Phoenix is practically the only one with the excuse of literally being too fragile to last on here own, but other characters can have a million tools and strats but you only see 2 used max.

i was expecting 2 clips of 99 second air grab to tac to team death, and then like 10 iron man comebacks lol. instead I got mostly standard play. we didn't even get to see x 23 run around at the speed of sound (i swear dapvip's x-23 is the fastest character in the game).
Apology man has a similar set up with his team. Has an assist that holds down incoming characters while he used Firebrand's unblockable attack. He then tags in doom to finish it up and repeats the cycle. Only a few characters like Sent can get out of it.

The move is unblockable, but you need to get the TAC Infinite with Iron Man to make it truly work.
you can, but you have just 1 frame when you get in to try to do something... your team must be prepared.
