Would love to see TheDooo on here. Not a touring guitarist but definitely a prime example of doing guitar content in a modern setting, also an insanely talented musician in every capacity
Yeah like, there is literally so much coverage on media about them. Just let the younger and (in many cases) more talented guitar heroes get the spotlight.
@@anonymouswombat8538 I don’t care. The media coverage is different from this. I am yet to find someone who chats with them about what super villain they are most like.
@Elhesh It's not about that. Tyler is obviously a bit of a superfan of theirs and they arent exactly in the limelight as much anymore. Their interviews are usually not about guitar. The guitar magazine ones don't dig into anything good.
What a great interview! I'm 60 years old and I've never heard of Mr Wong... I get him! What a great philosophy/view on music! Gonna have to take a deep dive into his music. Thank you both
On the what musicians overlook section, I agree. I've been on a binge of watching live footage of Jack White's various projects, and all of them are so engaging (especially the Dead Weather stuff) because of how much they allow those musical experiences to run through their bodies. You can see and feel everything these musicians do.
I saw Cory live last year in Milan in November, amazing concert, there was so much energy flowin' in the room, incredible playin' by Cory and all the members of the band, REALLY REALLY GOOD TIMES. P.S.: With all the fancy funk guitar playin "in your face" style i also truy appreciated the chill moment of "Today I'm Gonna Get Myself A Real Job", that in some kind of way resonates with my life situation.
You should reach out to Angus Young for an interview, if you manage to get his attention on twitter he'll probably agree to it, he's been of a few podcasts and interviews since they dropped the new album
King Crimson was THE BEST concert I have EVER been to, and they just played the music. Very important that there were no phones or audience hooting and hollering, everyone engaged in the music. If you've never been to a King Crimson concert I can't explain the fully engaged feeling to you.
Outstanding podcast and interview, I learned a lot. Cory had a lot of wisdom and knowledge to share and it was great to hear. Thanks Tyler for another great show. 🎸🎶🤘

Man I would love to sit down and pick both of your heads apart but it'd definitely be easier to talk to Mr Wong cause I do live in Minnesota but as a fellow musician and guitarist it's always great to get other people's ideas or thought processes how to make music or how to play music so you can incorporate it into your own style because if you can't be diverse you box yourself in why do that just play what you feel or how you feel because people will connect to it more
You up and called one of the chillest, most radiant guys ever a whole villain........and then you compared him to the JOKER of ALL people?!??? 😂😂😂😂😂 That's WILD!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮 But forreal, this was a nice podcast.
Anyone pls. On guitar I see people play a note but they mute the strings above before hitting it. I’ve tried but I have no clue how😭 what is this called and how do u do it

Are you going to bring Andy Timmons soon on Guitar Villains?
Cory just seems so chill and relaxed to hang around, he quite fills the Guitar Villain mark!
Soooooo true
he seems high

Please don't stop doing these, they are some of your best content. Extremely well done, very glad to see Cory on here.
The interview skills are growing :)
I really love that take on live performances on how musicians present themselves
Your line-up of guests has been pretty banging so far, can't wait to see who is on deck.
love all the uploads lately
I love playing rhythm guitar over lead. To me it's harder and more challenging to learn.

That intro gave me the chills
Guitar Villians with Paul Gilbert?
This needed so many more up-votes
Paul would totally do it. He's been on the JHS channel a bunch of times. I'm sure they could get in touch.
Thank you so much. This video was awesome because Cory is such and inspiration to my playing. Keep up the great videos 👍
YES, Ive been waiting for this episode!!!

Does it feel like the last ten seconds of time are erased? Lol
Just kidding. Just been more of a *stand* up guy. 😎

I lived in Minnesota for 25 years. I totally get going to AZ for a month...but November? Waiting until January or February! LOL!
'Did'nt know Eddie Van Halen is half Asian, These Asian Cats are really good on Guitars and Bass two....
You forgot to ask him about the the 4 other musicians he would love to play with!!!!
We needed cory, and we got Cory. Thank you Tyler
THE GREATEST CROSSOVER IN HISTORY
Great interview - really enjoyed it. Thanks guys...
Outstanding podcast and interview, I learned a lot. Cory had a lot of wisdom and knowledge to share and it was great to hear. Thanks Tyler for another great show. 🎸🎶🤘
I listened to vulfpeck for the first time like 2 weeks ago. I funking love it
Does Cory have perfect pitch? He names note progressions as if it was a reflex 👌
I doubt it, he just knows the notes cause hes played the song so many times
Omg!!!!! I'm listening to cory since 2018
Cory is so musical, he uses two headphones simultaneously 🤘

Really surprised you don't have a discord. Overall these Guitar Villains are awsome.
Bring John Frusciante and Josh Klinghoffer to the podcast.
P.D: Great Podcast.
Blew my mind when he said he used dava picks. Ive had them for years and never heard of any other players using them.
I would love to see you tackle Yngwie. But seriously, get Michael Schenker!!!
This podcast is the best idea Tyler has had
Best podcast ever no cap

Please have Marc Okubo or Nolly Getgood on the show please!
Cory Wongka
It would be cool to see Josh Homme on this show. The name of the show would be quite fitting for him...
Didn't you have an episode lined up with Rick Graham as well?
We *neeeed* Angus Young on this show, if you get his attention like on Twitter or something it is very likely that he will agree to it.
Cool guy. Good interview.
I could take another 5 hours of this conversation
Guitar villains should be it's own channel
Tyler: “I’ve decided to bestow upon you the most popular comic-book villain of all time. I’m sure you’re very honored.”
Corey: “lol Willie WONGka”
You know you're a musician when you need 2 pairs of headphones to listen to as much music as possible simultaneously.
lolol that zakk wylde stance is the reason i wanted to play the guitar
I love Corey Wong

We use all the same picks!!
12:40 "Well sweet pacific rim job, look at you Jager. You're all loose and tight at the same time."
Pls ask Stachel!!!
could you consider inviting Takayoshi Ohmura on your Podcast. The guy is just amazing
The ultimate warrior doing yoga is gawd damn hilarious.
1990s wrestlers doing yoga together is even better 🤣
Could we maybe get David Maxim Micic on one of these?

You need to do Vivian Campbell from Dio, Deff Leppard, etc.
Have PRS Santana from 2002 sooo great
What a cool guy
If you do can you do a video about them
No dream band question for Cory?
Amazing podcast, but why are the views so low?
