncomfortable for the chin, but this is in fact for her jaw to hook on to. I do the same thing with a Guarneri style chinrest
Just change the rest. @@UlimorUdamenta
@@Aninalos1 comfort is comfort. It comes in different shapes and sizes. You do you 😉
You're not suppose to squeeze with the chin and shoulder. Your intonation and sound quality will be better if your head is off like the violin was invented. Try it.
@@MonteBelknap That's stupid.
Your grip is insecure. Your wrist changes angle when you change strings, which changes the angle of the stick over the hair, which changes the tone quality. And so, you have fundamental problems with your technique. However, you have a funny accent, so i suppose that makes your errors ok.
